"Barra" the Baracuda Captura Plus Miracle Worker.

I have been amazed at the thorough job" Barra" does in a 2 hour run over the walls and floor of the pool. We have a tree leaf, gum blossom and pine needle issue thanks to some neighbours trees. Not a problem to "Barra" Easy to set up, at end of clean simple to enter the catchment basket give it all a wash and put it away. Our Daughter and son in law have one and they recommended it. Certainly owe them for that. Only down side is while it is new and the novelty hasn't worn off, waste time watching it doing it's work, fascinating!!

Do not buy Barracuda products !The warranty is useless as Bunnings won’t take returns and the company that handles the issues is Fluidra which is the absolute worst to deal with I’ve spent my first 5 months of the warranty with a broken cleaner on a shelf and a pool that won’t be clean this summer save yourself the stress. Fluidra has a well earned 1 star rating

Captura does same tasks as $50 Leaf Eater
30 November 2021

I have a 4.5 x 9 m concrete pool, after trialed twice of the robotic cleaner, I decided to return it to Bunnings (thanks for Bunnings generous return policy), based on the following assessment: 1) only filtered large debris (down to 100 micron even with its fine filter, in comparison, a sand filter catches debris as small as 20 microns). 2) too clumsy to use and store, esp. with its long tangle-prone cable. 3) too heavy (> 10 kgs), my back/shoulder hurts. Pros: well-built, comes with wheeled-caddy, good price. Eventually I found the Baracuda Leaf Catcher ($50) at Bunnings a perfect replacement for the robot, it catches almost everything the robot was capable of, without the complications of those mentioned above, and it saves me $1250! Died after less than 2 years
23 February 2023

Worked OK, although it would never quite clean everywhere. Tends to get stuck in the deeper section of the pool and go back and forth.Would pick up large debris and climb the walls fine.Problem is, it died within 2 years which for something this expensive is unacceptable. Luckily it was still just within warranty so we go our money back. For something costing this much it should have at least a 5 year warranty.

Excellent Outcome
14 December 2021

I bought the Baracuda Capture Plus Robotic Pool Cleaner a month ago. I chose this pool cleaner as it was the one that had the trolley to store the cleaner, the floor and wall and water line abilities and variations to suite variety of pool sides at a reasonable price. I chose Bunnings because of their reputation of returns if unsatisfactory. It more than met my expectations in all of these. Baracuda is backed by Zodiac which is a world leader in robotic pool cleaners. My pool has never looked better with considerable less pump time and as a result of not have a suction hose attached the motor works at lower revs saving money. Thanks.

Excellent value and excellent cleaner
30 June 2021

I have to imagine that anyone complaining about this machine are using it in application not suited for it. If used withing the recommended parameters of the cleaner it's an excellent 'dumb' cleaner that does a fantastic job on our pool floor, walls and stairs. To be fair, our pool is longer than the max recommended length but the Captura doesn't miss a beat (or a leaf!) and dutifully picks up everything in its path. What's more impressive is that we live in a very leafy area, so this is a lifesaver.Highly recommended.

For me, a life saver.
15 December 2021

I have been using this for a few weeks now and it has made life so easy compared to the manual vacuuming I had to do before. The pool (pebblecrete) had developed some stubborn algae on the bottom after a long period of neglect and the robot cleaner has allowed me to attack this more aggressively and regularly than I could with the manual vacuum. I did loads of research prior to choosing the Captura Plus and one of the biggest regular negatives in reviews of other products was lack of warranty and/or after-sales back-up. I chose the Captura Plus as Bunnings is good with returns, the warranty period is two years and I didn’t want to pay more than this. Even spending twice this amount on a pool robot doesn’t seem to guarantee a good experience from all the reviews I ... MoreI have been using this for a few weeks now and it has made life so easy compared to the manual vacuuming I had to do before. I chose the Captura Plus as Bunnings is good with returns, the warranty period is two years and I didn’t want to pay more than this. Even spending twice this amount on a pool robot doesn’t seem to guarantee a good experience from all the reviews I read. I will add this, initially the Captura Plus appeared to be a dud - even on floor cleaning mode it would just keep returning to one area of the pool and sit there trying to climb the wall. However, after about five runs in the pool, on both floor-only and floor plus walls, it seemed to get over this problem. So, if you have issues initially, don’t panic and keep going for a month before deciding it isn’t working for you. Some reviews of this product mention its weight as a negative but I have had no problems with this as a female operator. It is very easy to remove from the pool, clean and move about/store on the included trolley. I put the trolley together myself with no problems - didn’t even really need the instructions as it was all fairly obvious and logical. I was then too scared to actually put the robot in the pool for a few days…but that’s all part of being me, nothing to do with the equipment!

Very impressed how well this guy scrubbed our concrete pool. The bottom of the pool had a lot of grime accumulated over three months of winter and only running the sand filter and not vacuuming. We have bougainvillea and frangipanis near the room so there was a lot of plant decay on the bottom. Ran this guy three times and it did a great job scrubbing the floor and the walls. It climbs up right to the water line.Having so much grime on the floor I stopped it a couple times and hosed out the filter. Only takes a minute or so, it’s very easy. While it weighs 9 kg, it’s very light when it’s in the water, so you can just hook it with the pole and easily bring it up.The trolly is good for storing in the garage.Unit is very quiet. Waste of money
25 June 2021

I "upgraded" to this cleaner from the cheaper model I use to have. What a mistake. It does not have enough power to go up the walls of the pool and it also does not map out the pool like the cheaper model did so you are left with patches of uncleaned pool. I have run the cleaner 6 times in a row and it still does not get the corners or the edges or seating platforms etc. Any debris like a standard sized leaf it doesn't suck up. The caddy it comes on is pretty useless too as the power cord is not long enough. This is a complete waste of money and I will be contacting Bunnings to see if I can return it as it does not work as advertised. Save your money and get the cheaper model, it worked great until the kids decided to stand on it like a ride.
