The Apple Watch is great looking and has a range of beautiful straps to choose from so you can get create your own style and colour choice. The watch itself comes in different colour frames also. The watch has such great features, you can answer a call on it, receive and reply to texts. Track your activity for the day, monitor your heart rate and do relaxation exercises to name but a few. Great value for money as Apple quality is always outstanding. The only thing I would change is the watch screen as I have a tendency to hit my arm against doors and scratch the screen, by accident of course. Maybe the screen could be a lot more hardy . The battery life is great, and if just used for basic features you can get a couple of days without charging. I was skeptical at first when I bought this watch seeing as it was the SE version which automatically made me assume it would be cheaply made and inoperable. Boy was I wrong. I have had one Apple Watch prior to this one and this one is better in every aspect. The battery life is about a day and a half for me which is comparable to most smart watches. The display looks very robust and appealing. I haven’t had any issues with the heart rate monitor or the sleep tracker which are both freaking awesome and accurate. I saw many other reviews saying the smaller version can be a bit hard to read which I haven’t had any problems with at all. It’s very easy to use and there are tons of applications for it. I hope my review helped clear up any doubts people me be having while ... MoreI was skeptical at first when I bought this watch seeing as it was the SE version which automatically made me assume it would be cheaply made and inoperable. I had an Apple Watch previously. This is a major upgrade to the prior version, and provides several features not available in prior versions. Examples include, multiple exercise modes, more customizations in watch faces and mirroring of the iPhone which wasn’t available in prior versions. It has a very good read back feature for texts, voice memos, it also allows gaming of certain games on the watch screen. The newest Apple Watch iOS has made improvements which were much needed for being a player in the smart phone market. I use it all the time. There’s an improvement in the battery life, which is great for somebody like me who uses it for multiple applications!

Battery is awful
29 June 2024

Love everything except battery life. I had it for ten months working well and lasting almost all day, charged it every night and then around ten months it wouldn’t hold a charge more than a few hours. Sent it to be “fixed”, sent back and still the same issue. Called and after a long phone call they sent an express replacement but this one also won’t hold a charge more than six hours. I can put it on low battery mode and it still dies before dinner. I’m over it. They say the battery health is just fine, but it absolutely won’t stay on through a day. What good is it if I can only use it through mid afternoon? I only use it for texts and calls pretty much. I’ve turned off automatic downloads and removed most apps. It’s just frustrating.

Competitive price and features.

This is my third Apple Watch. My last was a 3rd generation, and this is a very noticeable upgrade. It's beautifully crafted, but the balance of features and price are what makes it a winner. It may be missing a few of the health features, but has the main ones most people need. It's also quick and responsive with a good screen. I like the fact that my straps from my old 3rd generation watch fit. Apple has a page on their website to help you check compatibility. I've been using it for over a month now, and it's fully lived up to expectations. The added year of guarantee from JL is as always, nice to have. If you don't need the extra specifications on the models above this is a really solid choice.

Disappointing battery life!
24 October 2024

My wife and I have been using Apple Watches for several years and have loved them. With our daughter growing older, we did not want to get her a cell phone for communication, so we opted for the Apple Watch SE 2. Sadly, it leaves a lot to be desired from the parental side. Our daughter loves the Apple Watch, but the use of tracking and cell phone and text services is almost not worth the price of the watch, and the battery life is terrible, in my opinion. Our daughter puts the watch on just before school, charged up at 100%, and it barely lasts through the school day, eventually dying while she's in her after-school program, leaving her unable to contact us. I have shut off tactics and dimmed the brightness on the screen to try to conserve power, even having the watch in school mode for her entire school day, and it still dies shortly after she gets out of school. Sadly, we also live in an area where Verizon service is not so great, so trying to get a clear call through her is challenging as well. I would not recommend this watch if cell service is bad in your area or if you are looking for all-day battery life.

My first smart watch.. ever!
25 May 2024

I was very apprehensive to get this device. I have avoided all other smart devices for the wrist. You know the popular brand. I was at Best Buy and had an honest conversation with one of the guys in the Geek squad about his personal Apple Watch SE. the conversation convinced me to get this. I am super impressed with the features and the easy syncing with my iPhone. I am not 100% happy with the 48hr battery life but it got better when I turned off some notifications. Also, I use the charge time to give my wrist a break. HahaI recommend this for newer folks like me or if you’re simply looking for the basics. I can’t SCUBA dive with this one but who really does that every day? This watch does more than I need for daily life in the city.

Save your time and money if your thinking of using with a stand alone plan
9 July 2024

Got my son this watch on a stand alone cellular plan with Verizon and not sure if it’s the watch, apple or Verizon that I’m fed up with. 1st off shouldnt take 3 hours to set up a watch (had to do this twice since they replaced a new one after just 2 weeks because of the issues) and 2nd we are luck if out of 12 times trying to call my son one of the calls actually goes through. Or the fact that calls he tries to make on the watch are about 1 in 10 that go through. In the first 2 weeks of having this watch I spent a good 8 hours in person and on the phone with Verizon and the best they could come up with is “it’s a known stand alone apple watch issue”. Not sure how that’s ok to sell a product as working one way and then say ohh that’s a known issue and too bad and we ... MoreGot my son this watch on a stand alone cellular plan with Verizon and not sure if it’s the watch, apple or Verizon that I’m fed up with. 1st off shouldnt take 3 hours to set up a watch (had to do this twice since they replaced a new one after just 2 weeks because of the issues) and 2nd we are luck if out of 12 times trying to call my son one of the calls actually goes through. [Rewarded Review] Better than the ultra 2!?!
10 August 2024

The budget Apple Watch is probably the best Apple Watch. Let’s face it most people get the watch to look at daily metrics like step count and heart rate and have a quick glance a text messages as they come in. Well this delivers that just as good as an ultra watch. Trust me I have both. If you aren’t sneered the celular, I recommend this option over all the others, because the price is very reasonable and you get all the important features and none of the fluff. You can’t find your phone, it can ping it and make it ring. You get a text message while at the movies, you can see the message without having a super bright blinding screen distracting people. You like to control your music while working out? what a relief an easy to get to control. You need a quick timer ... MoreThe budget Apple Watch is probably the best Apple Watch. And for what it’s worth I own the ultra 2!

[Rewarded Review] Great safety features for kids
16 August 2024

I purchased this watch for my kid who needs to contact me after school. I chose an Apple Watch over the option of a cell phone because I’m not comfortable with the many safety risks that may occur with a smart phone in the hands of a child even with all of the safety features turned on. The safety features for kids specifically with an Apple Watch vs an iPhone are really great if you create an Apple ID for your child, chose the option to set it up for someone else, and adjust all of the features to the highest protections possible. My kid is only able to send/receive calls and texts from approved contacts, has a school time feature enabled with time parameters of my choosing, the option to set downtimes for sleep at night, and the ability to totally restrict apps ... MoreI purchased this watch for my kid who needs to contact me after school. So far so good. I purchased Apple Care rather than Walmart’s protection plan. I do wish more band colors were available through Walmart but I have already replaced the band to one that fits my kid better.
