Another phenomenal Anker product!

I'll start this review by saying that I have several other Anker Solix products so they're not completely new to me.The Solix C300 is an awesome middle ground between the larger Solix 767 and smaller portable packs like the Prime. Ankers design language holds steady through the C300 with a dark grey plastic housing, conveniently located handle, colour screen and LED light bar. These units are built exceptionally well and cheap is certainly not a word that comes to mind when reviewing this. The overall usability is excellent. You've got 3 standard household plugs, 3 USB Type C, a USB Type A, car port connector and solar panel input as well. Around the side, you've got your charging plug input.Charging the unit is quick. It arrived with 85% SOC and was able to charge to 100% in just a few minutes. The Anker App is a must for managing and seeing critical information on your devices. You're able to see current State of Charge (SOC) output draw and input charge in real time as well. The C300 connects via bluetooth or wifi and allows for over the air firmware updates - yes, your battery needs occasional firmware updates lol. Using the app allows you to also change some settings and utilize other features such as using the built-in LED as an SOS beacon, which is pretty cool!As mentioned previously, the size is ideal for a weekend in the woods or perhaps longer durations so long as you've also got solar panels or the ability to add supplemental charge should it be required. With a ~300 Wh battery capacity, I can get nearly 4 full charges on my 16" Macbook Pro M1 Max. It allows for nearly 20 charges of my iPhone 15 Pro Max, which is pretty incredible!Several other reviews mention just how small and light the C300 is. I can only assume that they mean in comparison to much larger and heavier units. The C300 clocks in at about 13lbs or 6kg. Which isn't exactly light, but it's certainly more portable than the 767 which weighs almost 68lbs or 30kg.In terms of things I wouldn't mind seeing changed in future iterations of this product, as some users have mentioned, a rubber cover over the car port would be great! It's currently just a gaping hole asking for my kid to stick their fingers into or a spider to build a new home in. A carrying strap would also be handy, I see one in some of the marketing and perhaps it has one and my unit just didn't ship with one. But this would make it convenient to throw over your shoulder or attach to another bag.Overall, I have loved testing this unit and really appreciate the attention to detail that Anker puts into all of their product, not specifically this one. They have a premium feel and they clearly stand behind their products with their incredible warranty (5 years) I plan to use it as a backup for my workstation in case of power outage which seem to happen frequently in my area. I'll also be using it on an upcoming camping trip to keep our devices charged.I absolutely recommend this product to anyone in the market for a more portable, yet still powerful and feature-rich battery solution.

It's excellent

This is an excellent power bank, with a lot of different options available. Given the amount of juice in this thing, I was surprised at how small it was. The front display is clear and easy to read, and tells you everything you need to know about the current power state. It's really well designed and compact. You can also turn different ports on and off individually. If you connect to it via an app on your phone using BlueTooth or WiFi, it lets you see everything you can see on the front display - rate of drain, rate of charge, estimate of how long battery life will last (or how long it'll take to charge to full), etc. Very handy if you have this tucked somewhere where it's hard to see the display. The app also delivers firmware updates to the unit (this one needed one out of the box - the update process took a few minutes, but was simple and painless).Given the 288Wh battery capacity, I expect you could use this to keep most small electronics like phones or tablets charged for multiple days. To put it into perspective, the battery in this is large enough to charge my phone 24 times, or my MacBook Pro 4 times. It can also be used as a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) to protect your electronics in the event of a sudden power outage. It's rated for 300W of continuous power (600W spike), so I wouldn't run a full-sized desktop gaming rig off of it, but it should be fine for anything that doesn't draw a massive amount of power. The USB ports on the front cover just about any scenario you can think of, including fast charging a phone, tablet or laptop. Two of the USB-C ports are rated at 140W, which is as fast as I've seen any wall charger support. It also has an LED light on it that can be used to drive better visibility outdoors or as a signal light (it has an SOS mode). A nice touch. There are no accessories beyond a power cord included, and that includes documentation. The manual is fully digital - all that's in the box on that front is a QR code. Thankfully, it's very easy to use and set up. I only referenced the manual to confirm I wasn't missing any features or functionality.Optional (sold separately) accessories include a shoulder strap (I think you could use about any shoulder strap with it), a cable to recharge it from a car outlet (e.g. cigarette lighter adapter, but the end that goes into this appears to be custom) and a solar panel, which would be a great add on if you were taking this camping or somewhere else "off the grid". Obviously most accessories reduce the portability of the unit, but the trade offs may be worth it for the additional functionality. All in all, I couldn't be happier with this unit. It's everything I expected and more.

Portable peace of mind for emergencies and outings

With extreme weather becoming more common here, and power outages along with it, this portable power station fills a very useful niche in my home. Not only does it provide much more direct-current energy storage (288 Wh) than the large 5-volt power bank that I've previously kept on hand for outages, it also provides up to 300W of sustained 120 VAC power via three grounded wall-type outlets. That flexibility can be extremely helpful during a power outage. Assuming that the power station is charged in advance, its three USB-C and one USB-A ports can be used to charge multiple devices at once, such as phones, tablets, radios, flashlights, headlamps, etc. Even better, I can use one or more of the 120-volt outlets to power wall-type chargers for NiMH AA or AAA batteries, ... MoreWith extreme weather becoming more common here, and power outages along with it, this portable power station fills a very useful niche in my home. Assuming that the power station is charged in advance, its three USB-C and one USB-A ports can be used to charge multiple devices at once, such as phones, tablets, radios, flashlights, headlamps, etc. Even better, I can use one or more of the 120-volt outlets to power wall-type chargers for NiMH AA or AAA batteries, removable lithium camera or drone batteries, and other AC devices that only draw a few amps of current. That ability to recharge nearly anything that I'd need during an emergency is a game-changer for me. Alternatively, especially if my devices are already charged, the power station will enable me to keep my essential low-power devices operating for much longer during a power outage than in the past. The power station can be charged in various ways. It charges in about an hour using the included AC power cord (excellent, in my opinion) and in a few hours using a USB-C rapid charger that I use for my tablet. It can also be charged via an old-school 12-volt car socket, which I haven't tried it with but would presumably be an excellent feature when desperate during a power outage or on a long road trip.Ideally, this power station would be paired with a relatively high-wattage (e.g., 60-100 W), 11-28 V solar panel, which should enable me to keep all of my essential devices powered indefinitely during a power outage. Such solar panels are also made by Anker (and some third-parties) but they are optional accessories and a bit expensive (e.g., perhaps a few hundred dollars or so). Unfortunately, my 5 V, 30 W solar panel can't be used with the power station (so I'll keep using that panel to charge my 5-volt power bank as needed). Nevertheless, I'll keep keeping an eye out for a sale on a compatible high-wattage, higher-voltage solar panel.Charging devices with the power station is relatively straightforward. Simply connect USB devices to the ports as needed (after making sure that the total power draw won't be excessive) then press the unit's master power button. The unit's display conveniently shows the percentage of charge remaining, the ports that are in use, the charging wattage, the estimated charging time, etc. Using a good-quality USB-C cable, the unit rapid-charges my phone as well as the phone's wall charger does. Pressing the secondary power button enables or disables the three AC wall-type outlets, which is another nice feature. The power station can also be controlled via an Anker mobile app but, not wanting to install yet another app on my phone, I haven't tried that. Nevertheless, for my purposes, I'm able to operate the power station quite easily and effectively using its physical buttons (so I don't regret forgoing the app). The unit can also be used as an uninterruptible power supply (e.g., for an internet modem and router), which is a nice additional feature. Using the unit as a UPS should also ensure that it's fully charged when it's needed to power other devices during an emergency. The power station is advertised as being "portable" and I agree with that characterization but one should understand what that means in practice. Since it's a bit bulky and weighs just over 4 kg, it's easily hand carried for minutes at a time but, in contrast to one of its promotional photos, there's no way I'd consider hiking with it. For me, this unit is best hand-carried from room to room or to and from a car when longer-distance transport is needed. It fits comfortably in a car's trunk, footwell, or on a seat. The unit's portability makes it well-suited for camping and a range of other outdoor activities. For instance, the unit enables much longer sessions for nature, landscape, or drone photography (or even just drone flying). If one has spare batteries, one set can be used in the field while others are being charged via the power station (especially over lunch or other breaks). One caveat is the unit's 0-40 C charging temperature specification. That presumably means that the unit should only be used outside in shade during the summer (i.e., not left in a hot car) and kept inside a warm car or shelter during a Canadian winter.Overall, this portable power station is easy to use, well-made, and a game-changer for me. First and foremost, it greatly increases what I can power or recharge during a power outage -- and for how long. For rechargeable DC devices and low-power AC ones, it provides quite a bit of energy storge (though it's not suitable for powering high-power appliances like a microwave, toaster oven, or hair-dryer). During the next extended powe...

The Solix can be charged via AC power, solar, the two-way USB C port, or your car battery. I’ve not tested the solar charging yet, but I will when my solar panel arrives. While I don’t plan to lug this when backpacking (the SOLIX weighs about the same as a six-pack of beer, and I know what takes priority when I’m hiking! ), it will be perfect for cottage or car camping and will be so useful in power outages, which are becoming increasingly prevalent here in PEI. There’s a built-in programmable light that offers a soft, eye-friendly light that can be used for area illumination or a night light. I can outlast any power outage by charging my Kindle and making a giant cup of coffee. :-)The SOLIX is operated through an intuitive Anker app that can be accessed via Bluetooth or wifi. The setup process is straightforward, and the unit automatically checks for software updates. With the app, you can easily set parameters and monitor real-time output from each charging port. Additionally, a clear LCD panel displays battery levels, potential run time under load and other important information. In summary, the Anker SOLIX C300 strikes a perfect balance between power and portability. The unit is robust, as evidenced by the five-year warranty and the projected ten-year lifespan. Anker products are known for being overbuilt and underpriced, offering exceptional value for money.

This review is for the Anker SOLIX C300 288 W Portable Power Station. This solar generator comes with an AC power cord, a user guide and a warranty booklet. It is powered by 18 LiFePO4 batteries in a 6S3P configuration. That means that they are wired as 6 batteries in series and those wired packs are connected to each other in parallell. They are 5000 mah batteries that give a power rating of 19.2 volts and 15000 mah capacity, or 288 WH. These batteries can be recharged at least 3000 times and will still have 80% of their rated capacity. Its output consists of 1 USB-A, 3 USB-C, 1 cigar lighter socket, and 3 AC sockets. For charging the solar generator, there is an AC power cord (up to 330 watts), an XT 60 socket (up to 100 watts), a cigar lighter socket (100 watts), ... MoreThis review is for the Anker SOLIX C300 288 W Portable Power Station. For charging the solar generator, there is an AC power cord (up to 330 watts), an XT 60 socket (up to 100 watts), a cigar lighter socket (100 watts), and a USB-C socket which can accept up to 140 watts. Its physical dimensions are 16.4x16.1x26 cm and weighs 4.13 kg (9.1 lbs). It has wireless connectivity, through both bluetooth and 2.4 ghz wifi. After downloading the Anker app, you get a bit more control over your Solix C300. The app allows you to update its firmware, adjust its AC charge rate, setup a wifi connection, and set screen brightness amongst other things. The full product manual can be accessed from within the app.Because of its relative lightness, it can be easily taken with you for off grid use, and can be recharged by a solar panel. The solar panel's dc output should be 11-28 volts, and it can accept up to 100 watts of power, so it could conceivably be completely recharged from empty in about 3 hours. It can be charged up to 80% in 50 minutes via the AC power cord. It's AC outlet port is pure sine wave which has several advantages, one being there is less power loss. Additionally, it will help protect sensitive electronic devices plus reduce interference and noise. Another feature it has is what Anker calls SurgePad. Where a product needs more than 300 watts, SurgePad can run heavier load items, up to 600 watts, for certain appliances. Some items have a much higher starting requirement where there is an initial heavy starting load that quickly drops to a lower value (I.e. electric motor). This feature works better with devices that produce heat. It can also be used as a UPS through the AC ports, when plugged into AC power, and supports 10ms.i have run quite a few AC items including a 6" inline fan, a humidifier, a USB charge transformer, laptops, table lamps, and an electronic bug zapper, amongst other things. Many of these small load items will run for a fairly long time. For instance, the bug zapper that also has 2 18" florescent tubes only draws 19 watts, so will run for about 10 hours. The 6" fan running at a medium low speed will run for about 13 hours. The C300 can be very handy during a power failure. You can make sure your phone is charged, your internet modem and router are powered and you can run a light or 2. Speaking of lights, it has a built-in LED strip light that you a run on low, medium or high, drawing 1, 2 or 3 watts respectively. The light can also be run as an SOS signal.I like the way it's designed in regards to its cooling vents on both sides of the unit. You can actually see through to the other side which means it is has a large, free cooling path. Its internal fan will come on if it is being loaded up or charged at a high rate. The fan is quite noticeable, but not what I would characterize as being loud. The screen is small, but is sharp and displays a lot of information. This includes % of power remaining, DC load, AC load, connectivity, time remaining at present load, etc. It has a carrying handle that is part of the case, and also has 4 soft rubber feet to prevent it from sliding or scratching the surface it's on.What I think could be improved upon is to include a few extra items, considering its price. A cable for using a solar panel is optional, as well as a car charging cable and carrying strap. A waterproof bag would be a welcome addition, as the C300 is not resistant and it can not get wet. Also, the cigar lighter socket has no cover to keep debris out which I feel should be included. It seems to be a well designed unit with many options and features. It could be very valuable to have around during a power failure, as well as allowing you some portable power for light load items when off grid. I think its pricing, with the present $70 discount, is inline with other products giving similar capacities and options. It comes with a 5 year warranty. I have owned other Anker products in the past and found them reliable. If looking for a small portable power station, I think you should consider the Anker Solix C300.

The power bank has a nice oversized carrying handle as well as side lugs for a carrying strap (not included). The heartbeat of this power station is a 288Wh LiFePO4 battery that produces a continuous 300W output and can handle a surge output of 600W. It has an impressive charge reserve of 90,000 mAh. The power station is CSA/UL/ETL safety certified for North American use which is essential to see on foreign-made and imported electrical products to prevent electrocutions or fires from malfunctioning productsThe unit has a functional, no-nonsense eight (8) port layout: one (1) 12V/10A DC, INPUT/OUTPUT, one (1) 15W, USB-C OUTPUT, one (1) 140W, USB-C INPUT/OUTPUT, one (1) 140W, USB-C OUTPUT, one (1) 12W, USB-A OUTPUT, and three (3) 120V AC OUTPUTS. This configuration allows you to charge up to multiple devices simultaneously with a combined maximum draw of 360W and a maximum single port (USB-C) draw of 140W. The unit also has a very bright built-in LED light (High, Medium, Low, SOS modes), and an ON/OFF button. The unit has all the safety charging safeties that you would expect built-in: temperature protection, short circuit protection, over-current protection, over-voltage protection, and overload protection. The power bank has a large, backlit, easy-to-read LED display showing the status of the power bank including the remaining power and QC/PD charge mode. The large capacity 90,000mAh lithium-ion battery charges from dead empty to full in 1.5 hours using the 120V AC INPUT. The battery can be recharged in one of four ways: 12 DC car adapter (not included), detachable AC cord (included), 140W PD 3.1 USB-C port, or 100W solar panel (cable and panel not included). One of the features I like best is that this unit DOES support pass-through charging; meaning that you CAN charge your external devices at the same time as you are charging the power bank. Therefore, this unit can be used as an automatic UPS with less than a 10ms switchover making this unit ideal for emergency failsafe power backup. I live rurally and I bought this unit to act as an emergency UPS to power my STARLINK internet and internal MESH router in the event of a power outage. It can run both units for over 8-10 hours, more than a typical power outage. Another feature I like is you can wirelessly monitor/control your power station (by either WIFI or Bluetooth) via a comprehensive, well-laid-out, and easy-to-use APP.I am evaluating this product as part of the Amazon Vine program so I am limited to a 30-day window to submit a review. Only time will tell if the battery bank will have similar longevity and effective service life as other competitive products on the market. Therefore, I am going to monitor this product over the next 8-12 months of use and revise my review should problems arise.Cost-effectiveness and value: Overall I am very impressed with the product. At a current price of $369.99 plus a $100 off coupon, I feel this power bank is very competitively priced for its extra-large capacity and delivers great functionality. It’s a must-have for people who are active all day with chargeable devices and/or as an emergency power source. In summary: the “SOLIX C300 300W Portable Power Station” made by ANKER is a well-built, portable, versatile, ultra-large capacity power bank with a compact form factor that delivers excellent backup power to your devices at a competitive price. I would recommend this product without hesitation.Pros 👍:✔ Well-made rugged ABS plastic housing.✔ Nice matte black and grey finish.✔ Super big power high capacity 90,000mAh LiFePO4 battery.✔ Large and easy-to-read backlit LED display.✔ USB-C output: 2x 140W, 1x 100W, 1x 15W✔ USB-A output: 2x 12W✔ USB-C input: 2x 140W (total 280W)✔ XT60 solar input: 1x 100W/28V✔ Car charger output: 1x 120W✔ AC output: 3x 120V (total 300W✔ Ability to charge four (4) devices simultaneously with a combined maximum draw of 20W and maximum single port (USB-C) draw of 65W.✔ Built-in LED light (high, medium, low, SOS modes).✔ Built-in temperature protection, short circuit protection, over-current protection, over-voltage protection, and overload protection.✔ Powers your stuff for a long, long, time.✔ Pass-through charging capability; you can charge the power bank and your devices simultaneously.✔ Can be used as a UPS with a 10ms switchover.✔ Wirelessly monitor/control your power station (by either WIFI or Bluetooth) via ...

[Rewarded Review] Fantastic Power Bank for Home and Travel

Anker is well-known for making great portable charging and lithium ion battery devices like power banks, chargers, anything that keeps your battery-powered devices better and the C300X adds another fantastic device to their portfolio with a portable charging power station that allows multiple outputs and a smart capability that also tells you how much each connected device is drawing, how much sustained output the C300X has left in minutes, and how much charge % it has leftover. You can connect via the Anker app, which gives you info on how much each connected device is drawing, what temperature the battery housing is, and what % and remaining usage time at the current output as mentioned. I was able to charge and use a thin/light XPS13 drawing 60W, my iPhone 15 Pro Max, and M.2 iPad Air all at the same time without any issues and the C300X showed it could sustain that level of output for 4 Hours. It also tells you how fast it will charge via AC 120V input. You can also charge the C300X using an optional solar panel kit and while the marketing documentation shows someone carrying this thing with solar panels charging, unless you are really out on some outdoor expedition without a power source and need to power a bunch of devices, I'm not sure how feasible this really is given the C300X weighs about 10lbs and is kind of big to sling around, although it is very compact for what it is.What the C300X is absolutely perfect for is Camping where you can stick it by the camp fire or inside a tent and power or charge your devices. Or at the beach, where you can stick it under an umbrella or shade shelter and power your tunes or even a small fan for your kids. I also use it for powering my BBQ equipment where I sometimes run out of power near the end of a long cook, I can plug my FireBoard2 into the C300X and get some extra power. There's also a built-in light, a nice carrying handle, Car Port, 120V, USB-A and USB-C outputs. Truly a great travel companion outside the house, but also a great power/charging hub inside the house. You can even use it like a UPS if you wanted to by plugging it in near your internet router and plugging your router into the C300X to keep it running if your power goes out. Given the router only uses 45W or so, you can power it for about 6 hours with the C300X to keep your internet going.

[Rewarded Review] Perfect tailgating companion!
16 October 2024

I got this this little solar generator just in time for the Brewers' post season run and some spectacular end of summer sunshine! The Anker SOLIX C300X is very lightweight and portable, weighing only about 9 pounds in total, definitely something that you could sling over your shoulder and carry with you on a hike like Anker's website shows, but I'd rather just set it on a table or my balcony. It charges incredibly fast via the AC wall plug and can be used as a UPS (uninterruptable power supply), pretty fast via the two-way 140-watt USB-C port, and in about 3 hours with decent sunshine and a 100-watt solar panel (I think that's fast for what it is, but I think Anker could've bumped it up to being 200-watt capable). On a full solar charge, I was able to run my 32" 4k TV/Monitor streaming baseball & movies for 6 hours while also charging a Sony Bluetooth speaker and two phones! While tailgating, we were able to keep running for the full 3.5 hours we were in the parking lot at AmFam Field running the same 32" monitor, charging phones, and running a small griddle (pulling ~100w). I had deployed our solar panel on the roof of our car to maximize the sunlight, brat grilling and bag toss space! This thing works great! I wouldn't run a full griddle off of it or expect it to operate a microwave or heavy-duty coffee maker at all or for long, it only has a max boost of 600 watts and a normal AC draw of 300 wats, but those 3 AC outlets are amazing to have!Overall, I would highly recommend this amazing little solar generator if you're looking for a convenient little solar battery generator to power your camp, patio, tailgating adventure, or hike (if you're like the guy in the pictures!). When this is teamed up with a nice foldable solar panel, it's portability is unbeatable! If you don't need the AC plugs, don't worry! Anker makes the same one in a DC only version with a pop-up light instead of the neat light bar!

I've been using the Anker SOLIX C300X portable power station for a few weeks now and it’s a great product --- but set your expectations. This station is compact and easily fits into a bookbag or you can carry it on its own and use the included shoulder strap. It also has a handle and feels really solid with great build quality.I took it out with some friends on a recent football tailgate where it charged five cell phone simultaneously using both Type C and regular outlets (it can charge up to 7 at the same time). We were even able to watch the end of the previous games before going into the stadium, but with a 288 Watt hour capacity, it won’t last forever (if you don't have solar panels). We were very cautious to get the most juice out of it, but this was actually quite easy with the built in display that calculates the remaining battery life in real-time.This is not meant to replace your generators – so before the recent hurricanes, we fully charged the Anker power station in case we needed to charge our computers. At the lowest power settings, my home televisions still draw 90 Watts/hour, which results in 3 hours of battery life, so that wasn’t going to be a viable option. If necessary, I had intended to use it to power my cable modem on occasion. So my biggest piece of advice is just to plan in advance at this product will come in really handy UNLESS you spring for some solar cells. Anker sells some convenient and foldable/portable solar panels that will charge this device. I recently received mine, and while it was easy to setup, I realized that getting the full 100 Watt solar charging is only in perfect conditions. This will be really valuable while going camping but it will add some weight to your trip. Which reminds me – it has a very powerful flashlight, which is a nice added bonus. But if you are going to a remote location, this will provide a nice option for people who have limited access to power. So all in, this is a great device for people who are in need of short-term power– just have a plan and be prepared to keep an eye on the remaining capacity OR get some solar panels to provide extra juice.
