This is super lightweight, which is typical of squalane, and it glides over the skin easily. It breaks down makeup and sunscreen well and rinses without leaving a film behind. Skin feels moisturized and has a nice glow after each use. I had read some reviews that said they like to do a 5-10 minute cleanse with this and that it helped remove blackheads and it absolutely does! After a couple uses I even noticed less clogged pores. I purchased this product directly from the Biossance website and they wouldn’t post my review so I’m writing it in here in hopes of warning others.I don’t usually write reviews for products but this oil was so bad I feel the need to warn others before they ruin their skin like I did. I used this cleansing oil for a little over a week thinking it’d help cleanse my pores and remove all makeup and debris. At first it felt like it was doing its job but after a few days, I started getting comedonal acne in areas where I don’t normally breakout. I’m certain it’s because of this oil because I was only getting breakouts in areas of my face where I used this product. Within a week, my face erupted in comedonal acne. I have personally tried many products and spent a good amount of money through the years as I am sure many of us ladies do. I am 44 so I have some fine lines and wrinkles, combination skin and I also suffer with rosacea. Huge Let Down

I was so looking forward to using this cleanser! I have other cleansers from Biossance that I love and are wonderful! BUT this one really disappointed me. It does a good job at removing makeup and sunscreen but it burns my eyes so bad I can’t stand to use it! And that really upsets me because it feels fantastic on my skin and it doesn’t dry my skin out. It has a lovely, light citrus scent which I don’t mind, but my eyes stay on fire the whole time this stuff is on my face!! And when I add water to emulsify the oil the burning in my eyes gets worse! It does a good job cleansing, but I shouldn’t have my eyes burning out of my head to get my face clean. My favorite cleanser was the jelly cleanser and that one has been discontinued which is extremely disappointing!

I ordered the travel size because I figured if I hated it then I wouldn't be out much- but I"m ordering the full size now. It smells so dang good I'm exited to wash my face. It gets off my double layer water proof mascara and everything. I watched the tutorial video and they said it doesn't leave anything on your skin which I don't think is true however- the first couple times I used it I used another face wash after because I thought it was staying dirty- it wasn't but it isn't the same squeaky tight feeling you get after some washes. I hadn't used an oil cleaner before so maybe all of them do that? My skin does feel dryer than I thought it would after using oil on it- but I use the plumping gel after and my face looks and feels amazing. NICE CLEANSING OIL & HYDRATING without the oily feel

I like this cleansing oil in terms of it providing a good cleanse without dying my skin. I do not wear makeup due to allergies to a lot of the ingredients in makeup products so I cannot say much about how effective this is on that front. I bought this to try and see whether it will be cleansing enough but will not leave my skin flaky. I've tried other cleaning oils and most rather left an oily feel to my skin. This one delivers the result I wanted - cleansing but leaves my skin hydrated without it being oily. I love the fresh but subtle scent of it as well. I am transitioning to fragrance free and/or unscented products recently and this one fits the bill.

Nice Pre Cleanse. Don’t recommend alone

I have been trying every product under the sun to help calm my rosacea, PCOS, cystic acne nightmare that is my entrance into my early thirties- or at the very least minimize the damage, inflammation and sensitive skin issues that are often just made worse with make up. This doesn't irritate my skin and does calm my rosacea and just the overall look and feel of my complexion. It is lightweight in texture but is very softening for my skin. The product sinks in really nicely without leaving any irritating residue. No added scent, just a really nice soft, calm and clean look and feel. I definitely recommend it for a pre cleanse/make up remover and pair with a deeper cleanser unless you don’t wear make up and naturally have fabulous skin.

Perfect for Removing Makeup & Facial Massage

I cut makeup wipes out of my routine 4 years ago when I discovered this product. For context I am 29, with fair, normal / combo skin, not sensitive, I don't wear foundation everyday, but I do use SPF daily.This Cleansing Oil is the perfect start to my skincare routine, it effortlessly dissolves makeup, excess oil, SPF, and helps dislodge sebaceous filaments / blackheads / dead skin. I really enjoy this as my first step in cleansing away the day from makeup, &/or sunscreen. It's gentle, yet effective, & leaves my skin barrier moist & hydrated. I follow with, (as my second step cleansing), with the Squalane Cleansing wash. That too is wonderful, & so gentle leaving my skin feeling soft & nourished.I think I also want to try the Elderberry gel cleanser next, when I run out of the cleaning oil. After reading the description of the product, I realized that can be also be used as a 1st step cleansing product as well. It starts as a gel, & then turns into a milky consistency that washes away. It has probiotics in it, & that's really good for the skin. It actually can work as a 1st, &/or 2nd step cleanse as well. This is an amazing cleansing oil in terms of taking off your makeup before going in with a cleanser. Out of all the cleansing oils I have tried, this one is incredible at removing even the most stubborn stains on your face! However, the reason I took off two stars is because of two major drawbacks. First of all, it’s highly fragrant…Not necessarily a bad smell, but there is no need for it to be that perfumed…Honestly worries me that it could potentially be irritating, even though it’s a wash off treatment. Secondly, this product has absolutely NO MERCY if you get it in your eyes. I have never had a product sting so badly, but not only that, the pain lasts for soooo long. It feels like as if you were to squeeze dish soap directly into your eyes.
