Absolute unit. Amazing quality as expected

Im a really impressed with the build quality and the performance of the card. This was still expected as it comes with a heft price tag but worth it depending on what you do with it. I mostly play FPS shooter and MMORPG games. This GPU crushes everything in its path while maintaining really efficient cooling. Card can be loud sometimes but I use a headset while gaming so it does not bother me. The minor coil whine doesn't bother me but as premium as this card is, thats a downside that needs to improve. Price I I believe is still outrageous for a card but nothing competes with it so they have the right to price it that much. Hopefully this card will crush games for years to come as this will probably be my last build. If you can afford it, go for it and have fun.

This thing is amazing! So fast and blows away my old 2070. I know people have complained about coil whine but I have not heard anything yet when playing games. I may have gotten lucky with my purchase. Temps seem to stay around 62C when playing games. I do not think I have seen it hit higher than that as of yet. I really don't have any cons to say about this card other than the Price. You are getting an amazing card but NVIDIA really priced these things high. I went with the Tuff over the Strix due to the small gain in performance. 2-3 FPS for $400 more than the FE was just not worth it. If you have the money to burn this card will not disappoint!

Behemoth graphics card!

I was really surprised by how big this graphics card is! Wow! It's the biggest GPU I have ever held in my hands on! The build quality if excellent! ASUS decided to use a mental GPU exterior cooler design, feels really solid! Considering how much this GPU costs, I was happy to see this. I run it on quiet mode, and it still pumps out 4K graphics @ 144+ FPS. It will be a long time until I will need to upgrade. There is some slight "coil whine", but it's very faint (seems like all GPUs are starting to experience this phenomenon, my prior 3090 was way way worse). Overall, I'm really happy with this GPU.

Doubled my FPS, even in VR!
8 March 2023

I was hesitant to purchase this card, as my monitor is 1440P. Owned an EVGA FTW 3 Ultra 3080....but I'm glad I did! First off, the improvement in VR is immense and I am doubling frame rates with highest settings across all games. Next, even in 1440P gaming, this card runs cooler than my 3080, I can now max all graphical settings, and this card is barely breaking a sweat. Was it worth $1799? Yes, I think so. When I consider I usually pay that much for a new PC, I am usually only realizing at most a 20% increase in frames. For this price - I'm doubling that right out of the gate. In addition, this card will prove capable for years to come. I waited awhile, but now I'm glad I did. If you can afford it, coming off a 3080 (10GB) was incredible.

Excellent machine, bought refurbished!
13 February 2023

Very happy with this GPU, even though it was a refurbished version. The TUF rtx 4090 is built very well, and actually looks brilliant despite the size. Performance is on par with similar RTX 4090s, with excellent thermals too - I'm using it in a Corsair Air 540 case that's roomy with top and back exhausting fans. It does require at least three pci-e cables plugged into the dedicated adapter for power, in order to get optimal performance. The size of the GPU makes it tricky to have the adapter plugged in well without too much bending pressure when the case is closed, so do make sure to check whether your case can not only fit the GPU but also do so without excessive cable bend.

Love this thing. That coil whine though
1 May 2023

4k 144hz is my target for most games. Performs beautifully with plenty of power to spare. I still have an 11th Gen i7 and 3200 DDR4 RAM. U WILL need a big case. No issues with cooling even after a long gaming session. ONLY drawback is the Coil whine at high framerates. Like past 100. Not loud but noticeable if you're pc is on your desk. Even headphones with no audio playing with make the sound go away.

Performance Homerun If You Need Its Power

I originally bought the Asus RTX 4080 TUF Gaming ($1400) card because all RTX 4090s were only available at much higher than retail prices. I wanted a RTX 4090 TUF card as it is a much better value if you can afford it and need its power. For example, for $400 more at the time, you got 24 GBs of memory rather than the 16 GBs on the RTX 4080s. This represents a 50% increase. In addition, the performance increase over the 3090 does approach 2x in apps like 3D renderers. It is hard to say a card that cost as much a pretty high performance laptop or desktop is a good value, but it is if you can utilize its power to increase your efficiency, so when it became available at MicroCenter at its retail price, I quickly bought it. I choose the TUF gaming card over cheaper 4090s because it is well built, runs cool and quiet, and I thought it would work well with my Asus motherboard. I heard a lot of complains that it has a lot of coil whine, but I have not experienced any. It could be because I don't use it to game or I simply lucked out in the silicon lottery. In closing, I tend to keep video cards for a very long time. The video card the 4090 replaced was a GeoForce GTX Titan that was released in 2013, lol. I suspect I will not have to buy another video card for 4-5 years, so I look at its high price as being spread out over this time.

What can you really say about the best consumer GPU on the market right now? It is all it was touted to be.For my needs, I utilize it to render 3D images and animations. For this, it primarily utilizes the CUDA cores. It is amazing how fast this is. I was running a 3080 12gb and a 3060 12gb together and this alone is about 70% faster than both working in unison. My only 2 complaint are the size and the connector. I would have liked for it to be only 3 slots. Because of that, I cannot fit my 3080 on the mobo as well. But with the massive size, you get great cooling. At full load, it has not exceeded 60 degrees. The connector is also a pain. I had to work some magic to get the case closed without damaging the power connector. Unfortunately not working for me.
6 April 2023

Unfortunately not working for me as first off all I thought it would as I've got an Asus Z690 f gaming wifi mb with a i7 12700K processor and 32GB DDR5 RAM. It slowed my system down to grinding halt. Got a new 1300W psu. Made no difference. I've now reverted back to my RTX3060 again and it all works fine. Stored new one in attick for when I get a new Z790 MB. There seems to be a lot of problems with these cards. My bad, should have checked it out better before purchase.

Very Nice

Go into microcenter for an rj adapter and walk out with this monster of a card. It maxes out my 1440p 270hz monitor in pretty much every game I play. No coil whine on this gpu for me but fans can be a little loud beyond 50%. Temps are good 50-60c while gaming. The build quality on this is top notch, feels super solid and heavy. The little gpu stand is actually too big and won't fit in between my gpu and case. (corsair 5000d)Overall I would say I'm happy with my purchase.Overclockedhttp://www.3dmark.com/spy/34970661Stockhttp://www.3dmark.com/spy/34933701
