I read a bunch of the reviews left for this product and felt I should leave 'real" feedback because some of what is written by others is patently false. This is an absolutely great product. Here's why: 1-form factor-Great design. Taken from the Apple playbook, the softball-shaped and sized unit blends nicely in any environment. I like the color choices. I have a blue one and got my wife a white one. Both look very cool on the night table. The somewhat muted display goes from very bright (10) to off. It can be changed with a voice command or will change automatically based on ambient light in the room. 2-Sound- Look-this is no audiophile component. It's small size limits the quality of the sound. Make your coffee and toast in the AM, turn on or off virtually any appliance plugged in. 4-Super easy set-up-Get the Alexa app and follow the instructions andthis is literally plug and play. Reviewers claiming difficult set-up make me wonder. If this is difficult, you will have difficulty tying your shoes. So, in summation, Amazon has created a near perfect melding of form and function. Stream podcasts, or your favorite radio or TV shows. It's applications seem limitless. For the price, it's a no-brainer.

Wanted an additional Echo to add the ones I already own as great for combining all of them for music in every room. The latest edition comes in various colours , I chose the blue which looks very nice. the sound quality is very good and very easy to set up. I think for the money they are excellent value and as always buying from John Lewis is a pleasure.

As with other versions of these speakers I've purchased installation was easy along with configuration of preferred settings.Advertising promised a better sound and it delivers. However it's still too loud at the quietest setting for sleep sounds. Common with digital products. Not a fault per se. Also depends on listening preferences.Overall solid build and functionality.

This is the first Amazon echo dot I have purchased and I now wonder why it has taken me so long to discover such an informative little globe. It is so easy to use. Alexa is very clever ....... answers your question, plays your choice of music, sets an alarm, will tell you a joke and switches on and off. All you have to do is set up your voice recognition. It hardly takes up any room, the sound quality is brilliant and it really has changed my life. Definitely worth a 5 star rating.
Not happy with this purchase. If I wanted a radio I would have brought a radio. I wanted to hear my own selections of music. If I want to hear my type of music it's £11.00 per month. Diabolical
Pros: Excellent value. Easy to set up. In use within minutes.Cons: Sound quality could be better.Would be great If you could set up an additional bluetooth speaker for better sound, but it was under £27, so no complaints.
I own three of them located in different parts of the house. They are very useful in reminding me of important dates, providing the news, guiding me through a dish preparation, and getting me ready for my lectures. When paired with other devices, they can help me manage simple tasks. They truly embody artificial intelligence. I highly recommend them.
Product works and looks just as new. Love the projection and sound quality from this device. Connection is seamless and can connect to multiple devices. I also love the multiple functions it has such as setting an alarm, weather information among others
Needed speakers of some kind for music around the house and decided to go down the Alexa route. Took a chance with a couple of these as they were in the Black Friday sale and haven't been disappointed. I don't particularly need lots of volume, but they have decent quality sound (given their size), and they were so easy to setup and use; I've been really impressed! On top of all that, you can fill your day asking Alexa all sorts of things...!
Have recently upgraded from a much older echo dot. The sound quality is a lot better. Only issue is the charge/connect cable is quite loose and has to sit just right to not turn off. This might have just been an issue with this device and not an all round defect, hence the 4 star rating. The buttons on top are very sensitive as well, but will take some getting used to. Overall a great device! Would recommend.
