My boyfriend got a version of these shoes and said they were the most comfortable shoes he has ever worn so naturally I placed an order when I spotted this super cool red shoe in my size. Looks amazing but fit was long and narrow. I do acknowledge that my feet are a smidge wide so I wasn’t surprised but I thought it was odd that the asics was noticeably longer when I aligned the soles against another tennis shoe of equal size. Regardless. Could be a great shoe but definitely not in the running for wide feet.

I love Asics!!! Great customer service (which is sadly becoming rare these days), and on top of that, they are probably the best tennis shoes on the market. I have been a huge fan of the Gel Res series since the #6, which was Greatest of All Time status. The 7 was basically the same shoe but looked a little different. The 8, though, has a lot of changes. I love the 8 too, but my one and only complaint is the Dynawall. It needs to be positioned more towards the outer edge of the shoe. Part of this "wall" curves inwards, which is not conducive to stability. Even on the tiny image of the shoe at the top of the screen as I write this, I can see the cavity where the "dynawall" dips inwards. It is just flexible (responsive) enough; the traction is good without being sticky; the lacing system is very ingenuitive (love that!) - you can cinch the laces down tight where the forefoot flaps are, or leave them loose - it is up to you. They are comfortable, and on top of all that, they look really cool. I love this colorway! It looks like butterscotch, caramel, and cream.

For the past 18 years or so, Ive worn no other shoe than ASICS. Be it cricket, tennis, running…even go to office in them, but this particular model really shook my long term faith in ASICS. Not only for me, I pretty much converted my entire family into ASICS household. I couldn’t not believe how tight, narrow and uncomfortable this shoe was. Same size same foot. Have switched to Kswiss at least for my tennis needs. Sad. Unfortunate. I hope someone reads this review and starts auditing the design and product quality and consistency.

I bought these shoes recently because they were very highly rated on three different websites as the overall best women's shoe for tennis for 2022. They are the most uncomfortable tennis shoe ever! I consistently wear a size 10 medium in athletic shoes and I already have a pair of Asics for tennis that I was trying to replace/upgrade because they're worn out. These are very tight in the toe box and tight on the upper heel - really just tight everywhere, but those two areas are the most noticeable. The toe turns up in a way that looked a bit funny when I put them on. But after reading the reviews, I ignored it. Bad mistake. My feet ached all evening after wearing them to play tennis for a couple of hours. It is not a matter of breaking them in. I will never wear them ... The Clay is specifically for Clay courts. I bought this pair for outdoor PickleBall and the help center told me before purchase that If the shoe said “Clay” it was for for all outdoor courts and if it didn’t say Clay, it is meant for indoor courts. This is wrong. The Clay is for Clay courts Only and the majority of outdoor PickleBall courts are hard surface or concrete. You can tell the Clay shoes apart from other shows because they have a herringbone pattern on the bottom of the shoe. ASICS order desk, do better! It’s your shoes! I had to have a second party explain this to me. Your order desk needs training.
I’m not one to purchase and return things. So I did a lot of research and I decided on these Bc I’m an avid pickleball player and needed a good grip. The grip was great but the over all comfort gets nothing. The tongue is sewed to the line of the shoe. There are four spots to two bilateral area where friction from material causes me irritation. I’m disappointed Bc I was hoping to buy more of these shoes if it was comfortable.
I’ve been wearing these at least five days a week for a couple of months on indoor and outdoor courts. These are my first pair of Asics (previously wore Nike Vapor X) and I am SO happy I made the change! I experienced a brief break-in period, but they are perfectly formed to my feet and I can play in them for many hours at a time without any foot pain. The quality is incomparable to my previous Nikes - by now, the soles would be worn out and I’d have holes in the toes, even when sizing up! Speaking of sizing, I went with my normal size 9, and they fit great.Took one star off for those random orange straps. I had to cut them off, ugh. I was worried that I was removing function, but the shoes have worked just fine without them! If they are indeed needed, please make ... If they are indeed needed, please make them a more complimentary color in the future - like black or dark blue.Without the orange straps, I get a lot of compliments on the style. Please make more women’s shoes in black or dark colors - I would love to buy another pair, but just can’t deal with the neon colors and/or white soles!
Maybe I ordered the wrong size, but the bottom of the nail bed of my right big toe is scraping against the top of the shoe. The footbed seems unusually shallow compared to earlier versions of the Gel Res 8. I switched to KSwiss during the pandemic because I could not find any ASICS, which are by far the best and my most favorite tennis shoe. I always wore them until I couldn’t find them. So when I saw these for sale recently, I pounced!!! And am really disappointed. Also, I dislike the tongue of the shoe — it’s sewn in and doesn’t move. Sorry.
I bought these tennis shoes because they are supposedly renown for their durability, but the shoelace retaining strap snapped on my brand new pair within 3 hours of recreational tennis play. asics support has been SLOW to respond, and I've waited over a week for the "Warranty Team" to respond to my claim after speaking with three different CSRs, who apparently don't have access to any of the information/photos I provided to the last one I spoke with.
Tried to purchase the hot pink shoes today but you still ONLY OFFER THIS COLOR FOR MALES. Why do you only offer these Hot Pink court shoes for men only??? Really? Seems a little odd and prejudice!I own five pair of these court shoes and I want the Hot Pink in Womens size 8. Where will you be offering these for women?
