Existential themes, gore and deeply intricate art style characterise the beginning of the peerless journey that was the influence behind the likes of Cloud from Final Fantasy to the FromSoftware games.
I love everything about it, it's dark, bloody and the visuals are extremely well done. I adore the fantasy horror it's made and how well drawn it is, I keep wanting more and more.

Bought for my boyfriend and he loves it! The book is beautifully bound and the drawings are very well done.
I would highly recommend this to anyone who like dark fantasy, it does have a lot of gore and nsfw stuff so if you're not into that maybe don't read this, but if you don't mind then go head you will most likely love it.
I am a long standing fan of the berserk series. First off, if ultra violence, dark humor, and macabre or grotesque imagery offends you, then do not pick this up. But to everyone else, this is probably the best line of manga you could ever read. The illustrations by kantaro miura are simply gorgeous. There is so much pain staking detail in every frame, and every detail serves a purpose to bring the world alive. The characters are incredibly deep, and never feel one note, or shallow; they never feel like carbon copies to each other, and they always have their motivations that drive them in this world. Regarding the plot, we have our protagonist, Guts, or gatsu for Japanese translations, whom simply lives to enact revenge for his past, and to do this, he desires to ... But to reach Griffith, he must apprehend behelits from demon apostles, which are essentially high ranking demons. But that's all I will say regarding the plot, you need to experiance the rest for yourself. The plot is so deep, with amazing characters, so many twists and turns, and stuff that will make your stomach turn. No matter how prepared you think you are for this manga, you never will be. It can be very grim, very violent, it's very relentless, and it never stops. If there is one manga I can suggest you read, do read this. You are doing a disservice to yourself if you do not read this, especially if you do not experiance it blind as it was meant to.
