I purchased the T8 about 8 months ago to replace my T1 mixer. I have been generally satisfied with the T8, mostly because now I can run mix my keyboards in Stereo. However, I have found a few flaws, 2 of them serious, which I have a hard time understanding how a leader in sound like Bose would allow these in a product. 1) MOST SERIOUS is the loud pop that happens when the unit is turned ON. Don't know what causes it, but it clearly shows on the meters, as high as 0db. The problem is that the pop sound is allowed to pass through the main outs and pops the speakers! This also happens when powering down too, but to a lesser degree. Adjusting main volume down makes no difference. Why can't Bose mute the outs for a few seconds during power up?! My T1 mixer never did ... MoreI purchased the T8 about 8 months ago to replace my T1 mixer. I have been generally satisfied with the T8, mostly because now I can run mix my keyboards in Stereo. This is a huge problem when feeding auxiliary systems or recording devices. 3) The Effects Delay Mix % is very different on the T8 (about ½ for similar effect vs the T1). I've learned to "translate" my T1 settings to T8, so this is a nuisance.

I run a karaoke and I purchased this replace my Behringer Xenyx mixer. Initially I was using a Audioquest Dragonfly Cobalt USB DAC via wired input thru channels 3 and 4, but have discovered this Bose's internal DAC sounds better with USB connection from my PC. USB audio can be routed into any of the channels to give full EQ control leaving 1 & 2 for microphones. This mixer totally fulfils my requirements and expectations. I am running it with a Bose Sub1 connecting to 2 QSC CP8s with Sennheiser XSW wireless XLR's and wireless AKG mics. The overall set-up is awesome, thanks to this little Bose mixer.

I used this product to mix acoustic guitars and vocals for small to medium-sized performance venues. The value added is for people with limited expertise in adjusting settings for different inputs. Bose created preset options for popular equipment based on the manufacturer's recommended settings for each product. If you are uncertain how to adjust the settings for a Shure Beta 57A, just select that option in the Bose menu and the Tonematch will automatically adjust the settings to match Shure's recommended settings for that specific microphone. Bose has provided these presets for a multitude of instruments and equipment. The system allows fine-tuning those settings and or adding numerous effects to suit your individual taste or the Tonematch presets can be ignored ... MoreI used this product to mix acoustic guitars and vocals for small to medium-sized performance venues. For a pro-audio novice with demanding standards for quality, I cannot imagine a quicker or easier route to performance quality sound. Thank you, Bose and Sam Ash.

Currently use Bose L1 Model 2 w/ B1 bass. I have used a variety of 8 - 12 channel mixers. I like the Bose because multiple effects (chorus, reverb, delay, echo) can be used and mixed at the same time. For me, the Bose T4 has proven to be the best sounding and most versatile mixer so far. My Bose sound system is 11 years old, has been used in many hot summer and humid outdoor events, down to 42 degrees. It been rained on and dried, endured the salt ocean air of the Florida Keys, played hard and loud, and continues to sound clear, loud, and consistently great. It might not be everyone's best choice, but it is for me.
I sat on the fence for ages before deciding to buy the new Bose T4s and had read quite a few mixed reviews.I decided to bite the bullet and check it out and it has been a total game changer. There is so much more in terms of useable presets and additional connections. The underside attachment for fitting to a mic stand is a brilliant bonus and allows you to keep the mixer at arms length, so much better than the previous flimsy attachment that Bose offered. The display is clearer and the addition of a headphone output is a handy extra that allows you to sit in the comfort of your armchair and select your own settings rather than trial and error at a gig.The magnetic cover makes access easy and keeps the unit safe and secure. Before buying this I had read ... MoreI sat on the fence for ages before deciding to buy the new Bose T4s and had read quite a few mixed reviews.I decided to bite the bullet and check it out and it has been a total game changer. Before buying this I had read reviews from users saying the absence of an individual volume for the auxiliary when using an iPad was an issue, but I don’t see it as a problem, I use an iPad with my tracks, you simply connect via an aux and use the iPad to control volume, so simple, and it still leaves four XLR channels available. As a soloist this new T4s is superb for my needs, one channel for vocals, one for electric guitar and one for mandolin/banjo and each with their own independent EQ and preset.Using with the new Pro16 makes it even more flexible because the Pro16 has bluetooth so you don’t even need the mixer to play tracks!Excellent piece of kit that offers stunning studio quality sound. It’s also brilliant in the studio, I hooked it up to my WA-47 and into my Apollo Twin and recorded a vocal using one of the presets and the finished track didn’t need any post processing, so I am now using my retired T1 in the studio. The Bose Tonematch is a seriously brilliant piece of kit that compliments the PA perfectly and is as useful in the studio. The most versatile mixer I have ever owned.
Great piece of kit that could have wiped the floor with everything else - but fundamental user needs have been forgotten in the pursuit of sonic excellence - without the ergonomics.Channels 5/6 are the audio inputs - and there is no volume control knob - volume is controlled by selecting the master selector knob and choosing Pan/Aux>selecting main>selecting 5/6 and then rotating a knob for each individual channel - not an overall option - but this is multi levels down in the menu.Working live on stage that is unsustainable. The excuse given is that most instruments or sound sources will have a volume control on them. That may be the case but THIS is the mixer - not the audio device. No option to select different reverb for each channel - it's still global - ... MoreGreat piece of kit that could have wiped the floor with everything else - but fundamental user needs have been forgotten in the pursuit of sonic excellence - without the ergonomics.Channels 5/6 are the audio inputs - and there is no volume control knob - volume is controlled by selecting the master selector knob and choosing Pan/Aux>selecting main>selecting 5/6 and then rotating a knob for each individual channel - not an overall option - but this is multi levels down in the menu.Working live on stage that is unsustainable. The excuse given is that most instruments or sound sources will have a volume control on them. That may be the case but THIS is the mixer - not the audio device. No option to select different reverb for each channel - it's still global - small, medium, large etc and then a varying degree for each channel. The lid cannot be used as an on-gig cover - only in transit.Currently the input level settings on channels 5/6 are extremely high compared to the T1.Input sensitivity on the mic channels is extremely high - had to reduce my mic output by 14db to be comfortable on the T4S - where it used to be plus 14db on the T1.No nylon cover supplied with it - so put up with it getting gig scratched. The new "photographic camera tripod" mounting option is frankly introducing clutter - it states in the manual "use a camera tripod and mount" - which will add another tripod on the stage. I'm still searching for a threaded mount option to put a bracket on my existing mic stand. Why couldn't they have put both? The hole for existing Bose mic stand brackets and the new thread for photographically inclined musicians? The new addition of a headphone socket - I'll never ever use. Please - in some firmware update - route volume control for 5/6 through pot 4 as an option. Yeah I know it can't but.....I will be using the T4S with two L1 MKll and 2 B2's and as I don't use 4 mics I'll run with two extra leads; 1. Stereo mini jack to a single XLR - pin 1 hot taking left and right which I'll plug into channel 4 and use as a music control pot.If running stereo I'll go stereo mini jack to two XLR's and use 3 and 4 for the same.Any sudden outbursts I can mute both channels. As usual - sonically - beautiful together with a Shure Beta 87A and QLXD pack - using the presets.Love it - but not enough to sell my T1 - which is sooo much easier to configure and will remain my workhorse. The T4S will be the weapon of choice when running twin L1 stacks tho.
Sound:Sounds as good as you can dial in. In my case it sounds very good, your sound can be dialed in by frequency or presets. Great foe acoustic guitar, easy to dial out feedback by dialing out its frequency.Features:I run a Headrush Gigboard thru it sounds great. You need to use balanced TRS cables.Ease of Use:This Bose T8S compliments my Martin D14 CS guitar using the Martin D28 preset, as I previously mentioned I use it with my Headrush Gigboard flawlessly, sounds great and I can mix from the T8 while playing.Quality:Its built very well (as it should be in this price range), should hold up well to moving in and out. Also comes with an optional carry case that works well.Value:Am I glad it was $999.00? No! But, it is a good value and its an awesome ... MoreSound:Sounds as good as you can dial in. Had to buy another.Manufacturer Support:Yes, I once had a problem with the base (bottom section of my Bose L1 Model 2 about 6 months after purchase and they immediately replaced it. No hassle!Overall:I made the mistake of selling my Bose T8S a few months ago with an L1 system. Tried several different systems to replace the L1 Model 2/T8S and ended up almost right back where I started. Most of all I missed this mixer, works great for a singer/guitar playing with background music. Setup is a breeze, its light and sounds great! Wish they were a little cheaper but I guess you get what you pay for. This was my first order from zZ, have bought lots of music equipment over the years from several different internet companies and this was easy as it gets, everything went great, including 2 day free delivery to MO. Thanks zZounds!
I'm liking my new Bose T8S mixer.I like:8 channels (with two aux inputs for a possible 10 inputs.STEREO! Simply pan where you want a channel to be in the stereo field. Of course, this requires a stereo-capable PA.Compact sizeIntuitive layout and operation. In fact, if you are upgrading from a T1 like me, it operates the same so there's little to no learning curve at all, just more channels.Note: Be sure and upgrade the firmware before use.
I would like to start my review by first saying that I am a very loyal Bose product user. For Home, Studio and as a Musician. For several years I have been using two Tone Match units in parallel anticipating the release of the T8S. I am one of the first in Canada to purchase this unit and I was very excited to be able to finally put it to use. The excitement has worn off quickly. I have found that, like any new or improved product, some of the improvements are not that at all. The warmth and depth of reverb section on the new unit does not match that of the original Tone Match units. With regards to the headphone in jack and volume control, this is basically just another output without capability of channel preview so DJs beware. I mainly use it with a single L1-II ... MoreI would like to start my review by first saying that I am a very loyal Bose product user. For Home, Studio and as a Musician. The warmth and depth of reverb section on the new unit does not match that of the original Tone Match units. With regards to the headphone in jack and volume control, this is basically just another output without capability of channel preview so DJs beware. I mainly use it with a single L1-II system but I wanted the capabilities to use it in a conventional left and right configuration using a L1-II system on each side of the the stage. I had a few performances recently that needed this set up and unfortunately the mixer failed miserably. After 20 minutes of use the T8S starting shutting down. First the right side of the set up went quiet and after 20 seconds or more it kicked back in. This happened 4 times and then finally both sides went quiet on 3 occasions. The time had come for a me to shut the whole system down and trouble shoot the challenge that had arisen. After using the different outlets and all the possible wiring combinations I could think of, the system discontinued to perform. It had to be shut down again and then I went back to using just one L1-II system with a single quarter inch cord for output purposes. Luckily after only 2 further occasions of interrupted sound, it began to function properly. These are not firmware challenges, these are hardware challenges that I truly hope can be addressed. The company is sending me a new unit so hopefully my challenges are isolated ones. if not, my review will remain at 1 only because of my loyalty to the product line.
Cant go wrong! Full of features for any acoustic conditions. Better when paired with BOSE PAs. Easy to use with instinctive controls. Illuminated panelno need for lights to make adjustments in the dark. Compact design easy to store anywhere when on the road. TomeMatch is magical unsurpassed technology! Reliable and durable construction. The price??? Not cheap-understand that you pay for the quality and
