There's nothing worse than pets chewing on power cords! But, like always (they seem to have EVERYTHING you might electronically need) Best Buy to the rescue. I acquired a new Apple - 85W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter with Magnetic DC Connector and I was back in business in short order with my older model MacBook Air. It's nice to know there's someone reliable in the ever changing field of electronics.

Yes this may be more expensive than the imitation alternatives. I had to replace the original genuine Apple charger that was unfortunately accidentally damaged. I bought a cheap imitation product that lasted around 18 months before flickering and eventually the T tip failed. This genuine Apple product worked immediately out-of-the box and with a little care will outlast the MacBook Pro which has given me 8 yrs good service.

There is an AC cord if you need a longer cord. If this is not value for money then I don’t know what is. I believe I would buy this same adapter if the need for the same ever arose since I have already derived value for my money. I can’t talk about its durability but I know for sure that it won’t last forever. This is a given with all adapters eventually. The only difference between this adapter and the corded adapters is that the corded adapters wear off quickly compared to this one. It is a genuine product. Need I say more? Apple is a working horse in the computers stable and it shouldn’t come as a surprise that this adapter works as advertised. I don’t have a problem recommending this adapter to anyone looking for an affordable and quality adapter for their MacBook pro. Highly recommended!

The previous Magsafe had worked a long time on the used 2015 Macbook Pro purchased from MacSales. When it wouldn't work anymore, wasn't sure whether the Magsafe or a failing battery was at fault. Took a chance & ordered the new MagSafe 2 Power Adapter,which worked right away. Realized the battery was OK because the computer started, but had been losing charge because the original Magsafe had apparently been the problem. Now a happy camper.

It’s simply that the material isn’t able to withstand reasonable regular daily stress of use, it’s brilliant white covering is great at staying untangled but Apple need to find a different material for all their power cables that can stand reasonable daily use for many years. And unfortunately there is no alternative because the company create their own MacBook attachments that are are available no where else.
It was a fake. The cable was stiffer than the original. The insulation was harder. The clips to wind the cable on opened only half-way. Most importantly, the green LED came on the instant I plugged it into the laptop. Real Apple chargers have a delay while the charger and laptop do some handshaking. I once tried using one that didn't, and it killed the battery in a month. Returning it, of course. To be fair about it, the company may have sold the charger in good faith. It does carry the Apple logo. If so, their supplier really let them down.
The REAL DEAL. Perfect unit. Has the right voltage and wattage 85 watts for my Macbook Pro. I had been using a smaller wattage unit as a spare in the living room but the transformer really got super hot. Now the REAL 85W unit works great and because it's the correct (And a real APPLE unit) It works PERFECTLY !! Super happy
It gets very, very hot and I've had other knockoff chargers that almost burned my house down. I unplugged this before it became untouchably hot.This is advertised as "genuine", which is why I bought it, but I'm not convinced. The packaging, described as "bulk" was fine but the writing was all in Chinese. The charger light is slightly different than the charger purchased from Apple. This was for "Apple Genuine 85W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter for MacBook Pro with Retina Display (2012-2015)" since the reviews seem to be for multiple products.
I bought this charger 11 months ago. It worked fine up until about a month ago. I started noticing that the power supply would get very warm while being plugged into an outlet but disconnected from my laptop. Now the Magsafe 2 connector no longer lights up or charges when connected. The power supply is very hot to the touch when plugged in. I brought my Macbook Pro to a local repair shop and they swapped the power supply with one of theirs and charging now works again.It's hard to imagine that this charger only lasted 11 months while the original one lasted 6 years. The only reason why I replaced the original one was because of a frayed wire. The folks at OWC are great but I am not sure if I would buy a power supply here again. The new power adapter works perfectly, but I am disappointed that this is now the 3rd power adapter I am on with this computer. The first one failed while the warranty was still in effect. The second one failed a few months after the warranty expired. That is not the fault of MacSales, it is the fault of Apple, for not making the cord more durable.
