Bodum ASSAM Teapot, Glass Teapot with Stainless Steel Filter, 34 Ounce
Brewing loose-leaf tea or tea bags has never been easier ¿ or cleaner. The Bodum Assam Medium Tea Press serves 4 ¿ 5 people and is made from durable, heat-resistant borosilicate glass. Designed after the traditional teapot shape, the Assam embodies a more modern, spout-less look. To brew, simply set the durable stainless steel filter into the glass pot. Fill the strainer with the appropriate amount of your favorite loose-leaf tea. Pour hot water over the leaves, filling the pot. Then set the plunger/lid in place in the up position. Allow the tea to brew to your liking and then press down on the plunger. The press compresses the tea leaves below the infusion holes in the strainer; completely stopping the brewing process. The Assam Tea Press puts an end to bitter, over brewed tea. Once you press, you can rest assured that your first cup and your third cup will taste exactly the same. There's no need to remove the filter and there's no mess. What you have left is the true unforgettable and delicious taste of your preferred tea. Some teas can even be brewed a second or third time, making the Shin Cha tea press the perfect choice. Just stir up the tea leaves and fill the pot back up with hot water, repeating the process. It is a clean and easy way to enjoy loose-leaf tea whether it is black, green, white, blooming or herbal tea. The clear glass leaves the infusion remain visible at all times, making it a very attractive table piece. The Assam is dishwasher safe and the glass teapot is microwave safe. The glass Assam Tea Press is available in both small (2 cup - 0.5 l, 17 oz.) and medium (4 cup - 1.0 l, 34 oz.) sizes. This medium version has a 1.0 l, 34 oz. capacity.

Great product. I love this tea pot from bodum. I am really a tea drinker and i love to prepare my own tea with leaves and this pot makes it very easy instead of using a leaves sack, you only have to put you tea in the middle of the teapot with hot water and when you get the intensity you going for, you Just have use the plunger to push the leaves down and you are ready to enjoy your fresh hot tea. I love to make mint and ginger tea with this pot.
This teapot is the best way of making your morning cup of tea, if you are a person who does not like stewed tea. The plunger locks the tea into a compartment at the bottom of the cassette, which means that you can leave the tea there and come back to it later, with no ill effects to the tea. I highly recommend this teapot!
Makes an excellent pot of tea. This is the second pot we have bought. The first one lasted over 15 years and only had to be replaced due to being dropped.
I have nothing against the product, but the information description about this product on elgiganten web site is misleading. It says that the product has a stainless steel seive, but it's a Plastic one. It's mentioned twice on the product yet what I received is the plastic seive. So watch out of what you order.S
I work for a teashop so am particular about my steeping. I found this to be perfectly suited for producing an unadulterated experience of the tea thanks to the glass. It is a big win that there is no plastic involved. Though, the stretchy buffer around the steeping basket is an exception; nevertheless, the leaves do not come into contact with it. I find the steeping basket to be excellent in catching particulate due to the closed (non porous) base of the basket. My only small complaint is the the stretchy material has been cut by the metal edge of the basket and now has a tear. Still very functional and unparalleled in its sleek Bodum style.
We've been using one of these teapots every afternoon for many years. Even though the old one still works well, we took the opportunity to buy a back-up while it was on sale.My wife's English, which perhaps explains why afternoon tea in our house is almost a sacred ceremony. It's usually accompanied by a shared reading of a book - well, I read aloud and my wife crotchets. The teapot sits on a teapot warmer in a small box, which is covered by a hand towel, keeping the tea hot for hours if needed. The tea press ensures that the tea doesn't keep brewing.Too much information? Sorry, please see the review title.
Bought this only six weeks ago and despite handling with kid gloves due to its obvious fragility it has now been broken - not by hitting against something, we were far too careful for that, but because when removing the metal canister it flicked - yes FLICKED - against the glass, and is now history. The thing has a groove to show where to pull on to free it from the pot, and when you do so, this happens. Avoid ! - though they probably think that you love it so much that you'll just order umpteen lucrative glass replacements ... :-(
