Decent "Apple" keyboard but better alternatives.

(Silver/Black-key version)I really wanted to like this keyboard, as it matched my 2021 MacBook M1 Pro much better than than the silver/white keyboard along with having a similar (NOT THE SAME) layout as the keyboard on the laptop itself.The keyboard itself is too wide to quickly use a mouse along with it. At the time of my purchase, the full-size was the only available option. I would have preferred a TKL option.It has a noticeable different type-feel compared to the keyboard on the 16" MacBook M1 Pro; the keys have a bit more "clack", and are shaped and spaced a little differently, especially the space bar -- having an almost round/sloped feel compared to the flatness of the macbook keyboard.Another feature I would have liked would be backlighting. Good, if expensive, Keyboard for Apple Silicon Mac

TouchID keyboard is nice to have. Not having to type passwords over and over, but rather just touch the sensor is nice.It's a Mac keyboard through and through. The feel isn't like your beloved IBM Model M, but for a modern keyboard, it's good.There is definitely an apple-tax applied here, and for the price the lack of backlighting on the keys is a bummer. I can type almost as fast on this as I can on a proper mechanical keyboard, so no issues there. It takes just a little bit of recalibration of typing pressure.Battery life is exceptional, and it paired immediately with my new Mac Studio (and should do the same on any M-series Apple Silicon Mac). Great Magic Keyboard--love the Touch ID button!!!

Great keyboard! I use my MacBook Pro as my everyday computer for work and I have it attached to two additional wide monitors. Because of this, my MacBook is on the left side of my desk set-up. I like the extra convenience and security of the fingerprint option, but until I got this new keyboard I had to lean over to reach the fingerprint button on my MacBook. The Magic Keyboard as a whole is super comfortable to use. I love the clicking sound it makes (not too loud) and the chicklet feel of the buttons. I do prefer the black keyboard to the white one. I'm actually buying this one to replace the white Magic Keyboard I spilled coffee on.

Great keyboard, but overpriced

I had to buy the Magic Keyboard since my M2 Mac mini was displaying a considerable delay between input of my Logitech Wave Keyboard to being displayed. After this happened a few times I was fed up with it and was about to buy the non-numeric pad Magic Keyboard with Touch ID. After testing it on the iMacs on display, I went with the Magic Keyboard with both the Touch ID and numeric Keypad. This decision was worth it, but definitely not worth the price tag, since Dell sells their multi-device keyboard for $100. However, for the time I have been using this, the keyboard feels amazing. Haven't gotten any hand/finger cramps like I did with a certain bland looking Logitech keyboard for work.

Overall I have found this keyboard to be very good for my purposes. It is certainly compact and light for a full function keyboard with number pad. Even though the keyboard is very light, small pads on the back make it very stable with no sliding around on the desk top. At my level of usage recharging the Magic Keyboard is required very infrequently. The number pad and Touch ID were the driving factors in my purchase because I never advanced beyond one finger, by sight use of linear number keys. I would actually grade this keyboard closer to but just short of 5 because (a) I find the alphabetic key placement to feel a little close, (b) I still like the more pronounced depressions on the Logitech keys but I am getting more accustomed to the Magic Keyboard, (c) ... MoreOverall I have found this keyboard to be very good for my purposes. The Logitech MX Keys for Mac is better

I had to get a new keyboard that was Mac compatible out the box, and really hoped this was going to be worth the cost. It definitely has a much higher build quality than almost any other keyboard, including similarly priced gaming ones. And I love that it has Touch ID (which also works great, never had an issue). And it arguably has the fastest keystroke response time of any wireless keyboard I’ve ever tried.However, there are 2 cons that were just too big for me to keep it. First, the keyboard not only doesn’t have any height/angle adjustment, but the default is way too flat to type comfortably for extended periods of time. $30 keyboards have had this feature for decades. Not only can that device link up to 3 devices, it has backlit keys, a mute key for your microphone, a screenshot key, charges with USB-C, and types better than the Apple Magic keyboard. The Apple keyboard makes a slapping sound while the Logitech makes a more pleasant and muted "thunk" sound when typing. The Logitech MX Keys Mini comes in black or white and has a 10-key option as well for just a few dollars more, but I prefer the Mini arrangement as a desktop space saving alternative.
