Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80 Ohm Headphones

Was look for a robust relatively inexpensive pair of headphones for use with my laptop. Decided on the closed can over ear cups to help reduce background noise and the 32ohm version for use with low signal power devices. Got them on sale, which got them the fifth star for value for money. They got five stars for quality all by themselves. The more I use them the happier I am with my choice. Next to zero fatigue after long periods of use. Well made with replaceable parts. Design that has stood the test of time. If I was really picky it would be good if the cable was removable in a variety of lengths and the cup padding material was of a higher quality and texture. It's like experiencing my music collection all over again.Build quality is another strong suit of these headphones. They feel robust and durable, and I have no doubts about their longevity. The cable isnt detachable is the only caveat,will be trying the balanced cable mod in the coming future also eyeing the fiio r9 but might have to settle with the k7 ˙◠˙

Best headphones I ever purchased!

Only a day of owning these and I am completely blown away by their build quality and perfomance. Using them with Apple Music and the Ifi Go Link DAC, my wife and I took turns listening to our favourite genres (I listen to Rock and Classical piano, while she listens to Indian Indie, Pop, and EDM). It is quite rare that both of us like the same piece of gear, but these perfomed admirably and we were having an audiogasm.I read a lot of reviews before getting these and found that people incessantly complained about the treble, but I found the headphones to be quite balanced, even though the bass and sub-bass definitely sounded nicer. With my eyes shut, the moment Apple music would go Hi-res lossless on some songs, these created a concert right in front of me. Also, loved the velour earpads which are super comfortable, but I can imagine the material feeling hot on the ears during the summers. It also seems the earpad material will attract dust, so planning on storing them in the pouch provided with it when not in use. Only thing missing, which I would definitely have liked, are detachable cables. I'm guilty of destroying multiple headphones due to overtime cable pulls. Although these seem solid, I am already looking at part replacements and additional modifications for these, and apparently the manufacturers have made it pretty easy for the modders to do so. Best sounding headphones for beginners!

Been using the DT 770 Pro for the last 10 months and boy all I've to say is they are certainly up top in the price range. Having used the ATH M50x for sometime, the 770's offer more stereo-instrumental imaging compared to the M50x's ( clearly personal observation/opinion ). The comfortability these headphone provide is the best as you could use the headphones for a pretty long time without feeling the need to take it off.As a beginner in this industry myself, I definitely had hard time choosing the best pair of headphones for my personal and professional use. I found myself stumbling upon the DT 770's after trying out few other alternative options under the price range. And boy I'm satisfied!

Great headphones to last you for many years

These headphones are in production since 1985 and they're one of the most popular models found in recording studios for a good reason! At this price point, they're one of the nicest headphones you can get for studio work, but also for listening to music in noisy environments (e.g. office). Since they're mostly closed back, unless you go really high with the volume, others won't be able to hear your music and you will not be able to hear outside noises either. The 250 Ohm model is not suitable with all consumer devices, as it might be more demanding on the amplifier and might require a dedicated headphone amp.

Review of Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro Closed Back Headphones 80 Ohms

I bought these Beyerdynamic DT770 headphones after lots of research (as one does) and although they sound good, are very comfy and very well made (probably survive a tank running over them) they were a bit on the quiet side (yes I could turn them up!). I should have bought the 32ohm. I bought the 80ohm. I've gone back to using my trusty old pair of Sony MDR 7506 headphones for monitoring (63ohm). Not as robust as the DT770s admittedly but they are nice and loud, crystal clear and about the same price! The most important thing is that the Sony MDR 7506 let's you hear all the dodgy artifacts that you don't hear on your speakers! comfortable janky and designed to deteriorate, 10/10 would not buy again.

Headphones sit well, over ear headphones with very comfortable pads, the most comfortable I've ever worn. fairly janky cans however, these are def not like my Sennheisers.. no way at all in fact. These cans are best suited to your own home and not worn in public. I have one complaint about these and It surprises me no one mentions this more and they get such good reviews, the cord... you see that part near the ear pad where the cord connects? Complete design flaw, I wore these cans for 10 times maybe give or take and on the month that the warranty expired the cord completely gave out.. the plastic coating just isn't strong enough in my opinion. No other cans have ever given me such heart felt joy then a sinking gutting feeling than these headphones. Beyerdynamic were not open to helping me replace anything really regarding the cans i had purchased. So it was money lost.. and in so I lost faith and trust in this brand altogether,maybe others have different experiences this was just my own. $250 headphones built to the highest standard designed to break in the short to long term is in my opinion more than enough to steer clear of these.
