Strymon Dig - Dual Digital Delay Pedal
DIG unearths the true soul of digital delay and doubles it—two simultaneous, integrated delays with the captivating rack delay voicings from the 1980s and today, for incredible expressive potential. Effortlessly create your own world of intricate and synchronized echoes, along with hypnotic and atmospheric repeats that blur the line between delay and reverb. Stretch your sonic horizons with five musically satisfying rhythmic subdivisions and three dual delay routing options. Go from syncopated, pulsating delay patterns, to evocative, spaced-out echo trails all in a compact, pedalboard-friendly format. Rack-mount digital delays of the ’80s ushered in a new era of audio effects. The innovative electronic designs generated the cleanest delays yet to be heard, but also created their own special and intriguing sonic characteristics. Thirty-plus years later, these sounds remain as distinctive and inspiring as ever. Strymon's thorough investigation of digital delay technology reveals the unique personalities that these delays possess. Delve into DIG’s three digital delay voicings: the early ’80s adaptive delta modulation mode, the mid-’80s 12 bit pulse code modulation mode, and the modern high-resolution 24/96 mode. Multiply these distinct voicings by two and get DIG—your perfect dual delay ally.

You can get basically any type of delay sound you want out of this amazing unit. The ping-pong setting is super cool too if you split your signal in stereo and use 2 amps or are recording in stereo. Like all the Strymon pedals, the sound quality is incredible and virtually limitless in terms of how many different sounds you can get, and yet it's pretty easy to manipulate just using the switches and knobs. You can get everything from a high-end digital sounding delay, either by itself or use the "Mix 2" knob to start bouncing a 2nd delay off the first. Super cool, highly recommended.

Best digital delay I’ve ever used. Very musical sounds and intuitive controls. Love the ability to adjust the levels of the 2 delays.

I'm a noob when it comes to the guitar world as I've only been playing a little over a year, however I just bought this Strymon DIG and it is amazing. I use it in conjunction with my Marshall Code 50 and the amount of unique sounds you can achieve whether using presets or custom is insane. You can achieve a very "U2" sound with this pedal if you are in to that sort of thing. This pedal is worth every penny. As always, Sales Engineer Cameryn Wright was thorough in catching up with me after my purchase and answering any questions I might have had. Sweetwater is an excellent company to purchase from and I will continue to do so in the future.

I love the idea of a 2nd delay on my board that compliments the sweet tones of my analog Diamond Memory Lane Jr. The Strymon Dig had promise, and if I just stop at the tone side of things, it'd get that job done. It even promised to do even more, with the ability to layer a 2nd delay on top, and do so in a much smaller footprint than my similarly digital sounding Visual Sound Dual Delay. However, I think I've been spoiled by the ridiculously simple and straightforward layouts of those 2 pedals - you can glance down at either one and know exactly what you're going to be getting, and it's easy to make small tweaks on the fly with those 2. Not so with the Strymon Dig - I had to consult the manual numerous times just to dial in basic tones on Delay 1, because, confusingly, much of the layout and controls reference delay 2 - especially the time divisions. To get to the time divisions (e.g. quarter or dotted-8th) you have to know/memorize that the 1st ~1/3rd of the time division section is, say quarter notes, the middle 1/3rd is dotted-8th, etc. That's just too much to ask, I'm thinking. I even tried to just use delay 2, thinking I could outsmart it that way, but no go. As a result, I never even tried the interesting-sounding Gold Ratio setting. Too bad...
Having 2 delay effects in one really does mean that you are in a different place from a performance perspective.
A superb pedal. Rich tones and fairly easy to navigate around. It is rather expensive but, as is usually the case, you tend to get what you pay for.
Amazing bit of kit. Fantastic quality, very versatile, warm sounds, lots of variation. I bought a Brigadier a few weeks befor the Dig came out. I swapped it for the Dig as soon as I found out the Dig was coming out. Very glad I did.
This is an extraordinary digital delay pedal. It sounds wonderful. If it had a digital readout so you could see your tempo, and the ability to store three presets, it would be perfect.
