Mine had a few rough patches that would have scratched the glass had I slid the pan around while cooking. After I knew I was going to keep the pan, I used some ultra-fine 1500-grit sandpaper to very gently (and with the grain) buff those out with just a couple of light passes.Love the pan, and would buy again.

I bought this pan 2 years ago and it is still holding up great. It is literally the best pan I have ever owned!! To help keep it from getting scratched up and to keep things healthy since its still nonstick I never go over medium heat on my stove (which I don't have to--the heat distribution is so great!!), I only use silicone utensils with it (and occasionally wooden chopsticks very gently and trying not to touch the pan), and I always hand wash it (no dishwasher). To this day it has very minimal scratches (you can only see them if you use a flashlight and look very closely) and is still completely nonstick. Literally nothing sticks to this thing, which makes me not mind the handwashing!!

Amazing pan, perfect for a fried egg. I’ve been using this pan for a couple months now and it has been great. Very easy to clean and totally non stick! I do small sears and also fry eggs on it and my food has been great! I did my research and ensured to heat the pan on medium heat first until the temperature is right before frying anything and it’s just been perfect.

Defective pan
23 October 2023

This pan changed color the first time I used it. It turned a dark yellow/tan color and I haven’t been able to clean it off. It looks dirty all the time despite being clean. The handle is the beautiful polished silver that it arrived as, but the rest of the pan is a dirty looking tan color. I’ve been cooking on my other stainless steel pans for over 20 years and never had this problem.I contacted All-Clad about the defective color and they said I could return it but I’d have to pay $55 because I used it. But I had to use it to see that it’s defective so I don’t understand their logic. I’m so frustrated and I have a terrible looking pan that cost me a lot of money.

Do Not Buy All-Clad Nonstick!!!
10 December 2022

I have a full set of the All-Clad Copper Core and they are amazing. Until you get to their non-stick pans - the coating wears off after about a year, and I am very careful to only cook using medium heat and meticulously take care of my cookware. All-Clad's customer service refuses to help, any only gives their generic response that it is a result of normal wear and tear.It is clear that there is a manufacturing defect connected with their non stick stainless steel pans, yet All-Clad refuses to honor their warranty. I expected more from such a highly regarded company that makes an otherwise amazing product.

Wish I found out how to use stainless steel cookware properly before I invested on a non-stick cookware set (for those who gave reviews on food sticking to the pan, research on how to season stainless steel pans. you should be able to find a few in youtube). Can't get anything cooked beyond medium heat for the latter for fear of losing the non-stick coating after attempting to cook on high heat (happened to one of the pans). So this stainless steel frying pan is the only pan i can use now for high heat cooking (searing, etc). I guess that's what you get when you buy at discount here in Macys.

Brown to Black Scorched Center. I would not rate this Pan at 500 Degrees. I use my cookware everyday so paying more did not solve my problem. I have switched to a Cast Iron Pan like my Grandmother Used Everyday. Season a New One by cooking things with Oil or Fat and wipe out with Warm Water and a Steel Wool or Plastic Sponge to get the brown stuff out if necessary and put it on the stove on medium to dry for 10 minutes.

Not like the Italian pans. Won't buy again.

Wish I could post a picture. I got this because it's supposed to be a really good brand and I was told that they are very easy to clean. As in no resin or oil sticks and is very easy to clean of it does. After one seared fillet mignon done two minutes per side on medium and then basting on low for another ten minutes or so in butter and the pan is disgusting. Oil stuck all over and not deglazing, cleaning, or bar keepers friend works. I feel like I wasted my money and if I was going to pay this much again for a pan, it'd better be from Italy. And that's the thing, crate and barrel had zero option for a stainless steel pan. You got some kitchen aid sets (no) some ceramic pans, and cast iron. But all clad is there only option. I won't buy my pans or cookware here again. I'm sorry, the Americans cannot make cookware like the Italians. We also bought 1000 dollars of stuff there and the only thing I wanted to work was the pan. Cook In is a much better brand. Again I was very sad too see only one or two brands and nothing from Italy. Oh and the steak came out perfect, exactly like I wanted, however, having to deal with the pan after really sucks, and it's back to the grill until I get a better one.

Overall, a very high quality tool that works perfectly and with the right know-how is easy to clean (food stains- use sodium bicarbonate and water, hard water stains/rainbow stains- use white vinegar). Once you get used to the little bit of extra attention to detail in cleaning and preheating required- it becomes very much all part of the fun. I cannot speak for the D3 line, but this D5 pan retains heat extremely well and is very easy to control. You'd really have to be doing something wrong to burn anything in this pan. It puts the most beautiful crust on meat and fish and makes it easy to estimate when meat is cooked or ready to flip. It puts the most beautiful crust on meat and fish and makes it easy to estimate when meat is cooked or ready to flip. Adding meat into the pan, initially it will stick- but after a few minutes, giving the pan a shake, it will release fully- essentially telling you when the food is ready to be flipped! Education is everything with these pans, and once you learn, they really do make you much more involved in the cooking process and aware of the underlying science of it. The 12 inch pan is the perfect size for up to 3 large steaks/chicken breasts, with high enough sides to create beautiful pan sauces with ease. The angle at which the sides meet the cooking surface make the pan perfect for tossing when sautéing, yet keeping space in the pan maximised. I like the design of the handle, but like others, I too have found it a little awkward to get a comfortable grip. It's best to try to use a palm-up grip. Once you do, it becomes very controllable and in my opinion, the way these handles were designed to be held. The brushed finish is very beautiful and will age better than the polished finish- likely turning satin after years of use. Be aware this is a heavy pan! To me, that means quality and durability and makes it feel all-the-more special to use, but others may struggle with the weight and the heat-controlability benefits of extra steel layer in the core may not be worth the weight. It comes in a large box that you won't want to throw away. Yes, it's expensive, but that's the cost of owning the best!

All I can say is WOW. I've used many different pans for a variety of cooking over the years, and out of them all this pan claims the spot of my personal favorite. This pan is great for cooking many different types of food. The flat bottom with the flared sides is one of the many features that makes this pan perfect for making almost anything you can think of. Pouring is simply and doesn't spill like many pans due to the fabulous design. Thanks to the 5-ply alternating stainless steel layers this product heats evenly and is good about preventing annoying hotspots. It's even oven safe up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit! The handle is comfortable and also heat resistant which is a huge plus! The nonstick feature is helpful too. All in all I would rate this item a 10 out of ... MoreAll I can say is WOW.
