I especially like the fact that the hinge charging port is on the left side since the iPad charging port is on the right. Again, its nice to have choices.7. The keyboard is a perfect size for the iPad. It is not super lightweight but it is lightweight enough. If I need to worry about weight I can easily remove the iPad and use it without the keyboard.

This was one of the best purchases I've made for my older generation iPad. It made it feel like a new device. The keyboard is fantastic, and I love the addition of a mouse. It's also nice being able to charge with the secondary port so I can plug other devices in at the same time without a dongle. I also no longer have to struggle getting the angle right as this keyboard allow you to swivel up and down.It does add a little bit more weight to the iPad, which could be a negative for some. But if you want to get your iPad as close as possible to performing double duty as a laptop and tablet, this is a must. This keyboard is not cheap, but if you can afford it you won't be sorry.

There is added weight with the Magic Keyboard cover, heavier than a MacBook Air.

Must-have for work on the go
2 September 2022

I purchased this case on a whim when I got an iPad Air (M1) at the last minute to be able to take work on the go for a conference. I can't imagine not having this keyboard! It was absolutely essential at the conference. The trackpad is my favorite part about this keyboard. I'm typically a laptop user, and bought this combo when my MacBook STILL hadn't arrived (it was a custom order, it took months due to supply chain issues). Going from keyboard to trackpad is much more natural for me than going from keyboard to screen, and it reduced my fingerprints on the screen, which can drive me nuts, lol. The case itself definitely adds weight to the device, but I personally don't mind, because it secures it to the surface I sit it on that much more. Having a USB-C port for charging at the keyboard level is a great addition, so you don't have a cord sticking out the end of your device. Is this a case for your iPad? No. Does it provide minimal protection for your iPad while using the keyboard? Yes.

Preferred Brydge Pro+ to Apple Magic Keyboard.
4 September 2022

I bought both the Apple Magic Keyboard and the Brydge Pro+ for my new M1 11” iPad Pro. I took the Magic Keyboard back and kept the Brydge Pro+. I have had Brydge keyboards since my iPad Air and iPad Pro 10.7”. The Brydge is Bluetooth and has to be recharged every few month's but once paired, works as soon as it’s opened. The Magic Keyboard pairs automatically and charges from the iPad. I liked that I could easily ‘Swipe Up” and remove my iPad from the Apple Magic. The ‘hang in the air’ design of the Apple was only good for typing on a table. The Brydge is good everywhere from recliner to sofa to bed and goes from 0 - 180 degrees verses 125 degrees on the Apple. Brydge also has an extra row of function keys which is missing on the Apple. The Brydge trackpads is slightly bigger but the Apple has more multi-touch gestures. The Brydge’s Aluminum design feels more solid but also weighs more than Apple’s. If you want to remove your iPad often and prefer the increased trackpad gestures, get the Apple Magic Keyboard for $249-$299. If you plan to keep it attached and like using it ‘everywhere’, get the Brydge Pro+, which I found on sale at BB for $120 last year.

Pretty Good, Not worth the Hype

It's wild that so many blind apple fans are giving this 5 stars. I guarantee they've never tried a third party keyboard case or a surface.

However, upon holding the 12.9” with the magic keyboard I was shocked at how HEAVY it felt. Considering the additional $300 for the larger screen I figured I’d opt for the 11 inch and test it out for a few weeks and reevaluate. That turned out to be the best decision I could have made. Even with the magic keyboard attached the 11” iPad Pro is light weight and extremely versatile. I feel that the 11 inch with the magic keyboard strikes the perfect balance as I can work and draw with it, holding it in my hands, on my lap, etc and only after hours do I start to notice the weight. If it were the 12.9” that could quickly become cumbersome. Additionally, with the Apple silicon M1 chip The screen is extremely snappy and can zoom in very close for illustration purposes. In my opinion this negates the need for the larger screen. You can choose a canvas size that’s larger than the screen of the iPad and zoom in and out to draw, as necessary. Lastly the build quality of the magic keyboard is nothing short of excellent. I can hold it by the corner with the iPad attached and the magic keyboard open and it does not bend, and does not feel like it’s going to break. If you are a writer or simply want a fantastic keyboard to go along with your iPad I would highly recommend grabbing the magic keyboard.-STORAGE-worh the USB-C port on the magic keyboard and one on the iPad itself, it was an easy decision for me to go with the 128GB version. SS drives and HD drives have come down in price drastically over the past few years and will continue to drop - therefore I saw higher value in purchasing storage as I needed , versus paying upfront to get it locked into the iPad.

So disappointing
1 July 2022

First of all, this keyboard is HEAVY. It only allows one tilt view, which ends up hovering over the top line of keys on the keyboard (not very smart). I want to be able to tilt my screen further back, but this doesn't allow that. The keyboard is small and the tracking pad is ridiculously small. This will not sit in my lap well at all, and I do all of my computing on my lap. It only allows the iPad to be attached by a magnet, and while I was working on it, my iPad slipped off of the keyboard magnet several times!!! This is inexcusable as it is very inconvenient, and could cause damage. Also, if you drop your iPad, there is no protection whatsoever, and it's possible your iPad could completely fall out of this and onto a hard floor, breaking it. Again, not very smart ... MoreFirst of all, this keyboard is HEAVY. It only allows one tilt view, which ends up hovering over the top line of keys on the keyboard (not very smart). I have always purchased Apple accessories for my Apple devices, but I returned this keyboard. I am sticking with the Logitech Smart Keyboard, which completely protects my iPad, has multiple tilting positions, and a much larger track pad and keyboard. NOTE: This keyboard costs more than twice what the Logitech Smart Keyboard costs and is nowhere near as nice.

iPad Pro and Air Cover is good but...

I will be the first to admit that this is a very expensive keyboard/iPad cover. There are plenty of alternatives that can give you similar functionality. I was able to purchase this at a price match that was nearly 100 off the retail price so it made it worth it.The build quality, like all things Apple, is exceptional. The keys feel like a magic keyboard with just the right amount of tactile feel. The trackpad is useful and sort of converts an iPad into a light laptop. There is pass though charging too so you don't have to plug-in two cables to charge the keyboard cover and the iPad which is really nice. And the way that the cover holds the iPad is great, it feels very sturdy and hasn't failed on me yet, and the ability to change the angle of the screen is amazing. However, the cover does hide the beautiful color options you can get with your iPad (mine is Blue but I forget that it is because the cover is on 99.9% of the time), this can be a benefit as well if have an iPad Air/Pro that wasn't your first color choice. The cover is slim fitting, and it does add a bit of bulk to the iPad and is adding a bit of weight to the iPad as well. I don't know if it's any heavier or lighter than any other 3rd party covers but I did notice that the iPad Air feels less "airy" with the cover on, and I am sure this would be similar with Logitech or other keyboard covers as well. This keyboard cover is designed to hold the iPad in landscape mode much like a laptop, so if you're just looking to do some reading with the iPad or need a cover that folds out of the way, you may want to look at a secondary option for a case when you want to have it hand held and reading, as the keyboard does get in the way of holding it in portrait orientationOverall, I would recommend this if it's in your budget, and definitely recommend it if you are able to get a better price on it. But at full price I'd at least consider looking at the 3rd parties to see if what they have to offer is comparable for what your needs are.Pros:- Build quality- Keyboard feel- Pass-thru charging- Tilt and angle adjustment- Attaches securely- Converts iPad Air and Pro into a mini-laptopCons:- Price- Color options- Added weight- No portrait mode orientation- Cannot fold the keyboard out of the way
