Amazfit T-Rex 2 Smart Watch - Desert Khaki

I have been using the watch daily for almost 16-17 hours a day with 1-2 hours of swimming each day. Still the watch has maintained almost a 20 day battery back up. The accuracy of the tracking data also seems to be good with sometimes heart tracking not being accurate when the watch is not tight enough on the wrist. This happens mostly during an exercise session. This has been already called out by the company so I will not worry about that. The distance tracking is very accurate while running and swimming. No doubts there. I use the watch rough on purpose sometimes and I find it to be very robust. No scratches on the screen yet and it has been bumped on the wall or in the hallway too many times now. Ordering and delivery - 5 stars to appario retail who delivered the watch within 24 hours from ordering it. The gym bag was delivered a day later. Packaging - Amazfit India packaging was good as always. The product packaging could have been a bit sturdier and better for a watch that is worth 16K. the box was flimsy to the extent I doubted the genuineness of the product. I have a broad wrist and for me it's medium size watch. for a smaller wrist, it will give the feel of a typical large military-grade watch. The light weight has its advantages too. it's not troublesome to use it while sleeping if one wants to use sleep tracking. it feels smooth and light even if we use it 24X7. The band is fenestrated so there is no sweating issue. DisplayVery bright and crisp display! there is no lag while scrolling the functions. Is very bright and clearly seen in broad daylight too. It's large and surrounded by raised bezels which I think will give it some protection against casual grazes and scratches. touch sensitivity can be compared to the apple watch screen touch. it's really good. feels like there is some coat over the glass which gives that feel. i really liked it better than other fitness watches. Battery I am using it day and night for last three days which includes three swimming sessions of one hour each and sleep tracking all the three nights. I started using it out of the box without charging. the charge was 82% when i took it out of the box, There was a firmware update immediately which lasted for 10 min. after 3 days of continuous use the batter is 70%. its really impressive!. Will update the charging time once it drained completely for the first time. Functions -most important part is functions. The immediate difference I found out was GPS.. it's too fast and accurate as compared to the Samsung galaxy watch and Huawei GT2 pro watch. it takes a fraction of a second to capture the GPS even if it's too cloudy. It calculates my change in position in the swimming pool even when my hands are completely submerged under water most of the time. I kept a tag on its calculation of the distance of swimming and could figure out that even if my hand stays out of the water for a second it captures my distance and updates it immediately. it was not so fast with Samsung and Huawei watches. Steps counted, stairs climbed and the number of laps and distance of swimming are calculated accurately. other watches always gave me a miss on a couple of laps. Cross syncEffectively cross syncs with google fit, Apple health and strava. so those who are used to these fitness app can still use those apps with this watch. Issues -1. non user replacable watch band! the screw used to secure the band has a weird configuration. at least i have not seen that shape in screwdrivers yet. so choose your belt color wisely before you place your order. changing the belt won't be an easy task.2. Zepp app is not very interactive. it does not look complete and user-friendly. I would rate Huawei health app the topmost when it comes to user-friendlyness, Zepp in second place, and the Samsung at third place. amazefit needs to work on the software front and need to bring improvements to it so that is will be more interactive.3. Cost of the watch at 16K (when amazefit is giving the gym bag free) seems a bit on the higher side. I would rather be happy to buy it again at a cost of 12-13K. 4. T rex branding on the watch band is a bit flashy as its engraved and painted with fluorescent white colour. i figured out a work around for it . i painted it with black permanent marker so that the watch looks more elegant. you may try it. This is one of the best fitness trackers (not a smartwatch ) with all-round functions and best of the GPS available on the market. if you are interested in a sturdy fitness tracker to be used mostly for outdoor sports which comes with best of the battery life, T rex2 is for you! If you are one of those who is used to adding and removing many software/functions/music etc in and out of your watch, then think of some smartwatch that runs on apple os or google os. T rex is a fitness-oriented watch that works smoothly for the purpose for which it is made. !! cheers! ...

Pros:1) It is a great product, Build quality is awesome.2) Battery life is amazing.3) Catches GPS signal very quickly.4) Navigation feature works perfect.5) Too good ZEPP OS on watch. Which gives lot of options for customization.Improvements needed:1) There should be some online portal or windows support.2) There should be option to import workout data from other sources (like from strava or garmin to Amazfit). My previous watch was garmin so I am looking to import all workout data from garmin to Amazfit.3) Watch does not connect with external sensors (external heart rate, or cycling cadence, or speed sensor, or power sensor), Amazfit should release a feature to connect with external sensors through bluetooth.

I was looking for a digital watch, this one came with many features that I don't want to use but since I don't have to charge it every day, I am good. Did not like the Apple watch for the following reasons:1. I work from home, and only wear the watch while going out, when I wear it, its battery is dead so I have to plan and charge it.2. Rugged and Durable, I have been using the watch in the Gym and even while taking steam and swimming and the watch has been handling whatever you throw at it. So full marks for being a rugged and solid product by the manufacturer. OTT and Firmware Updates for the Zepp App, The manufacturer seems to be working on the feedback by its users and features like trackback and a testament to it. Activity Options, Like I said I use this product for the Gym and other such outdoor activities and apart from having all the functional activity types. Multiple watch faces and as time passes more may be added, I admit I tried the you tube tutorials to add 3rd party watch faces however when I checked the different watch faces on the zepp app I eventually realized adding 3rd party watch faces is a waste of time. Sleep monitoring, I like how the watch shows how much I slept and the different bifurcations like REM,Deep Sleep etc also you can tag what was the last activity before you hit snooze. UI for Zepp app, Its simple, Functional and Intuitive. What I Dislike - Battery Life, If you keep you GPS on accurate and AOD turned on then the watch battery will last for a week and maybe lesser if you have turned on all the features like heart rate monitoring. A great smartwatch value

I needed to replace my old Samsung Frontier and picked one of these up when they were on sale and I have not been disappointed. I've got several other smartwatches like Fitbit and a couple of Garmins I use for mainly extreme outdoor but for a daily wear this is a gem! I like traditional watch styling and not so much the squares on a band that Apple and Fitbit... heck... even a Pebble had made popular. Give me a round watch face with downloadable watch faces that I can change to suit my mood and I'm good.The activity tracker works extremely well and I like the real time heart beat monitor. Cool Gadget!

I've never owned a smart watch or any nowadays "smart" device other than my Iphone X, so this is my first try out on a high-tech gadget that will help track my daily activity. Been using it for a month now, just gotta say, this watch is amazingly fit on my wrist (no pun intended).It has all the standard accessories. Clock (obviously...) timer, alarm, lights etc. what surprise me is all the fitness features capable of, it tracks my sleep pattern, monitor my heart rate and blood oxygen level. Also, the motion detection function which remind me to stretch my legs after sitting for too long. Great day to day watch - Very accurate GPS

Went to John lewis to look at this watch as my Garmin Vioactive 3 battery was having to be charged every two days.Liked the look of it and the original first review I had seen was around 4/5 so reasonable.Have had for around 2 weeks now and tested against my original GPS watches and very happy with results. Works very well for what I wanted, tracking walks, runs and cycling, sleeping and battery life very good. Also links to strava well. nevery used my previous watch to connect via ANT+ so no issue there.Heart rate was good in most occations and even matched my garmin strap will doing a quick compare. Great watch!

So far had for 3 months and it has worked perfect, wear everyday and very active with it. Have only had to charge it a few times battery lasts for ever. Marked it 4 stars because there is always room for improvement. I feel the pictures of the product make it look a bit higher end than when you are actually wearing it. The plastics look a bit more plastic in person, and the comfort level is good but not amazing. The included watch faces are pretty good, but could use some help or offer a few more. So far though the screen (glass/polymer) has been amazing and holding up great. I bump it into walls all the time, it hits the ground, goes through brush, I swim, lift and run with it 5-6 days a week. It simply is holding up. Hopefully it has longevity. Walking and running indoors it seems to have some distance calculating issues (the track I use indoors has two tight turns and I think it misses the turns when measuring distance). Absolutely horrible. All the technology went into the screen, and nothing else. Screen looks nice, and that's where it ends. Have to lift to wake screen, cannot just simply tap it. Cannot configure workouts to show what details you want to see on just one screen. You have to rifle through more then one screen to see the various details of whatever workout you may be performing. Calories do not register in real time. If I am sitting in place, unlike my Garmin Vivoactive 4, the calories stay at the same number for an hour easily. My vivoactive for, for example, counts the calories you are burning even when sitting still. Yes, you burn calories around the clock, even if sitting still. You WILL NOT be able to easily swap it out. Charger will easily pop off. You have to delicately place it into place, and then delicately put it down while the unit charges. I will stick to my Garmin Vivoactive 4 that works flawlessly to date, holds a great charge, may not be the prettiest screen, but the screen is always on, looks fabulous even outdoors, and the watch is SUPER easy to setup, navigate, and feels premium compared to this generic device.
