APC (BE700G-AZ) Power Saving Back-UPS ES 8 Outlet 700VA 230V

I've had APC UPSes before and this one doesn't disappoint. With the features such as 4 pwr back ups and 4 surge protected, with one of these operating live with unit off and main switch on. This is great for daisy chaining to increase capacity. It has a small niggle though. Not sure if its limited to my one, but there is often a high pitch noise (Ok if your hearing is less acute) being emitted, which can be annoying if absent noise is low.

I use this UPS to supply power to my home network router, switch, wireless access point and ONT. It supplies enough power to keep things working during a power cut and that was tested out for me for 3 hours a couple of nights ago when it performed as expected. It has the advantage of having 4 backup outlets rather than the usual 3.The only disadvantage I have found is that there is no way to mute the beeps it makes to warn when it switches over to battery power. That could present a problem for some people depending where it is located in relation to where people are sleeping etc.

Being rural we have regular power outages. This back up means power stays on to cover power outages and we don't have to reset internet etc.

Plugged this and it just worked. Didn't try anything fancy but it seems to do the job. The power points are widely spaced so you can use all the outlets with the various power packs.Used to keep modems and the Fibre ONT powered up during power outages.There is a spare bank of outlets that are not protected but have surge protection which is handy for this sort of home use. The form factor suits being on the ground under a desk.Overall a good product at this price point.

Good Home UPS

Compact size for home use, with reasonable off-grid time (30 mins) for several devices (Desktop PC, NAS, NBN, router, monitor and phone). Being a known brand (APC), it also integrates with the NAS to automatically switch it off, if power goes out when I'm away. And it is made in the Philippines, not China, which is brilliant because every dollar that buys China-made products supports their evil ways. Good on you APC!

Horrible constant buzzing noise!

It does what it should but I wold rather loose any unsaved work than having to listen to this all the time. Even when it is shut off it makes annoying sounds
