Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 6.8" 11th Gen (32GB, Black)

AT LAST after many, many years. Holy Grail reader

I have owned a nook and 5 different kindles and an ipad. I was very hesitant to buy another kindle. Initially, i wanted something to take to the beach but could never see in the bright sun. Then speed, then sizing, always disappointed. Then I came across Kristina Braly's review on Youtube. I jumped in and WOW. Im reading in bright sunlight. Perfect size for holding and reading, i love the book cover is displayed at sleep. Charges great with my kindle fabric case on. The one complaint i came across was the power button on the bottom. I read at bed time laying down with my kindle on my chest and It has not powered off once but i do have a case on mine, however, it is not protected or covered by my case at all. Best purchase ever!

This kindle is amazing! My daughter absolute loves it! My daughter has a book addiction lol . When we moved her into her dorm last year for her freshman year the amount of books was doable.. Trying to move her out was absolutely insane. We ran out of room between the truck and car and had to donate the pretty newly purchased refrigerator. Now she will buy one here and there because she loves the feel of them while reading lol .The free trial membership was amazing and we will continue that! Thanks so much for lightning my load for sophomore year!! :)

Better than before

This is exactly like the last generation with a few notable changes. First, its larger. The screen is just bigger which is nice, but it's a bit harder to hold in one hand. The charging port is USB C which is great. Its advertised that it can also do wireless charging, but I haven't tried this yet. The larger memory is also nice especially when there is no internet around and you need another book. Wait foor the sales. It has already been on sale twice since it was introduced. I'm sure there will be more.

Great e-reader!

This is my first e-reader ever (unless you count my iPad) and I’ve been super happy with it. Electronic paper is cool! Particularly because it’s easy on the battery and clearly readable without any nonsense in bright sunlight. Opting for the more expensive Kindle (as in, without ads) and with the auto-adjusting backlight was a good move (I hate ads). I’ve never been annoyed by the backlight’s brightness level, nor its color temperature. And it can shift to less white light automatically or depending on your schedule, which is nice.Using the Kindle store has been an okay experience. The screen on electronic paper devices tends to take a second to refresh, so it can feel clunky navigating the store if you’re used to doing it on your phone or a computer. Great capacity on this model, too, so I don’t expect to ever have to remove books I’ve previously read from the library. I wanted something lighter than my iPad and more “beach/sun friendly” and this has not disappointed once.It feels good (and light) in hand with an ever so slightly textured plastic back. It’ll show oily fingerprints very well, but it feels good to hold on to if you decide to forgo a case. The screen front doesn’t show fingerprint smudges much, thankfully, and has been a pleasure to read. I’m far more inclined to pick up my Kindle and just start reading than if it was me on my iPad, etc. And with the battery sipping e-ink, I rarely have to charge it. If you’re in the market for one, this model’s worth considering.

Mom uses it every day...

We bought this for my mom for a christmas gift. She reads SO much, one of the few things she does, so figured she would get alot of use out of it. And she has. She use to go through so many physical books, this seemed like a better option. She uses this everyday, all day long.I am not sure what to say about this, kindles have been around for a while, so most people know what they are and how they work.It is small and very light weight. My mom is almost 80 and for the most part she has no problems. She messes it up some times, but it's not an ongoing thing.I also picked up this particular unit because it has wireless charging. My bedtime reading buddy for library books

I LOVE my Kindle Paperwhite. Its design is perfect for carrying in a small handbag, and holding in my hands. I often read at night, and between the dark mode and automatic brightness features, this is the perfect vehicle for night reading. The battery life is extraordinary, and it has great connectivity for my local library's app, Libby, so I can read library books on it. (I wish it connected to another of my library's apps, Hoopla!) Overall, I highly recommend this product. In addition, this ebay seller had great communication and speedy delivery.

My favorite way to read so far

I've been very happy with my Kindle purchase. The screen is very comfortable to read on- a huge upgrade from reading on my iPhone, even the oled models. Backlight and color temperature warming work well. Battery life is excellent. It's comfortable to hold, though would prefer if the screen was vertically centered for easier holding in landscape mode.Cons- screen is very easy to scuff- I'd appreciate a bit more contrast in dark mode- Can be a bit picky about ebook formats- a bit pricey, find a sale

New Paperwhite a plus

I bought a Kindle Paperwhite version 11 to replace a Kindle with a built-in keyboard which I kept for years because it had a feature called "text to speech" because it would read aloud to me. The Paperwhite has built-in adjustable lighting. It is faster than the older Kindle & has a battery with longer life. In order to have text to speech I had to provide an external Bluetooth speaker to sync with the Paperwhite. There is a 150+ page instruction manual included. I'm still working my way through it & learning how to use features in the Paperwhite. The available protective case fits very well & should stay that way because there is no elastic to wear out. I would buy the Paperwhite & case again. No built-in speaker is the only drawback for me.

This is probably the best Kindle for just reading - less distracting than a Kindle Fire (which I also own), and lighter to hold. Nicely backlit, smooth page turns, plenty of memory for lots of books, responsive touch screen, fast Wi-Fi connectivity for syncing with other devices. The screen is clear and very readable. The auto-brightness feature is very nice. The screen size is slightly larger than earlier Paperwhite devices so a bit more text fits on the screen - it seems more natural than previous Paperwhites, more like a paper back book. It claims to be water resistant but I have not had need to test this. I use it without a cover and it has been rugged for travel. It IS pricey but I expect this will last for quite awhile - my first paperwhite did.
