My original board suddenly stopped working. I was in the middle of finishing a financial analysis report for work. I was in a panic ... as it had to be completed in less than 3 hours. I drove to Best Buy, not even worried about not finding what I needed. It is my " go to " place for so many items. I purchased this one ( must be popular....there were only 2 left ). Drove back home as fast as I could. There was absolutely no drama at all !! Connection to the monitor was so easy !!! I was able to finish my report with 25 minutes to spare !!!

It's a great keyboard but kind of hard to justify the price. The ONLY reason you would want/need to get this is if you use it with the latest M-chip variant Mac's. If you use Intel, get the non-touchID because:1. touchID on keyboard will not work on Intel2. non-touchID is cheaperHonestly, it's so convenient using the touchID on my MBP for all security authentication, so bringing this to my Mac Mini M1 was a big improvement to just typing in the password.In short, I paid the extra premium of a keyboard just to have touchID. This keyboard is a great product, from the build quality to the functionality it provides. Its biggest feature is perhaps support for macOS features like function key control and touch ID. Also, the battery lasts a long time. My keyboard is now 50% charged and I think the last time I connected it to power was over a month ago. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

It appears the touchID only works when the keyboard is physically wired to the machine, but I have not tested this extensively, but I think this is correct. I run an M1 Mac mini and being able to add Apple Pay and TouchID to this machine is really fantastic. The travel on the he keys is slightly abrupt. Meaning I also use a Corsair K95 RGP. Platinum XT and switch back and forth between these two keyboards depending on what I'm doing. The travel distance difference between the two can be a bit rough when you switch back and forth. I have just recently moved from a Windows Pc to the Mac Mini Pro. At first the move was difficult as I was unfamiliar with the working of the Apple system but I soon began to get used to it and finally to love it. The Apple Magic Keyboard is really neat and small. It doesn't take up much desktop space and the scrabble like keys are really comfortable to use. The Touch ID key saves a lot of time when logging in or for any other task that requires a password. The Touch ID is really easy to set up. I would really recommend this keyboard
Easy to set up and use. Instantly starts working because it connects right away and lets you know on screen it is connected. Also shows connection & battery percentage at the top.Built-in Touch ID does work great. *But it has some moments it would rather be pressed in rather than lightly “tapped” but I think that’s a software issue rather than issue with keyboard itself.Battery life is phenomenal. I haven’t had to charge it yet, I’ve had it a little over a month with constant daily college student use.Comfortable to type on and use for hours at a time. I have to type up a lot of papers and I don’t find my fingers or wrist cramping at all. I don’t use any wrist pads or anything like that.

Not only can that device link up to 3 devices, it has backlit keys, a mute key for your microphone, a screenshot key, charges with USB-C, and types better than the Apple Magic keyboard. The Apple keyboard makes a slapping sound while the Logitech makes a more pleasant and muted "thunk" sound when typing. The Logitech MX Keys Mini comes in black or white and has a 10-key option as well for just a few dollars more, but I prefer the Mini arrangement as a desktop space saving alternative.
Buyer beware. Sleek and sexy, but know after an hour with Apple customer service, the Touch ID does NOT work with anything other than apple apps or software. I have the top Mac M1 Max and the Apple Studio Display but still, it will NOT work with Google Chrome browsers. It will NOT work for the password to start up your computer. You can NOT use it for any other browsers other than Safari, and even then it will only work in some instances. If you are buying this, as I did, for the Touch ID feature, just know the instances where it does not work vastly outweighs the instances it may and didn't make it worth buying for my use.
This device was to replace my old magic keyboard for my old MacMini. I recently purchased a newer M1 mac mini and I thought it would be great to have a fingerprint reader like I use for my WindowsPC.To my chagrin, This device will NOT allow you to login to your MAC from a cold boot. It will NOT even allow you to log back in after logging out. Apple Help says this is not a design flaw but done on purpose "for security reasons".W H Y ? ? ?I am an IT Admin and IT security expert. Please educate me on these security reasons.Windows, Linux, Android do not seem to have this shortcoming. For the price of this keyboard it should also do device switching and make me a dang coffee!
