Beautiful new product from Avene

I have extremely Sensitive skin, and even a mild retinol can make my skin react -- especially my neck. But this beautiful new cream is gentle, unscented, contains ceramides, and quite effective from what I am experiencing so far. I need help rebuilding my skin barrier, and this cream is apparently tailored for that.It spreads easily in a handy pump container -- and you don't need a lot of it to spread on your face and neck. I can tell this is going to work for me, over time, because so far it hasn't irritated my sensitive neck. I am hoping to see some firming and lifting on the neck and jowl area over time.

Corrected & Healed Over Time

This product is the only product I have found that actually helps my skin improve over time with consistent use. I have mild Roseaca and severe Eczema/Sebboric Dermatitis that when it flares, it is the only thing you see. It itches, hurts, burns, and peels no matter what I do. I had just been through a round of topical medications which may help but sometimes the cure is worse than the disease. Disappointed. Not in the product, but in this website

Avéne makes nice products. The XeraCalm AD Lipid Replenishing cream is an excellent moisturizer for those with extremely sensitive skin. I enjoy using it along with several other of their XeraCalm products.However, be wary of ordering directly from this website as several items I ordered directly from this site arrived damaged, including the XeraCalm cream. Not only was the product packaging damaged, but the sterility of its packaging (something Avéne touts to its customers) was highly questionable because the pump was not fully secured onto the bottle when I got it. I had to push the pump into its place. Living in Alaska makes return shipping a massive pain so I kept the product and so far all has been well. Great barrier-repair moisturizer

I have rosacea and unfortunately can't tolerate mineral oil in products. My face just gets red and feels reactive. Something perhaps about it being such a powerful emollient that keeps heat trapped in my skin, but I'm not sure. If you can tolerate mineral oil, this is amazing stuff.I use another lipid-rich product from Avene, called Trixera Nutrition Nutri-Fluid Balm at night that does not contain mineral oil, and I love it. It really helps hydrate my dry skin from prescription medication, but I had to pass on XeraCalm. Otherwise, if you don't also have my specific issue, this is excellent as always from Avene.

Because, my skin is so hyper sensitive (we're talking I brought my own hand soap and lotion to grade school, sensitive) while I have my fav skin care lotions (most from Avene) they barely keep my skin happy. If I use too much of any moisturizer - even the ones formulated for the most sensitive skin, I get flushing and heat and sometimes a mild burn feeling. 90% of the time I just use my prescription Azaleic acid and live with dry (but calm) skin. That said, I must have been taking crazy pills when I ordered this product, but I am so glad I did.I use this product at night about an hr after my Azaleic acid goes on. My overall sensitivity has gone down. my skin is more hydrated and I have noticed a difference in my fine lines.Last night my skin was flushed and irritated after applying the XeraCalm (the step before this cream) and I fretted whether I should continue, but as soon as I put on this cream my face actually felt better and I woke up with really happy skin. It works as described

I use this as a moisturizer when my skin feel tight, dry, red or sensitive from weather factors but mostly due to nightly tretinoin use. I don’t use it on my body. A little goes a long way. It’s pretty thick but still easy to glide on the skin. I use it as the last step in my routine. First my tretinoin, followed by Avene tolerance balm. Sometimes I’ll mix it with the Avene cicalfate balm. I only use it at night because of the thicker texture. I also will use it on my neck when my skin has a breakout of eczema and it helps to quickly bring my skin back to normal within a couple days. It doesn’t break me out but I also don’t use it every night so I can’t say if it causes excessively clogged pores.

Neutral about this purchase.Will not repurchase. My skin seemed tight and dry after trying this for a week as a replacement for the use of the retrinal serum in the morning with my regular cream. I had hopes of replacing the serum and cream with this combination product. I'm not really in love with the container either. I find it somewhat awkward.I do like that it's unscented. (I wish a bigger variety of Avene's products were unscented so I could try them.)For now, I will continue with the retrinal serum and other products in the morning and the retrinal eye and the retrinal.1 with additional cream in the evening.

Recently started with this product. I love it. Experienced retin a user. I prefer this. The complimenting ingredients are a lovely mix that makes my skin very happy. It feels as though my baby fat (in the most wonderful way) has returned to my facial skin.I love the ingredient list. Agrees with my sensitive skin and eyes. Eyes object to most products, but Avene has been my trusted skin care line and no eye issues to date with Avene. Please don't stop making this. I also am using the RetinAL 1.0. Love that as well. I'm over the moon happy over here. My skin has not looked this good since I was 25. Now 50s, sun damage, type 1 rosacea, dry climate. Gentle, clean and effective can be done and done well. I've struggled with eczema for the majority of my life. My dermatologist has me on injections to reduce my flair ups, but the one thing that wouldn't heal up was the skin around my eyes. I've tried everything. Recently I did some internet searches looking for solutions as I was tired of hydrocortisone and other meds. The XeraCalm popped up and I decided to try it due to the reviews. I was amazed to watch the skin around my eyes start to heal up within 3 days. For the first time, I finally felt like my skin looked normal and hydrated and healed!
