Terrible product --and possibly a health hazard. The way it dispenses allows the product to fly all over the place - notably into my nose and mouth. It doesn't pump or spray like typical dry shampoos. You squeeze it and it deposits white powder on your hair, your clothes and possibly into your body. I am so mad that I was talked into this product, especially at a premium price. I have used about one third of the container and plan to throw it out -- that's how upset I am.

This stuff is simply amazing! I have fine, blonde hair and this blends beautifully. I cannot speak for darker haired babes. You may need a little practice using it. Only Very light squeezes of the bottle, and a little product seems to go a long way. I have tried sooo many products for volume and this is it! I have never experienced such volume, well, except for my permed 90's hair. I have tried many dry shampoos & none of them come close. I love the way this makes my hair feel and I can go three days- even in the Kansas humidity between washing! I am so happy to use Aveda products exclusively. I feel it's made a huge difference in growing out my hair. Much love.

I love this product so much. I was skeptical at first, having tried so many dry shampoos over the years and never really finding one that worked well for me. But this one does. It took me some time to figure out how to use it, and how to best disperse it into my hair and how much, but it's well worth taking the time to figure it out. I don't have oily hair, but I have fine hair that will start looking flat, dull, and "dirty" the day after washing no matter what I do. This fixes that immediately. It leaves my hair looking clean and fresh, with no stickiness or residue. And I can go for longer between washes. The original formula was wonderful and a little went a long way. The new formula is a real disappointment in many ways. The first thing I noticed is it doesn't come out of the bottle like it use to. No matter how much I shake and squeeze the bottle it doesn't dispense. I even tried putting some in my old bottle but it didn't make a difference. The second thing I noticed was the strong, synthetic fragrance it now has. I am sensitive to strong smells and fragrances so this makes me feel asthmatic when I used it. Thirdly, it just clumps up in my hair and doesn't absorb the oil like the original formula did. After using this dry shampoo for a few years and loving it, I will no longer be purchasing this.

Unless you prefer non-aerosol products, DO NOT BUY. The first time I used it I got powder all over me. It was hard to evenly distribute the powder onto my roots. It was thick, inconsistent, and stuck to my scalp making it look chalky. I gave it a second try, and still NOPE, it's awkward to get the powder out of the bottle, it comes out inconsistently, looks patchy and chalky. I ended up leaving the whole container in the bathroom at the gym to curse someone else (it was past the 30 day return policy).Worse than 2020, do not recommend.
This is a lifesaver for me in the warm months, especially during this summer's heatwave. My hair is long layered 1b and I tend to to have an oily scalp - but this really lets me go a day or two before I wash again. Adds a ton of body and helps preserve my style. Nice Aveda aroma. I've been using this for eons - and have tried countless other dry shampoos - but always return to this one. One bottle lasts me 3 months, which is an eternity compared to all the other ones in awful aerosol cans, all of them only last me a week. Literally one week. It used to be offered as a refill (without the applicator puff cap) not sure why they stopped. I would LOVE if they would offer a large value size for me to refill my bottle myself. Please do not ever stop making this!
With all the recalls recently for the dry shampoos in spray bottles, I feel so lucky to have tried this product for the second time. The first time I tried it, when it first came out, I rejected it because I found that it left a bit of a white residue on my hair. Fast forward five years later, I let my hair go naturally gray, and this is actually the absolute perfect product in every respect. Not only does it totally refresh my hair (it looks freshly washed, and the scent is divine) so that I can go several days without washing... but it camouflages the "pink scalp"'in a very subtle way. For me, it's simply perfect.
I have been a long time Aveda customer, at least since 2010 time. I had used the dry shampoo for years, esp since 2015 when I started losing my hair for health reasons. It kept the oilies away but also made my fine hair feel thicker. However, since the formula changed I've noticed that it doesn't do much for the oil in my hair and tends to feel like it adds to it. I struggle to get the powder out when I squeeze so then it will fly out in big batches, making a mess (on my clothes, on the sink, in my hair) which also causes me to go through bottles too fast. I've resorted to using talc free powder which does a better job than this. Please bring back the original formula!
