Yes, the unit was left to full charge when taken out of the box for at least 24 hours and should be fully charged. I have an almost similar 12V B&D that is about 7 years old and can perform better than this new purchase.Harvey Norman, can I return this in exchange of another brand?

This makes all the difference when you are trying to manoeuvre into tight corners (eg, car cleaning).Other great features include: easy to empty, high-capacity drum (relative to other dustbusters), tidy charging station, strong suction, long run time lithium ion battery (no memory problems). Only downside is the noise but that is hard to avoid with small, high-revving motors. If the motor was bigger it would be quieter but also heavier and the lightness is a nice feature of this unit.

A great little hand held vacuum cleaner! I'm very happy with this little dust buster. The suction is pretty good for its size and it picks up a lot of debris and dust - including pet hair - very well. I like that it doesn't take too long to recharge either.One big draw back though is the pitiful 'instruction booklet' that comes with it. No written explanations just very hard to decipher pictures and some parts are missing altogether. But I managed to figure it out by watching a few videos on you tube and just fiddling with it until it made sense. Once you get the hang of it it's actually very easy to use, clean and recharge. I would definitely recommend this fab little vacuum cleaner!

This is the second one of there I have owned. The first one retired after 8 years of solid consist operation without any trouble at all. Awesome little unit. PD 1820L-XE
The suction compared to my old one is half the suction, it’s supposed to be the same or more. I was going to buy the same type to replace my old black and decker hand held, so this was to be our 3rd one we’ve had over 10yrs. But I think because of the hose, the suction is meh. I thought it would be really handy with the hose, but there’s just not as much suction as the old one. Bummer :(
This is our second B&D dust buster. Weve had our 1st one for many years and used it regularly. Its so flexible and practical with powerful suction. Love it!
Great vacuum works like a dream, battery is fantastic and gets into all the small spaces. Easy to clean and use. Delivery was an absolute nightmare. I had so much trouble getting it delivered. From inaccurate advertised timing to follow up/time spent calling to find out when my item is. Do not get this item delivered.
This is Exactly what I was looking for. Powerful enough to do the job - especially on car carpets but lightweight enough to make it hassle free. Perfect. Thanks B&D never stop making this product. A+ compared to what choices are out there for similar products.
Novel looking little unit that is powerful but incredibly loud, so much so I felt I needed earplugs using it! I guess that might be the price you pay for it being quite powerful for its size. Also, the instructions were for a plug in charger rather than the one I received with charges on a small plastic charging plate so it took me an age to figure out how to charge it as I was looking for the wrong thing. Interesting design. If it were just a bit quieter it would be perfect.
I purchased this in store and I am really happy I did. This handheld vacuum cleaner has excellent suction and is ideal for cleaning car interiors, furniture, upholstery etc. The charge lasts about fifteen to twenty minutes while charging it up takes two to three hours. It seems to improve in charge longevity after a few full discharge/charge cycles. This product does a really good job and you can tell it is well manufactured. A good investment to regularly clean your car as well as hard to reach places. It is easily emptied and straightforward to clean the filter. It only came with two fittings, perhaps could have had more, but the fittings work well.
