It's a great device for streaming services right out of the box, it can run all streaming services. Works well with Prime Video, Netflix, Crave, Disney+, Apple TV and I'm sure it can work with others as well. The UI is ok for aggregating suggestions from each service and jumps into the app to play the suggestions. Spotify works ok on it but as big of a fan. It has the ability to play USB media, but requires an additional file explorer app and an OTG connector that also has power pass through because the stick only has 1 micro USB port. With any additional ports and devices connected, you need to ensure the power supply is at least 2A, without that it seems to periodically power reset. The only way to really be able to use it effectively is to get a Bluetooth keyboard to work with the stick. I wouldn't recommend web browsing on the stick if you don't like ads. For travel/home use for streaming alone from your favourite streaming services this is a great device and works right out of the box. You can just plug into any HDMI tv and have a wifi connection to get it going. The voice search feature is helpful but doesn't always work. I would recommend the 4K version over the regular version especially if you have larger TVs, and functionally seems a bit more responsive.

Additionally, the device only supports up to 1080p resolution, so if you have a 4K TV, you may want to consider a more advanced streaming device.

SPEED- This is the biggest upgrade if in my opinion if you are coming from a 2nd generation device. The specs mention that this 3rd generation is “50% more powerful,” and you can definitely tell the difference in navigating menus and loading applications. This is probably the biggest reason to upgrade from Gen 2. DOLBY ATMOS – This might not be a big deal for many people, but support for the Dolby Atmos specification is nice for audiophiles with home speaker systems that can make use of it. REMOTE – As I mentioned in my review of this new remote, the main additions are the “Channel Guide” button, that brings up the menu to watch live TV if you have that set up; and the four App Buttons- for quickly launching Prime Video, Netflix, Disney Plus, and Hulu. The remote also allows control of your TV through power and volume buttons that are not available in the FireTV Stick Lite. CONS: NO 4K- This version does not support 4K video streaming. That FireTV Stick 4K is still available with the older 2nd generation Alexa Voice Remote currently, (the one with a TV power button but no app buttons or channel guide button), so that's kind of disappointing. All in all, this to me is worth the upgrade from an older FireTV Stick, mainly because of the speed difference but also the newer remote is nice to have. The Lite version doesn't really seem like it would be worth it in most situations, because for only $10 less you lose all of the TV controls (power, volume, channel guide, app buttons, etc)
I’ve had the Fire Stick as my main media hub in my family home for 6+ years, switching them out and updating which version we are using. It’s simple, no fuss, no commitment, and cheap compared to cable and you are able to access all of your entertainment applications to watch your favorite tv shows and movies ie. Netflix, Disney+, etc. The remote is simple, and the fire stick platform itself is easy to navigate. My only complaint is the countless rotating ads of whatever Amazon is currently promoting will constantly be up on your screen if it’s idle and before your screensaver kicks on. I used to use my PlayStation as a media hub and that didn’t have nearly the amount of ads. It’s a personal preference but my family finds it to be bombarding. Also browsing the internet on here isn’t the smoothest but who’s really doing that on here if we all have smartphones? Other than that, it’s an easily accessible entertainment platform that is inexpensive and gives access to all the major tv/film streaming services. There are also games you are able to access with Amazon Luna.
I love Amazon's Fire Stick. It's user-friendly for almost all ages and technical levels to learn. You can get every kind of streaming app you can think of and many more you've never heard of, a lot of which are free and require no subscription! My dad finally cancelled his vastly expensive dish network package and instead signed up with Prime, Peacock, and Youtube TV. With those 3 streaming platforms and all the other free ones we get over 90% of the channels and shows we were using on dish. If you add Netflix to that list you'll never need regular tv programming and you'd have everything you had and more at your fingertips and can even do downloads to save shows and movies instead of using a DVR. One-time payment to have access to more streaming video and music apps than you'll ever need, and not to mention also games that the whole family can enjoy! Even if you have a smart tv it's still worth it because you'll get access to more apps than your tv will have. Hope this review helps!

I used to be big on Review Writing then fet overwhelmed with the demands for rating things like the 1 cup of yogurt I'd purchased 100s of times. However, I am so impressed with this Device I knew it was my duty to speak up. I purchased my 1st , large, Smart (a matter of opinion) HDTV 4K on Amazon Day #1. It's fine. Without the Polk Soundbar it would have been a disappointment. Nothing wrong with it but the proprietary nature of owning a Google TV was becoming obnoxious and boring. The picture Quality alone changed my TV frm meh to HOLY WOW. The Fire Remote makes it so much more straight forward User Friendly. I love that Google no longer dominates how or what, when and where I use the TV. I also believe that I have better , or more, streaming options than Id had without the FireStick 4K. I am very pleased with the ease and speed of setup (perhaps bc I'm very familiar with Firestick), as well. But the picture quality, the difference between the Before and After install, is remarkable. This little device has turned my TV into a higher end product. Yes, I obviously recommend this 4K Firestick. It's still brand new to me, only time will tell if my review will StayThe Course or ends up being one, long, hyperbole. For now, I couldn't be more pleased. If your Fancy, new TV has become a disappointment, if you can purchase this 4K FireStick for a mere $24, grab it. 👍 from Kansas.
