1440p 240 hz with 270 hz from overclock, decent color accuracy, very high saturation, good brightness. A great monitor for all-rounder, especially for gaming. 240hz overrated? not really, I would say it is definitely better than 144 hz, 270 hz? can't feel the difference, if you don't want to spend the premium, go with 144 hz, you will do just fine. Response time wise, this monitor is insane, 2 ms grey to grey, it's absolutely amazing for fast pace games and not have to deal with VA or TN panels. HDR though, only good for content consumption like Youtube videos, don't expect anything good from it, not great for gaming, you'd need to go HDR 1000 to get any good experience. I don't really get tearing with capping my games FPS to my refresh rate, or even without capping it and when it run lower than refresh rate, I never got any tearing. It's a flat screen, even though it's IPS I honestly think curved screen will still make this 27 inch so much better, I had 24 inch curved and it's amazing. Overall, I'd say the ROG Swift version is a better buy for the money, but if you have that money and play stuff like CSGO where you run your games at 200+ FPS but also do media creation as a job and what not, this one is not bad at all. Upgrade from 1080p people, trust me, it's a whole lot better.

Picked mine up a week and a half ago in Cambridge, MA. Best monitor used. I tried the hp omen 240hz monitor a year ago and couldnt deal with the screen being so fuzzy. They used a layer of something that washed out the screen so i stuck with my asus 2k 170hz monitor. Got it with one dead pixel but the monitor was great. When i seen Microcenter had this in stock i had to get it. No backlight bleeding or stuck/dead pixels. This monitor is insane paired with my strix 3080!

I, like Adam, tried a few 1440P 240Hz monitors before, namely the Acer XB273U GX which uses the same AU Optronics panel as this ASUS XG27AQM.The quality control is definitely there for the ASUS as I had next to no backlight bleed or IPS glow like Adam found as well as no stuck pixels which I had two of with the Acer. From the packaging to the materials and construction of the monitor, I really feel as though you’re getting more for the same price with ASUS.This monitor is truly special with a 270Hz overclock coupled with overdrive 4 and G Sync disabled if you can push those frame rates. It’s just lightning fast response time!My only real complaint with it is that in sRGB mode the brightness is locked to around 150 nits. I finally feel like I found a worthy monitor to pair with my 3080 Ti.

Overall for your competitive fps needs it makes a difference. I am adjusting again from dropping 4k to 2k but in the heat of a battle in apex legends I definitely feel the competitive advantage. Will still go back to my LG27Gn950-B for single player games and everyday use. If this is gonna be your first main monitor after recently upgrading your rig or youre curious about 2k 270hz you will not be disappointed.
I bought this monitor about a week ago and I’ve been using it for the past few days and so far my experience with it has been great.Previously coming from a 1440p 165hz G-sync TN monitor, the image quality and higher refresh rate of this monitor is just insane. Also with the added features of HDR 400, ELMB, G-sync compatible, and it being IPS is great to have.It included a uk power adapter, DisplayPort cable, HDMI cable, usb type b upstream cable to connect it to your pc and control the rgb on the back of the monitor as well as the two USB ports, colour calibration information about the display, the stand, and some stickers. The stand is hefty and feels premium but I’d prefer to use a monitor arm to mount my two monitors. My only issue I have with it is the ... MoreI bought this monitor about a week ago and I’ve been using it for the past few days and so far my experience with it has been great.Previously coming from a 1440p 165hz G-sync TN monitor, the image quality and higher refresh rate of this monitor is just insane. Honestly I actually enjoyed this monitor a lot and from what I've seen online people also have been enjoying it. However I have seen people complain of odd quality issues such as one guy couldn't get 270Hz working because it'd flicker all the time, and obviously you've seen mine here I've had 2 quality issues actually. On the plus side the things I liked about this monitor is there was basically 0 motion blur of anthing even without ELMB on. The monitor always felt snappy even at lower refresh, and in my case 270hz worked flawlessly. For those of you concerned about the VRR range only being 60-270hz, the monitor has a neat little trick to dealing with 60hz and below - It will actually double or triple the refresh rate of the monitor from what FPS is being ... MoreHonestly I actually enjoyed this monitor a lot and from what I've seen online people also have been enjoying it. For those of you concerned about the VRR range only being 60-270hz, the monitor has a neat little trick to dealing with 60hz and below - It will actually double or triple the refresh rate of the monitor from what FPS is being displayed. E.g. if you're viewing a 30fps game, the monitor will be at 90hz, this results in a "smoother" image than you would normally and it means you stay in the "gsync compatible" window, theoretically speaking this might mean lower input latency aswell. Overdrive upto level 3 seems best upto refresh rates of 160-ish then higher than this level 4 works a dream. Level 5 tends to overshoot a lot and I wouldn't recommend it even if you're at a locked 270hz.Picture wise I'm also very impressed, I know OLED is a very different technology and it's hard to compare since quantum dot/IPS have different advantages, however I do liken it to how OLED "looks", I'd still place it under OLED I still don't think it is as good but I'd say it's quite close.Overall assuming you don't get a quality issue it is close to perfect, I don't see many ways you could improve it other than less variance with build quality.
Owned the VG27AQ prior to this and while it's a great monitor, this one is on a whole other level. It's still an IPS panel, but the color/contrast seem superior to the VG27AQ. Minimal RGB and "gamer" aesthetic. 240hz+ Fast with minimal overshoot/undershoot using overdrive and optional back light strobing for motion clarity. HDR from an 8-bit panel if you really want it. sRGB is overrated for normal use, but nice that it has the option for professional work. Calibrated, this monitor is fantastic.
My unit came with excessive backlight bleed. So I'll be returning it. However, that's not the only issue with this monitor. ELMB Sync barely works. It's greyed out most of the time, and when it works you get a terrible double image effect. It's not usable. ELMB Sync also caused my display to flicker like crazy if I alt+tab out of a game sometimes. ELMB on it's own, without feesync enabled, works alright. You need to open the service menu to adjust the Overdrive though, otherwise you'll get terrible inverse ghosting on top of an unavoidable slight double image effect. Thankful when not using ELMB, and just using freesync, the overdrive options are not greyed out. That was the main reason I'm selling my Acer XB273U GX. If you plan on upgrading to any 1440p Monitor this one is it. I upgraded from a 1080p 144hz monitor and the difference is so huge. The quality in gaming is so clear and it feels like I'm sort of cheating in some competitive games. I don't know if its the motion clarity or the 270hz but it feels so clear and responsive, you notice it immediately. This is my first ever review on anything I ever purchased, and It just shows how much I enjoy this monitor. If you are debating on getting this monitor I strongly recommend going for it, you will not regret it.
I purchased this monitor after building a new pc which was capable of achieving 270+ hz on a 1440p display. This monitor did not disappoint. I was very surprised with how much I noticed the difference between 144hz and 270 hz. It wasn't as drastic as going from 60hz to 144hz, but the high refresh rate leads to noticeably smoother gameplay. The colors are very vibrant in games, making it much easier to pick out enemies. sRGB mode has good color accuracy, but I cannot speak too much on it as I don't own a color calibration tool. Overall, very happy with my purchase!
