The motherboard or mainboard is the component that connects all the different parts of your computer. Often it has some integrated components like a sound card, enabling your computer to play sound, or a network card, to connect your computer to the network. The standard form factor (size) for motherboards is ATX, you need at least a midi-tower to fit one of those in. Micro-ATX motherboards are often more complete and have more onboard devices, like a video board and fit in smaller cases, but are generally less expandable.

Got the cheapest deal from CCL. It was my first purchase from CCL. The product arrived without any damage and the delivery time was less, around 2 days. The motherboard works really well; you can't go wrong with Asus z690 motherboards. It's small and fits my SFF (NR200P) case really well. Happy with my purchase from CCL. Anyone looking to buy from CCL, go for it without any doubt.

A quality model of ASUS ROG STRIX Z690-I GAMING WiFi. A motherboard mini-Itx form-factor, has a z690 chipset with overclocking possibilities. Support 12 or 13 gen Intel, a ddr5 ram standart. A cooling is efficiency, normal vrm zone

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the motherboard to someone who wants to run several M.2 disks. Poor construction where the SSDs are mounted on top of each other with a circuit board in between that you have to screw on and off when mounting. I can only get the bottom SSD to work when I don't tighten the screws, if I do it doesn't show up in BIOS or Windows. If, on the other hand, you don't want to run more SSDs and only mount in the first M.2 slot or run SATA disks, it is a very good motherboard, unfortunately not for me.

Firstly, I was lucky enough to be able to buy it as everywhere else it was out of stock. Secondly, this board is really great. Has all the features you need for 12900K or any 12 gen system, plus also it has DDR5 support. Yes there is shortages but if you buy a fast DDR5(6000MHz+), your system will be mega fast and so is mine. I used only 1 pcie nvme SSD, but it's 2TB so it's plenty There's 2 slots total. The fan on VRM is ok, not loud. I wish there was none tho. Can't comment on the wifi 6, as I use cable connection. The only downside of the board is the lack of Q-Code display thus giving it 9/10. I do hope asus will make Z690 Mini-itx Impact motherboard with the q-code support so I will switch to that one then. Overall, very happy with the board:)
First time build on iTX so done plenty of homework. Was always going to be Asus but toss up between the Z690-I and Z790-I. Not a big fan of the new Hive on the Z790-I so had to be the Z690-I. Supports 13th Gen, latest M.2 drives albeit compromise on slightly slower Memory. Happy with my choice and highly recommended.
Probably the best MiniITX option for Intel LGA 1700 (12th/13th gen), considering the audio weirdness introduced by Asus on the Z790 version.Great performance, great connectivity!PS: Be careful with the fit of your AIO / cooler, the heatsinks are quite close around the CPU socket. My NZXT Z63 only barely fit, and required removing and re-sitting the SSD daughterboard.
This is a great motherboard with lots of features and whatnot, but there's a few things that really disappoint me about it, especially for Β£400. Due to the huge VRM heatsink and M.2 daughter board, you are really limited with cooler compatibility. It also uses another daughter board for front IO, internal speaker and SATA which looks awful and gets in the way. It also only has one USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0 which isn't ideal but workable. Other than that, it's decent enough.
ASUS have significantly over-designed the heatsink blocks around the CPU socket, making this board effectively incompatible with all but the most minimal air CPU coolers, and the major AIO/water blocks on offer too. Beware when buying, check to make sure your cooler is compatible, then check again. Most sites are wrong, this thing can only take coolers with minimal footprints. This largely defeats the purpose of a high-end board, which you would pair with a high-end CPU in turn needing a large cooler.ASUS have had this issue since the z390 but despite the 3 generations since are still choosing chunky aesthetic blocks rather than ensuring compatibility.Additionally, these boards have seen significant issues with their secondary m.2 slot not being recognised by ...Β MoreASUS have significantly over-designed the heatsink blocks around the CPU socket, making this board effectively incompatible with all but the most minimal air CPU coolers, and the major AIO/water blocks on offer too. Their first m.2 slot is also improperly spaced, so that the "squishing" heatsinks don't make full contact and instead bend your SSD.Overall there are a lot of issues with this board that you should no expect from a costly high-end product. Steer clear.
This board is tiny but don't let that fool you! It is seriously packed with features, proper thunderbolt ports, DDR5, GEN5 PCIEx, and this was the combo for my 12700k. I have been mulling over which board to go for and for me, this had everything I needed, it did take me a while to decide as some boards don't have optical out and some did but then I needed to decide whether to go for DDR4 or DDR5 as DDR4 was more avail and cheaper but in the end I went with this, although a bit expensive but what the heck. I got the board and boy I am not regretting splashing out on it. Just go for it if you building your next SFFPC, don't dither!
