Using Apple phone remote app when connected to the same WiFi AirPlay to fling any photo, music, video, or streaming app to my TV is very fast. Used as a home hub to control smart home A few disappointments: Netflix doesnt work with AirPlay Home automations dont work for Home hub My TV screen saver doesnt turn on while in Apple TV, so Im at risk of burn in, and I dont like the Apple TV screen saver Apple TV remote app doesnt work when Apple TV is plugged into the Ethernet - it needs to be on the same WiFi network, however everything else works (like AirPlay)

My Apple TV Box was super easy to install on my tv/Directv adapter. I had to purchase an hdmi cord and bam! It all worked great. I purchased the box because the Internet did not work on my smart TV in my guestroom. So the Apple box does the job. It was less expensive than replacing the TV. Better than new!

You can't download apps. You could only use what's been selected. And the NetFlix doesn't show the movie selections like the 4th Generation. It must have been ok in the past, but very outdated compared with the 4th Generation.

Had to buy one at this price!! Fabulous piece of kit especially aimed at iPhone 4s or later users. You can mirror/cast everything on your iPhone to the big screen wirelessly , (providing you have a hdmi input) and access your full iTunes library.The unit is sleek and slick in operation. NowTv works a dream, hopefully more desirable apps will become available. But no matter if you have an iPhone as you can mirror all the apps you have on there!Grab it at this price whilst you can!
This Apple device seems to be well worth what I paid.I havent used it much but it was a little challenging to set up. The device came set to a foreign language and no instructions. Once I figured how to change the language set up went alright. I will know more about the device after I have time to use it more.
I have had my Apple TV for a month or two now and I love it. I've watched the entire series of House already! Not long after purchasing it, a software update was rolled out by Apple, giving the platform a fresher feel, as it did seem slightly outdated if I'm honest. I've used many of its features already, including AirPlay and the Netflix app, and it has not disappointed. The only gripe I feel I should mention is that the remote that comes with the device is annoyingly small. I don't have particularly large thumbs but I always seem to press the wrong button accidentally. Could do with a redesign as I'm sure many would agree! The remote is, however, stylish and solid. I would recommend this product!
Good Points: Now I can watch all my favourite films. Catch up on my favourite YouTube channels and friends videos. Also select all my music and films I have purchased. Although it doesn't allow me to access my playlists I can still pick genres. Just to warn people. You can't access Spotify through it, but you can play through the device if you have it on your computer but that's just silly because then you have 2 things using power.Improvement Points: No more updates available. Cannot add apps.
This is the latest 1080p HD streaming box from Apple. I bought it to replace my out of date 720p one and I am so happy with increase in HD quality. Just watching HD trailers makes this a joy to use. I also have iTunes match which allows me to access my entire music database on my TV from iCloud. Seamlessly streams iPhone and iPad, plus now, if you have a mac running the latest software, you can stream that too. You can also mirror the desktop which would be amazing if you ever need to do presentations or bore the family with your holiday photos.
Purchased this to stream biking apps. But came to discover this generation can only mirror off another apple device. Of course the next gen. can stream apps without mirroring. Typical of the planned obsolescence within Apples Core Strategy. Reminds me of when I had iTunes on an old PC and an iMac. All the sudden my iPod was incompatible with the iMacs OS, but ran fine on the old PC. Apples recommendation, upgrade or buy a new iMac...
