Ok I’ve had this thing now for about 2 months and here is my honest review:It’s handy. I like not dealing with a cord and I like that it has a self-clean function. Now for the details…I hate mopping, well, house cleaning in general, and this vacuums and mops at the same time. It also does a pretty good job refreshing area rugs. Basically, it does what’s advertised, but there are some caveats.I have 2 Main Coon cats and a Husky/Bernese monster-dog living in my house, and I have long hair that sheds arguably as much as the animals. As you go along, it sometimes leaves clumps of wet hair behind and you have to over and over a spot so it picks them up. Is that a big deal? Not really, but I paid $400 on sale for this thing to appease my laziness. Also, if the dog ... MoreOk I’ve had this thing now for about 2 months and here is my honest review:It’s handy. Not really, but I paid $400 on sale for this thing to appease my laziness. Also, if the dog drags in a pebble or chunk of lawn into the house with her giant moose feet, it struggles to suck those up sometimes. Another thing I learned the hard way, DO NOT, under any circumstance, attempt to suck up loose kitty litter. It saturates the brush roll so much, so fast, that it creates a kind of clay cement that then tracks the rest of the way in your cleaning journey.Long story short, I’ll keep it because it’s been 2 months and I’ve lost the receipt, and it does the job. Would I spend this much on one of these again? No. All the “issues” I have are relatively minor, but a little frustrating given the price of these guys.Pros:-Battery life is decent. I have about 1200 sq ft and even if I do a deep clean, I have just enough life. That being said, it’s only about 25-30 minutes.-I don’t have to drag the mop pail out.-It has decent suction… decent, not fantastic.-It cleans itself…Cons:-It leaves the floor way too wet, so you have to learn to be light on the trigger, and go back and forth over a spot to suck up the excess. I recommend walking backwards and pulling it toward yourself so you’re not waking on wet floor.-If you have power-shedders, or you break your arm and don’t vacuum for 3 weeks, you’re going to want to stop a few times and run the cleaning cycle, which can be a pain in the a**.-Even though it cleans itself, you do still have to rinse/clean out the components by hand and let everything dry. Again, not a huge deal but worth mentioning.

If you're thinking about buying a Bissell Crosswave I have to say that I do not recommend it. I didn't use mine very often, I used it a whole whopping 4 times in the time that I owned it. I just tried to use it to clean my floors for the Holidays and the Crosswave was dead. It beeped, then paused, then beeped 4 more times and 2 red lights illuminated on the front. That's all it will do. It will not turn on at all. I contacted Bissell support and they assured me that they were 100% committed to finding a solution for my problem and that they always stand behind their products, then they told me there was nothing they could do because it was out of warranty. Then they offered me a very insulting 20% off the purchase of a new Crosswave. As if.Garbage. These things are ... This is a known issue, you can search the internet for the problem that I have described and there are MANY people with the same issue and no solution. This seems to be a known issue with Bissell and they are doing nothing about it.I very strongly recommend that you do not purchase a Bissell Crosswave.

My ex bought this version to replace my corded pet pro, only because he couldn't find pet pro in stock at the time. And was his fault it broke. This was hardly used, was the biggest waste of 600 bucks. Doesn't suck well, then after being stored in new condition when I really needed it, it wouldn't work. Kept reading tank was full. Cleaned and dried sensors did everything, because this wasn't the first time this waste of plastic failed me. But this time was a toilet over flow, yup awesome instead of my wet dry vacuum doing a simple task I had to do it myself, at 2 am. I used the pet pro with zero issues in my cleaning bussiness, things like dry wall dust beyond its means, but this garbage is a waste of money. I completely lost it, now it's really RIP. I have owned both the cordless max and the regular corded crosswave. Both are excellent! My floors are so much cleaner since getting a vacuum mop. I highly recommend either product!I LOVE not having a cord as it makes it so much easier to keep vacuum mopping throughout the house. The battery life is very good, I have never run out of battery during a mop session. I did prefer a few minor things on the corded vacuum mop over the design of the cordless--the handle on the front is missing, the tank of clean water is at a weird angle that causes water to spill more easily when filling up or putting it back into the vacuum, and the thinner mop head on the old one allowed slightly more space for things to get vacuumed up. I'm still glad I upgraded! But if you're torn ... MoreI have owned both the cordless max and the regular corded crosswave. Both are excellent! Recently installed natural stone and porcelain tile on the first floor of our home. (we have a dog)I researched many other models. It works pretty much as advertised. Dog hair picked up very well and the floors look great after using. What I would like to see is model distinction. Way to many models for what seems like the same basic machine. One has a strainer the other does not. One comes with this brush the other comes with a different brush and different brushes can be used across the line. it doesnt need to be that difficult. The cleaning function should be better/ easier. I kind of wish the station that you set the unit in for charging had a clean resovoir to fill so the clean cycle happened automatically. Having retired from a floor care business of over 40 years I am now only cleaning some 1400 square feet of hard floors in my own home. Not wanting to break out a mop and bucket each time I do them nor a side to side scrubber and wet vacuum for the ceramic, I find this powerful little machine more than adequate for the task! 3000 amazing rpm at the brush, plus GREAT suction in the pickup is a tremendous time saver! The multi surface brush gets down in the grout lines.Easy (1 minute) cleanup makes it a snap!We have many pets and this amazes me how it gets all of the hair off the floor and even the grout!Had I had this inexpensive little bugger vs. a Tennant IMop @ $6000 a toss, I would have used it for my small commercial restroom cleaning in my convenience store ... Yes, I love this Crosswave Hydrosteam. It was able to steam clean, and vacuum up to the edges of the wall. The Bissell floor cleaning solution leaves floor clean and shiny. It actually mops/steam/vacuums in one action on the steamer control function. And if you only need to vacuum hard floor, it has that control to vacuum with or without water in the tank, to get up a quick mess. I had dried chunks of food on the floor, and it took it up without a hitch, including a dried green bean on the steamer function. On my plank flooring, some tiny stuck-on-floor food particles, it could not get up, even with multiple pass attempts. However, the steam softened it, and was very little fingernail effort to scrape it off so easy; my pro vacuum cleaner can't even get up stuck on ... MoreYes, I love this Crosswave Hydrosteam. The Bissell Crosswave Hydrosteam is a total game changer with hard floor cleaning in less time, by the steam scrub function that vacuums and washes the floor in one convenience. Ready to try the self cleaner; great to have that. Rinsing out the dirty water tank is easy. Thank you Bissell.
Unless you have completely smooth floors without grout lines this machine will not work for you. Save your hard earned dollars or you'll have a very expensive item sitting useless in your closet. I am a Bissell fan and I am very happy with their other products, but this crosswave was a major let down. I had such high hopes and really wanted to love it, but it leaves my floors wet and in turn has actually made my grout lines dirty. My house is almost all tile with a slight texture that my old Floormate had no problem cleaning well and finishing dry. The crosswave does not dry well, the suction is too weak. The idea is fabulous and the customer service is great. I was quickly sent a replacement, but unfortunately the design is the problem. If you have a tile floor ... I was hopeful that I would receive the Bissell Crosswave Cordless Max for Christmas....and I did! In no time at all (compared to my old method of getting down on my hands and knees with many wet cloths and cleaning liquid) the mess was a just a memory, and once again I walked away knowing the floors were clean.I've seen a review that complained about the cleanup. Let me tell you, this thing is a breeze! First of all, it cleans the brush roll all by itself!! The remaining parts that you should clean takes a total of less than 5 minutes. This is my favorite housekeeping tool for floors...EVER!
I bought this thinking it would simplify my life and make cleaning the house easier. I have 2 children under the age of 3 and 2 dogs. I read the reviews which seem stellar, watched videos and thought to myself, this will make things so much easier! Wrong. First off, you need to clean the machine after every use. As a busy mom i find that part annoying. I don't always get to it and sometimes forget. Don't forget about it! It'll stink real bad and now when I use it, it doesn't smell super fresh. Second, people saw how awesome this is for pets, it's not. I find myself having to vacuum or sweep before using this making it useless because it's supposed to do both. I've tried using it without vacuuming first and it just leaves a ton of dog hair that needs to be swept up ... MoreI bought this thinking it would simplify my life and make cleaning the house easier. I honestly find myself using a stick vacuum and swifter more often because it takes less time. Using it everyday is not an option because I'd have to clean it everyday and who's got time for that?!
