Boss DD-8 Digital Delay
BOSS reinvents delay once again with the DD-8, a loaded pedal that delivers the most wide-ranging and feature-rich delay in the BOSS compact series. Eleven modes provide delay colors from basic to exotic, plus an onboard looper offers unlimited overdub capability. For maximum versatility in a minimum amount of space, the DD-8 is an amazing pedal to add to your signal chain. Clean digital delays, vintage analog and tape types and modulation echo are available, plus specialty delays like shimmer and reverse. There's a new Warm type for softer echo tones and a +RV type that blends delay and reverb together. The DD-8 delivers ambient swells and textures with the Warp mode, as well as glitchy rhythmic effects with the new GLT type. Immersive Stereo SoundEverything sounds bigger and better in stereo and the DD-8 delivers with full stereo I/O support and three output modes. The default setting provides independent delays, with normal delays on Output A and long delays on Output B. There's also a panning mode for ping-pong delay effects and a wide stereo mode for enhanced spatial depth. Hands-Free ExpressionThe DD-8 offers extensive real-time delay options to bring your music to life. You can tap in tempos with the onboard pedal switch and control the Warp and GLT modes for unique expressive effects. Adding one or two optional footswitches unlocks more creative possibilities, like on-demand tap tempo, extended looper control and a Twist effect for soaring echo sounds. An expression pedal provides continuous control of level, feedback or delay time—or all at once. Built-in Looper and Smart I/OThe DD-8's looper mode offers up to 40 seconds of recording time to create on-the-fly backing tracks and ambient layers. The DD-8's inputs and outputs have smart functionality, allowing you to set the pedal for any application by connecting cables in different ways. A variety of mono and stereo connections are supported, including discrete dry and effect outputs for wet/dry setups.

I have been playing for 35 years. I have owned DOZENS of Delays. Oddly never a Boss DD...I did get the Waza, and I loved it. I also own a Strymon, and UAD Satrlight. They are phenomenal but pricey!Bottom line; I love the versatility of this pedal. Moreover, the lushness is very creamy. May not as good as UAD but it's less than half the cost too!Buy it! You won't regret it!AMS so easy to work with

I haven't purchased a Boss delay for years. I did buy a DM-2 Waza to retire my vintage unit. I've just always been an analog delay guy. However, I bought the DD-8 on a whim because I needed a delay for a project that required some specific sounds. Namely a stereo reverse delay sound. I figured I'd give this one a try. This is a home run pedal. Every notch on the mode knob yielded usable and inspiring delays. The only part that I haven't used is the looper but if it works like the other modes, I'm sure it's excellent. No regrets here on this one. It might even knock a Strymon delay off of my main board.

Brilliant delay pedal. Lots of interesting modes along with the classic ones. Delay + chorus is very nice to the point that you might not need a separate chorus pedal, and the inclusion of a basic looper is the icing on the cake.

Possibly the best delay out there in a stomp box. The shimmer setting is priceless at adding character to clean rigs that need a harmonic under tone. Dont delay! Buy yours today! Lol
Very pleased with this pedal. Sturdy build quality. Does not tip over when used on a carpet floor (unlike mini pedals). My only comments, why have a built in looper ? Then you cant use a delay ? Seems pointless. Also a blue LED would look better.Nice options otherwise.
This is a great do everything delay pedal with a tap tempo added in just for good measure. I would highly recommend this unit if you are looking for a versatile delay and you don't need midi or a a selection of presets. As always Boss has nailed what most giving musicians need in an easy to understand box.
I already had the Boss dd-3t delay but was switching it between my guitar and microphone amps. I needed a second delay dedicated to the guitar. I am happy with the dd-8 and some of the additional features over the dd-3t. But if I didn't need a second delay , either one works equally good on the guitar.
I love the Boss DD-8 digital delay pedal. It's a lot of fun to experiment with the different delay types and the feedback and time parameters. I am considering getting an expression pedal to connect to the delay pedal. Excellent pedal for those trying to capture the essence of the psychedelic experience through guitar. recommend ordering a PSA AC adapter (check the instruction manual for the appropriate type). It came with a 9-volt battery already in place so it was nice to be able to use it immediately.
A number of delays in this pedal. The "standard " delay can seem kinda empty compared to the other delays. But, there is a "warm" version of it in the pedal. So you get pure, digital delay + warmth. The "tape" delay is good. Would like more control of the tails on it but, this is a 3 +1 knob pedal. The "analog" delay is great, think carbon copy. The "shimmer" is lackluster compared to the shimmer on the Boss RV 6. The "looper" is basic but useful. Even better with an optional foot switch. Typical of boss. The "reverse" is what it is. The "+RV" is great in a pinch. Add the "mod" and you have some chorus added in. "Warp" and "GLT" I haven't used. All in all, this delay pedal is a home run for the size and price. So versatile! I really enjoy the clean ‘normal’ and ‘warm’ mode. I did not expect that to be honest! I have more experience with analog and tape delay. These modes also sound good to my ear. Tap mode works very nice also. The tap division selection is a bit difficult but I mainly use quarter note repeats anyway. Can definitely recommend! I even sold my Strymon el Capistan because for my needs the Boss suits me even better. It can do such a lot of different sounds
