Light, warm down jacket shines as an alpine midlayer and versatile standalone. *The Cerium Jacket was previously the Cerium LT Jacket. Proven across a range of alpine missions and backcountry adventures, the Cerium packs small, weighs little, and delivers big warmth. The design refined for optimal fit and efficiency utilizes more sustainable materials while delivering the same outstanding warmth-to-weight ratio. Responsibly-sourced 850 fill down with Coreloft synthetic utilized in areas prone to moisture provides premium insulation. The recycled 15D Arato nylon outer is light and durable, the bio-derived liner reduces petroleum use, and the streamlined design is articulated for freedom of movement.

Extremely Lightweight Utilitarian Jacket

Weight: unbelievably light and compactable. Warmth: very warm, more so if wearing something over it. Body/Torso Fit: rather tight; would like a little more room body/torso area. Shoulder/Arm Fit: very comfortable; much room to move arms, neck, and shoulders; no binding at all. Color: quite pleasant blue-black, indeed. Zipper: looks and feels a little under substantial for such a high quality jacket; reported to be less than sturdy by some reviewers; no problems here; seems to work well. Price: well...rather high.

Good jacket, but not for me.

This jacket game way past the delivery, so I was not able to use it for my trip. This was extremely annoying as I ordered it and had delivery scheduled for a week before I had to leave. I would not rely on Altitude delivering by the posted date. I ended up having to buy a jacket I didn't like locally for my trip. But after my trip... jacket is very light and packable. Good for a mid layer. Face fabric does not feel very durable. Aesthetically it's average. I have the Atom AR and it's similar in warmth, but feels more durable and looks better. If every ounce is an issue the Cerium is great. But otherwise, it's just not the one I would grab for every day wear.

Great Jacket: Cheap Zippper

I absolutely love this jacket, the only major fail is the cheap zipper that was used in its construction. It fails 30% of the time. I am going to see about having it replaced come spring. It's sad given everything else feels and seems so well constructed. I took this jacket all of the midwest and northern Canada this past January and never once felt a chill. I would definitely buy another.

Great Warmth, Great Fit!

Light and Warm is a claim many down jackets make.;this is no different. However, what sets Arc'teryx apart is the athletic cut. If you're like me and have an athletic build, you typically end up buying a bigger jacket to accomodate for chest and shoulders while accepting that the jacket will fit like a dress at the waist. Not with Arc'teryx. With a focus on technical clothing, they certainly cater to people in shape.

Most expensive piece of gear I own... but worth it
12 March 2023

I was looking to replace a 12-year-old synthetic puffy that had gone flat and just didn't cut it anymore in cold windy weather. My thick fleece is still preferable for aerobic activities and general durability, but for those chilly dog walks or sitting on my kid's sideline under the field lights, I needed something to keep me warm for low-exertion outdoor activities. I tried other synthetics (too thin) and the more expensive down jackets (buzz lightyear wearing a trash bag) but this jacket hit the sweet spot without looking too sporty or futuristic. Subdued dark color, durable exterior, not too shiny, and looks equally good around town or in the woods. I have never been more comfortable hanging out at a low heart rate down to the 30s with nothing but a t-shirt ... MoreI was looking to replace a 12-year-old synthetic puffy that had gone flat and just didn't cut it anymore in cold windy weather. I have never been more comfortable hanging out at a low heart rate down to the 30s with nothing but a t-shirt underneath, and can go even lower if I am moving a bit more or use a thicker baselayer. It is very warm, almost too warm if you are indoors with any sort of elevated heart rate! While the lightweight and packable design is meant for the trail, it is appreciated when you have to haul 4 bags out to the car every morning (work stuff, lunch, change of clothes, climbing gym stuff) plus coffee, extra waterbottle, etc. It's been years since I've slept on the ground, and I don't like being cold. But this is truly one of those clothing items that inspire you to do what you love again. Now I look forward to any opportunity to get outside and enjoy the winter weather again. It may be expensive, but for me working long weeks and only a few precious hours every weekend to spend outside, it is worth it to be able to take advantage of every day, no matter the weather. It is water-repellant for light mist or short transits, but if you are spending an extended period of time under rainy weather, I recommend putting a shell over.

My favorite jacket
21 February 2023

This jacket is 10/10 for me. 5'10 165lbs athletic build, climber back, M fits perfect. For me, its a standard fit more than a sporty fit, but not baggy by any means. I plan to use it for climbing at some point but honestly right now its my daily for 4am cold mornings. It holds loft super well. I was skeptical with down because of feathers but I think it's impossible to avoid, and I would only pull tiny tiny feathers out maybe once a day for a couple weeks. I think it's like a break-in period because months later it doesn't happen often. It does have down proof fabric though which is awesome. You only see the small feathers poking out of the seams since there are tiny holes for the threads.Pros:-Super warm. I get so many compliments!-Covers upper butt-Hood is so worth it-Super lightweight-High quality zipper (i like them, others don't)-Responsibly sourced down-Solid water resistance-Adjustable hood-The cuffs aren't too tight so you can still wash your hands which I likeCons (but not really):-Price is steep but you get what you pay for-I think the storage bag it comes with is kinda odd, personally I prefer the integrated storage pockets

Not good enough for the price.
10 April 2023

The jacket has a flimsy zipper that is difficult to thread if you want to zip up. No excuse for this in such an expensive jacket. Needs a hefty zipper. The fit is rather snug but the description does point that out. As an older man, I like loosely fitting garments. I didn't expect it to be so snug. The color is very light and the down can be seen through the fabric. Looks funny, and you cannot pick up on this in the online pictures.Again, not acceptable in a high-priced jacket.I guess that online shopping has some disadvantages!

Product is great, but
6 February 2023

Love the down jacket. IT kept me super warm even in the freezing temperature. It is also light weight so it is great to travel with. I have a big issue of REI reward system. I don't know when they changed to this stupid system, but you will have to wait for the reward to be deposited until next year. What kind of stupid reward system is this? I wil lnot be purchasing from REI just because of this stupid system.

Took the Plunge! First Arcteryx and not disappointed!!

Just bought the Cerium Lt after days of online research. In came in the mail from Altitude (Quebec) to me in Toronto in 1 day!! Part of my research was on where to buy it and Altitude was top of my list: prices, availability, variety of colors, customer service and the fact they are Canadian all helped me make my decision. Just did the "T-shirt only test" in 4C which is 39.2F. It was like a whole new world out in the cold, like others said, super light like your not wearing anything, but the cold doesn't touch you! Weird to say but, i'm anxiously awaiting this Sat because the temp will go down to -1C, never thought i'd say that before! Also have learnt about "layering" so excited about that as well. I'm sure the LT will be fine down to -15 with proper layering. One ... MoreJust bought the Cerium Lt after days of online research. One big problem is now I want to try the Cerium SV, the Thorium AR, Atom AR, and I want various colors in all, i'm going to go broke, so next year will be another. I'm 6 foot and currently 211lbs, I wear a 42 reg suit so sizing was difficult at this size, the Large was too perfect, and I wanted room for layering but was aware that too much room is not good because it creates a lot of space and air which won't keep you as warm as one that is snug against your body. That's where the store front retailers came into play as I simply went in and tried on various models and sizes. I eventually picked the XL which was terrific, once you cinch up the side hem with the cord you'll be fine. Other considerations were Rab in second, and Patagonia in 3rd place. Knowing Arcteryx has the LEAF program for Military and LE I knew this had to be quality stuff, for being fast, strong, lightweight all while being warm, and I wasn't wrong. Time will tell on quality control issue's. I have heard that some encounter main zipper issue's as the zipper is a thin type to save on weight, but they still use the ykk, i'm just a little more gentle on it considering the cost etc. This LT model also has the embroidered stitched Arcteryx emblem on left chest, as opposed to other models (Atom lt) that simply print the emblem, Arcteryx Please stick with Embroidery as the adhesive type print wears off in time. Also like the Rab Microlight, I hope down the road they have a zipper on the chest on the outside so you don't have to open your jacket in the blistering cold to get something out of your jacket, but again that would affect weight. Rab Microlight also has a cool hood where the brim has a flexible wire so you can mold the position of the brim to your liking, but again that would affect weight. Honestly leave Can Goose, Moose Knuckles and all those other "fashionable" type jackets for the youngsters, fashion has no place for the real cold, I'm done with overweight bulky unreasonably expensive jackets just because its also a fashion trend. Arcteryx is like a tool not a toy, very functional, ergonomic, and high quality! Wish I discovered them sooner! I do see however the way they are going, the prices will increase year after year, supply and demand!

Weak Zipper. Black Sapphire = Shiny Navy
27 February 2023

Packability, comfort, and warmth are all great. I am 6'3 with an athletic/skinnier build and the Large fits perfectly. The zipper is weak - have had it come open at the base (after zipping up) multiple times. Seems to work find after I reset. Will monitor but could lead to a return if it is an issue."Black Sapphire" is really just a shiny navy. Shame as the pure black is not available from REI (sold out across the board). Was not what I was hoping for but no better color alternatives currently.
