I bought Echo Sub to add to my paired Echo Dot 3s in my bedroom which sounded far better than I thought could be possible and created a nice wife soundstage while remaining sneakily inconspicuous. Once I figured out that I needed to break the pair and remove the Dots from my speaker groups using the Amazon Alexa app, I was able to pair them together with Echo Sub and rebuild my speaker groups. I didn't find any considerations for this case in the instructions, so this was frustrating. But once they were all paired up, I sat on my bed and listened for hours trying every genre of music and all my favorite artists! Adding a second Dot added dimension, and then adding Sub really woke up the sound! The sound mixing is great, really gives a premium quality to it! And it's nice to still be able to interface with Alexa on my primary Dot (set different wake words for each Dot) without getting responses through all paired speakers. Also glad Alexa won't try to wake me up by sending the alarm tone through Echo Sub! Sound levels this pairing can achieve are well beyond than what I need in the bedroom; it won't ever leave you with your ears bleeding, but if you swipe too hard on the volume slider, it'll leave you wide eyed and hoping the neighbors aren't asleep. Overall, exceeded my expectations!

This is a neat bass unit which adds some extra punch to an Alexa Echo. We're talking here about a powerful, weighty sound, much better than an Echo on its own but not to be confused with a top-end HiFi, which it's not, and never pretended to be. Because if this, I'd be inclined just to use it with a single Echo, rather than going to the extra expense and hassle of getting two Echoes in the false hope of creating a Sonos beating system on the cheap. As with some of our previous Echo device experiences,, this didn't work first time. I repeated the set up process three times, without success, being unable to see what I was doing wrong. On the fourth attempt I didn't knowingly do anything different but, hey presto, it suddenly worked and the room was filled with a rich ... MoreThis is a neat bass unit which adds some extra punch to an Alexa Echo. So, if you are struggling to get it going just persevere and it will probably all come good without you ever knowing what you did to fix the problem. In summary this is a worthwhile addition that will give your Alexa a much beefier, punchier, sound. As long as you have realistic expectations and are not counting on a true HiFi experience you shouldn't be disappointed.

The Echo Sub works with a variety of Echo devices, but I've paired it with two Studio Speakers. By themselves they sound very good, but with the Sub added in it really rounds out the experience. It's not a stand alone product and I don't know if it's good with older Echo's but once you've bought in for the Studio's theres no reason not to get this. Configuration of the Studios and the Sub as a group in the Alexa app is a real PITA. Be prepared for that to take some time.

The Echo Sub is an extremely well-made device. I have it paired with two Echo Dats in my Master Bathroom, yep, My bathroom. I put the sub inside one of the sink cabinets and mounted the Echo Dots up on the wall. The Echo sub performs excellent in this odd configuration.I do wish there were audio settings for the sub but the default settings do perform nicely, and I do not have any complaints.Value, it's a little expensive and never seems to go on sale. But it does perform well for the price.
Amazon Echo Subwoofer is an amazing performer. My primary use is to play music on demand. The best combination is a set of 3 speakers: 2) Echo Plus and 1) Echo Sub. The photos show wires because I hid the subs from sight and the strong bass appears to source from the 2) Echo Plus in each room. That is why the photos show wires; each sub is hidden behind furniture. If you use only one Echo or Echo Plus you will need to lower the subwoofer bass level through the Amazon Alexa App because the default sub output is balanced with 2) Echo Plus speakers (not one) and the bass will overpower the high frequencies and mid frequencies from one Echo or Echo Plus.Rock On!!
We have 5 alexas in out home, all work great! Bought one of these speakers, hooked up but never played music, called amazon help line, spent two hours on the phone for them to say it must be bad, exchanged for another, after an hour of messing with it, finally got it to work. Doesnt have much base at all unless u turn the music up to loud, unplugged the sub to see the difference in base, never worked again. These speakers are garbage, dont waste your time, guess thats why bestbuy doesnt keep them in stock.
I wish this thing was never discontinued. I love it! For $120, it's a good subwoofer. Switching between speaker groups could be easier because it can only be paired with 1 group at a time.It has good bass for its size. It's portable and hide-able.
How can I best describe the Amazon Sub? It needs improvement. Minimalist instructions are provided on how to set it up. In fact, the quick set up guide is worthless. Use the Amazon Alexa app (on either your cell phone or computer) to set-up the Amazon Sub exactly as you have set up your other Amazon Echo devices (i.e., plug it in, look for the blinking orange light--on the back of the sub, and connect it to your wi-fi). You will know it is connected when its name appears in your device list. Next, unpair the two devices that you want to pair to you sub (you can skip this step if you never paired anything in the first place). If you already have an Everywhere Group set up, all your devices should continue to playâbut the subwoofer can (at this time) only be connected to two devices in your Everywhere group. I have a portable speaker stand and placed my woofer on. It improved the quality of the sound (but that is a purely subjective opinion). Settings on the Amazon Sub are minimal. You can increase and/or decrease the bass and treble. Hopefully, more settings are added in the future along with the ability to pair more than two devices to the sub.
In trying to reduce my living room audio footprint I decided to ditch a full size receiver, some high end bookshelf speakers and an cheaper subwoofer. I didnât expect having two echos and this sub would be a comparable replacement audio-wise but I was willing to make the trade off between sound quality for visual appearance and convienice. The subwoofer is a good add as even with the two echos connected in stereo mode, there is just not enough low end to make the music feel like it actually fills the room. Adding the sub does help fill the room and turns the echo system into an adequite stereo solution for a living room. The sub itself is sub-par in that it doesnt get very low as it seems to play some mid-range; you can actually hear voices coming from the sub I ... MoreIn trying to reduce my living room audio footprint I decided to ditch a full size receiver, some high end bookshelf speakers and an cheaper subwoofer. Not sure why it doesnât filter out higher frequencies but Iâd believe this is part of the reason it doesnât get as low as Iâd expect it to be able to.Overall satisfied with it but rated at 3 stars as compared against my previous sub I paid about $100 for (8â 200 watt) it doesnât even come close to it sound wise. Given you can get better base from a entry level sub for substantially less that is a let down. I did only pay about $130 for the echo sub though with the two echo and sub bundle around Christmas ($250 total for two echos and the sub) so in my mind it is at least still in the ballpark of an entry level sub which helps make up for the less than steller performance.
Pairing was easy using the Alexa app. This sub enhances the sound experience when listening to music. However, now that the Echo Show 15 supports Fire TV you would expect when watching movies, etc. the sub would be active.NOPE!If you have an Echo Show 15 and use Alexa to listen to music the sub may be helpful. If not, it's really just a boat anchor taking up space.
