This is a warranty replacement for a 2017 Emonda 8 that I loved for 60,000 miles. Initially concerned about a little weight penalty but the disc brakes and electronic shifting more than make up any minimal weight gain. The most stable and comfortable bike I've owned and it's a dream in the hills. Would rate it 5 stars but haven't ridden it long enough yet and, you know, there is always room for improvement.

Awesome tires! They roll very smoothly on the flats and are quite stable on descents. I ride the SoCal roads and get 1,200 miles on the back tire and 2,200 up front. I could probably stretch it a bit farther, but would rather change out a tire on a lazy Saturday afternoon than swap out a flat tube on a crucial training morning! :-). Highly recommended.

I run 29x2.4's on my Trek hardtail front and rear. These tires work very well in the green, blue and black trails I've ridden from single track and fire road; on clay, loam and sandy soils with small chunk to regular rock gardens, it all works. Traction has been good. Only 1 puncture in almost a year's worth of regular riding and have held up with Stans No Tube DART system. No complaints, will replace like in kind when the time comes.

I put on a new set of these tires on my Fuel 9.8 and am extremely disappointed with the wear. I have a 29x2.6 front and a 29x2.4 rear. I ride a lot of hand cut old school trails and after 1 month (400 miles) my rear tire looks in bad shape. My pressure is 25-27 and run tubeless. When this set is done, I will have to go back to a maxxis.

I Just purchased my second pair (25mm). I'm amazed on how many miles I put on the first pair 6000+ miles, Wow! They got rotated at about 3000 miles. The tires were showing the micro cracks on the tread surface but very few cuts. In all those miles I only had one flat and I don't think it was the tire's fault. I'm 190lbs and run them at 100psi. They're easy to put on and the feel lively when I ride. They're fast and corner well on the downhills. I will be putting them on my wife's bike soon.

Purchased a Project One Emonda less than a year ago. Bike simply fell over in my garage onto my bike stand causing a small chip in the paint. What I thought was just a chip turned out to be a crack as well. A bike of this caliber should not have cracked under this circumstance. Unfortunately, I'm not getting adequate support from customer service and I need to purchase a new frameset. After 25 years and a few dozen trek bikes I will no longer be purchasing or representing the brand.

Awesome and speedy

I thought jumping to a 28 trye would slow me down as always been on a 23 tyre and the mindset anything fatter would slow me down! Well I was not disappointed the road sticks to these tyres and such a comfortable ride absorbing a lot of the poor surfaces we face here on British roads. Been on some dodgy surfaces and go gets crossed no punctures! No lose of speed and the rolling resistance is so good. Definitely sticking to these and such a great price I got them for of Sigma. Didn't think anything was a good as GP Continental 4000 well these are a match.

Great tyre

I’ve had 3-4 of the R3 hard case tubeless tyres. They are a good solid performing tubeless tyre. Quite tight to get on the rim, quite reasonable performance, I haven’t found anything better.

These are a second pair of R3 hard case lite clinchers I have purchased. The first pair 25mm on summer bike with conti supersonic innertubes. Fantastically fast. Second pair 28mm on winter bike with standard conti innertubes and lower pressure. Still rolls quite fast. The pimple tread on the shoulders give confidence wet and dry. The tyres are looking if they will be a good long hard wearing tyre. I was a big fan of schwalbe for many years and still think they are pretty good but now these R3 hard case lites are proving to be my favourite by a long way and sigma sport sold them at a very competitive price so smiles all round.

Poor Puncture Protection
9 July 2021

After reading the reviews on these, I decided to go with them over the Continental 5000 Grand Prix, due to the perceived puncture protection and rolling resistance. I purchased a 25C for the front tyre and a 28C for the back tyre. On my very first ride out, I ended up having a puncture on my front tyre. We have recently done a 200 mile coast to coast ride and ended up having a further two punctures on my rear tyre, so not really impressed at all, have done little over 400 miles on these and suffered 3 punctures. A friend of mine at the same time purchased the Continental 5000 Grand Prix tyres and had no issues whatsoever. I think I know what I will be swapping these out for!
