Reading through the manual for the 40 amp DC to DC charger that I purchased a few months ago it states that it doesn't charge from DC inputs and solar concurrently. DC enjoys input priority over solar. The information in the discription is misleading that solar reduces the load off the engine. since the solar isn't actually running while driving. If you are after a DC to DC charger that prioritises solar over power from the engine this isn't the unit for you. I was disappointed to read this in the manual as I was hoping that it prioritised solar. Other than that the unit seems to be well made.

I would recommend this product. Delivery was asap! Fitted it myself with a bit of help from neighbor's who knew about where to wire the ignition wire to. Just used it over 6 days to charge a 100amphr Lead Crystal battery and it worked a treat. Good value as its the same as other DC chargers but half the price and just as good a quality in the manufacturing.

Very happy with the Charger. Have done voltage tests and everything is good. It would be nice to have a LCD display but the LED display lets you know everything you need to know.

Appears to be working perfectly. Good advice from suppliers of product. I have it hooked up to solar and alternator it is switching between both we have connected the trigger wire to the ignition wire so it switches over to solar as soon as we turn the engine off.

Good unit but only priority charges from DC and not dual input from solar which is as most others do. This dual input whilst driving saves main battery.
Deliver was excellent, Installed easily, Good Manual for Australia, operating as described. NB the vehicle alternator does have priority unlike the very expensive units which prioritize the best option -Solar or vehicle alternator. Requires a batter meter to see battery status.
Having a deep cycle battery installed in the back of my ute makes camping easy. Now I have the charger in place I can charge the battery with my car, while it is running, or a solar panel when I am camped. Very happy!! It was straight forward to install and works great.
The MPPT component of this device is relatively inefficient, supplying less amps to the battery than it receives from the solar panels. By way of comparison, the 20A MPPT solar controller that Atem supply with their 200W solar blanket performs as expected, supplying more amps to the battery than it receives from the solar panels.
Good quality, well packed and works as expected.Would benefit greatly by an LCD panel showing charging Amps. Nevertheless, really good value for money.
