It is flicker-free and has settings to minimize blue light. The color calibration is far more than I need. All the various color settings and features are interesting and cool. I don't really use them but did find them interesting enough to check out. There is also a boatload of software that you can download, including eye care software that reminds you periodically to look away from the monitor etc. All good things to help preserve eye health. The Freakin' AWESOMEHot Key PuckThe most exciting feature of the monitor is the hot-key puck. With other monitors that have a built-in KVM switch, the switch to changing computers is usually on the monitor itself - not always convenient or easy to reach. The hot-key puck has a 3–4-foot cord and allows you to navigate the on-screen menu without needing to reach the monitor. You can even customize the buttons (hotkeys). This handy-dandy device allows me to change the computer with a click of a button on the hot-key puck. While the cord is plenty long to be within reach without stretching, I do wish it was a tad bit longer or could use an extension cable, so that I could run the cord under my desk to minimize cord clutter. But that's a really petty complaint for a spectacular feature.Monitor ArmThe monitor stand is an outstanding feature with a well-thought design. It is very similar to the Ergo Arm that has been used for a few years by another monitor brand. The monitor connects to the stand with a quick-release type of connection giving the back of the monitor a very finished look. This arm has plenty of room in the arm to route your cables through it, IF you use thinner cables. If you like the braided cables, it may be a very tight fit that doesnt' allow all of them to fit. I highly recommend using non-braided cables for this arm as it provides a very finished look and minimizes cord clutter when all the cable route through the arm.Putting it together can be a one-person job. For some, it may be helpful to have an extra set of hands to put the monitor on the arm.Auto-detect orientationI was pleasantly surprised to see that this monitor detects the orientation of the monitor and adapts accordingly. This is a feature that I did not see in the product description & was pleasantly surprised by.Pro Tip:The cables plug into the monitor from the bottom. Once you have the monitor connected to the arm, rotate the monitor to portrait orientation so you can easily see the plugs. Extend the arm so that it is at its farthest point in order to determine how much cable is needed. This will help prevent potential damage to the ports from extending the monitor farther than cords allow later during regular use.The monitor sits roughly 3-4" from the back edge of my desk. This is the farthest back the monitor will actually go. if you have multiple monitor setups like I do, you will want to evaluate the position. This monitor sits on the right side. I initially thought that would allow me to have the most open space on my desk. That didn't work as the angle wasn't right. For multiple monitor setups, I recommend the arm be placed towards the main monitor to keep the best angle for us.The mehThere is a single headphone jack on the side of the monitor. Since this monitor sits on the right side of my setup it is not a problem. If you plan to have other monitors to the right of this one, you may want to consider a right angle or u-shaped connector. I found these very helpful on my other BenQ monitor which is the center of my setup. The Could-Be-BettersThere is no ethernet port. You can certainly use one of those ethernet-to-USB adapters and plug that into a USB port. I found that to be slower than when I plugged the ethernet adapter directly into my laptop. It also uses a USB port. Which leads to....There are only 4 USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports (3 USB-A, 1 USB-C) for peripherals. 2 of these ports (1 USB-A & 1 USB-C) are on the side of the monitor. Those are easy to reach, but when in use, they prevent smooth alignment with another monitor for multi-monitor set-ups. 4 USB ports are typical of many, if not most, KVM switches, but fewer than I need. I have a USB hub connected to one of the ports on my monitor. There is 1 display port and 1 HDMI connection. The KVM switch is preset to specific combinations: USB-C, USB1 & DisplayPort, USB2 & HDMI. Adapters might work, but there is limited space under the back cover. One quirk that I experience is that the monitor doesn't always switch to the video source via the hot key puck when waking from sleep or hibernate - specifically when i last used 1 laptop (which is now asleep) and am waking up the other from sleep. I have to use the buttons on the back - which are easy to reach as they are on the bottom right in both portraig or landscape orientation.Prior to researching for a new monitor, I had never heard of BenQ. Given my experience with this product though, they have moved to the top of my list for future monitor purchases.

Although it is not the cheapest monitor, it's also far from being the most expensive. All-in-all, it is an excellent value. I purchased this monitor to use with my Mac Studio. I was on the fence with this one or something more expensive. I edit a lot of photography and recently got into video. I’m so glad I went with the PD3205UA over a higher end model at its perfect for my needs. Excellent color right out of the box, no adjustments needed and the extra size over a 27in is worth it. So much real estate to multi task. I was worried about brightness, but after receiving I realized I only need it on 50% brightness 99% of the time. The ergo arm easily adjusts. This is my first ergo arm and I can’t believe I didn’t switch over sooner. High quality monitor for any creator that wants an excellent monitor without breaking the bank.

Killer Inexpensive Monitor
30 March 2023

For the price this is a great monitor. Is it the best? Nope. Are there better? Yup. But, for the price and what it does? It nails it. I can do mission critical color accurate work in photoshop and deliver with confidence. If I was a gfx guy and was outputting files all day, I would not buy this monitor. If you're like me, outputting or checking color critical stills and video on a regular basis it's killer. I work in production using Sketchup and Vectorworks too. The huge real estate to edit on is incredible. I highly recommend this monitor for anyone that wants an accurate monitor. If I was a gfx, video, or photo editor as my main gig I would not buy this, I would invest in a better monitor. But I don't want to sell this monitor short. I love it.

The screen is gorgeous for this price range, nice and bright, with punchy HDR, many pro color options, a slick matte finish, and nice viewing angle. The MBook setting matches my 2021 MBP quite well for general use. My intent was to use this mostly for toolbars and timelines and pallets and keep my video on the excellent MBP screen, but I find myself dragging video windows up to this and being happy with the look. I connect via HDMI for video, I was not wild about the way it behaved when I tried USB-C. If you connect via both HDMI and USB-C, it will assume you have two separate video sources even if you only want the USB-C connection for data. You have to switch between them. I run my Time Machine SSD and my audio interface through this unit and also use the side ports (handy) for thumb drives and such. My main gripe is that it dismounts drives when it goes to sleep, causing me to need to enter a password to reconnect them if they are configured to be secure. I also don't find the puck thing particularly useful, but that's more a matter of preference. I still think it's worth the price for the screen alone and would buy it again.

Meets all my requirements
27 November 2023

Was looking for a 32 inch monitor to meet general uses (email, browsing) plus photo and video editing. As well I have a multi monitor setup with my previous primary monitor moving to a secondary role. Was also looking for the ability to simultaneously connect a Mac Mini (M1) via USB-C. This monitor met all of those requirements. Stand's ability to pivot and adjust height is also well done.Bonus features are the BenQ hockey puck to control/adjust the monitor in addition to the regular control buttons on the monitor and the ability to pivot the monitor to a portrait view if desired. Not something I think I'll make use of but nice to have if needed.

I am pretty happy with this monitor. I needed a 4K large monitor with a KVM and this is it. It was a pleasant surprise to discover that I could actually connect two desktops and a laptop with USBC and toggle between all 3.The KVM is easy to use, and to change with the control puck. Unfortunately the control puck button stops working if the active computer is turned off, and you have to use the joystick control to switch sources instead. Slightly annoying, but easy enough once you work it out. The switchover from one source to another takes several seconds, which was a surprise, but again easy to aclimitise to. It is clear, and easy to adjust. When I use the laptop the screen adusts to display 1080pHD and it looks superb. All in all, 4/5. It does what I want, it does it well, and looks good. The manual and the menus could be a little easier to understand, and the KVM switching is not perfect. But it is more than good enough for me.

Zero Uniformity, Zero Warranty and Assistance by BENQ
19 June 2024

Bought this monitor in order to work in graphics and photography. Little by little I realize that it has problems with light bleeding or similar. Problem that is barely noticeable and getting worse. Benq tells me to send it to a service center and then tells me it is a problem that plagues any LCD of any brand. Even they themselves consider themselves to be like any brand. A monitor sold as uniform and calibrated. I accept that there may be monitors with defects, but I expected from such a brand a different kind of treatment.
