We got around to replacing a downlight that had been broken several months ago. The new LED light with adjustable colour allowed us to make a good colour match to our existing downlights. Not expensive and I'm impressed with the additional light that a 6W LED provides.

I bought this unit for the vinyl weeding table that I built to illuminate the cut lines. It's super bright. Measured at 1ft, output was 5,000 lux.For use as a ceiling light, at 8ft, the output was 100 lux.It outputs a nice spread of light and as expected being an LED the unit remains cool.With a built in transformer and a mains plug, the unit is plug and play.If you want the unit to be dimmable, you need a trailing edge dimmer which will set you back between $15 and $45 depending on where you shop.The unit's colour temperature was set to 6,000k. I didn't measure the other two available temperatures.

These transformerless lights are reasonable value, have a good light output and a good beam spread. Being IP44 we've had them installed around the eaves and then set the brightness with a dimmer via a motion sensor.

Poor dimmer ability, replaced cheaper lights with these assuming a brand name would be a better quality light. Not so, three out of five developed a issue with the dimmer and its a quality brand dimmer other brands working wth these dimmers no probs. I would not buy again.
It was easy to swap out with our existing LED down lights by unplugging the old one and then simply plugging in the new one. No need for a sparky! The tri-colour option meant we could also easily match the colour tone with a flick of a switch.
Any Embertec Survivors out there ?......Get these magic, Arlec premium downlights to replace them. I did and I' m still smiling. Brilliant value, long life expectancy and each can be set to a choice of 3 great colours, and dimmable. Bunnings are always so fair with pricing too.
Have installed a bunch of these and the 6W version. Much brighter than I expectedThis was no problem when I got the electrician to add a universal dimmer. Kids can adjust on their own for day/night. The Deta unit has done the job properly - no buzzing or flickering once the min/max is set up.
I'm very happy with these lights. I haven't tried them on a dimmer though. I wrote to Arlec and they say to use the trailing edge dimmer from Deta 6032B (I/N 0098352) or preassembled plates 6132B (I/N 0098353) & 6180B (I/N 0098354)If this light was available with a silver fascia as a separate model I'd be very happy
We have installed 14 of these in our home, six on a dimmer which works well. They are cheap which is good but it shows compared to a better quality unit. The light is bright but can be harsh. We returned three of the 14 due to a slight flicker which was annoying. Also as the transformer is inbuilt so the whole unit has goes to landfill when it fails not just the LED.I would recommend a better quality unit if you want a nice light.
i put 5 of them in the kitchen and it was a lot of light!!! very bright!!! highly recommend!!!best for the price!! and the installation super easy!!! plug and play!!! ANY MONKEY can do it!!!
