ASICS GEL-Contend 8 Women's Running Shoes (Width B) Blue / 6.5

I received my first pair of Gel-Contend Asics as a gift and was surprised at how well they fit. Since I have wider feet, most shoes squeeze me toes, but these give me plenty of room while also providing great support!Since I loved that first pair so much, I found the exact same ones online (different color) and bought another pair. I love the balance of cushiony softness of the insoles and the firm-feeling tread. Usually I have to change out shoes because the treads wear out or the sides blow out all within a year, but the treads and sides are still in great condition, it's just the toes that are getting worn out. Again, I realise these are meant to be running shoes and not meant to be scuffed in warehouse settings, so they'd probably last even longer if they were used as intended.To sum it up, I've found the brand for me and I look forward to trying other of their wide lines in the future.

I've owned three pairs of these sneakers, which I've used for running/jogging, walking, the gym, and everyday wear around town. Although less cushioned than higher priced shoes, I actually prefer the lower stack height and firmer ride as I have a weak ankle that sometimes starts to roll a bit and get achy with shoes that have softer mid-soles, higher stack height (esp. in the heel), and/or lack stability.For me these shoes have been really stable, comfortable, and versatile. I've worn these shoes for a variety of runs (easy runs, strides, long runs, and some speed work) and walks (up to 9 miles) on different surfaces (trails, treadmill, but mainly pavement) and they've worked fine. They're really breathable and fairly lightweight.I just wish they had more durable mesh in the upper and slighter harder, more durable rubber in the outsole. These were two areas that experienced premature wear on the first pair of these that I owned.These shoes seem fairly "true to size" and standard in their sizing. I have a men's "size 10.9, width C" (slightly narrow) foot and can wear these in either a 10.5 or 11 (Medium, Standard, "D" width) but the size 11 gives my toes plenty of extra room so that's what I wear currently.

I have high arches in addition to a large protruding bunion on one foot, and tingling/ discomfort of toes on the other foot when shoes are too narrow. Before bunion developed, I wore a 9.5 regular width. After spending three days and countless hours trying on running shoes in the store, I finally figured out that the best way to tackle this challenge is to bring my arch inserts with me when trying them on at the store.
