I sold an El Capistan and a TC Flashback 2, among other pedals to buy this. What great sounds can be dialed in with the TimeLine. And the presets are excellent as-is.I have a midi pedal controller that just arrived that will offer some extra utility connecting to a Mobius. The looper is simple and effective so far for practicing parts. What a great bargain.Sam Ash was so easy to deal with and helpful with my purchase.Thanks.

I’m not sure if it was just this unit, but the selection knobs seemed stuck, and only worked sporadically. I honestly didn’t know if the pedal was either damaged somehow, or if it was just that hard to use. I use Mobius and Big Sky, so I’m familiar enough with these boxes to know this was just hard to use, and hard to see the appeal. I recently bought the Walrus Audio D1 delay, and I’m 100% happy with it.

The complete delay pedal. An added bonus is that the Strymon Nixie and Librarian software work under Manjaro Linux and Wine - make sure to update from the Librarian software which allows Nixie to see the hardware pedal connection. I used a Roland Um-One Midi to USB interface as recommended by others.

I'll make this short and sweet. This thing is packed with sounds and there is a natural delay that seems to be missing with other delay pedals. My only complaint is not the product but Sam Ash the selector knob and mod knob get stuck when I press down. I wish I could take it back but unfortunately I live to far away to take it back and the minor annoyance is not worth my trouble. If I can avoid buying from Sam Ash going forward I probably will.
Simply the best delay pedal you could want. (Well, let’s say 12 delay pedals actually!) Sonically superior to anything else I’ve used before. The gain boost function is unique to this pedal, so highly recommend. You really do get what you pay for!
Very good quality pedal. Every little nuance of delay sounds are tweakable. Plenty of presets. Easy to access patches and parameters. Expensive, but worth it
The legendary Strymon Timeline. You could spend a week just watching the demo videos on the Strymon site alone.I could tell you about the (literally) millions of variations in delay you can get from this one small pedal. However, I'm going to tell you the top five things I liked most about this pedal and then the only thing I disliked about this pedal.Likes:1. Sound Quality: I'm a Carbon Copy kind of guy. This pedal blows my Carbon Copy away. This pedal blows away every delay that I have ever tried. It does it right out of the box. Every. Single. Setting. It makes no sense how good this thing sounds.2. Ease Of Use: Every knob and switch on this [except one variable parameter knob] made perfect sense from the moment I turned it on. The additional knob that didn't ... MoreThe legendary Strymon Timeline. You could spend a week just watching the demo videos on the Strymon site alone.I could tell you about the (literally) millions of variations in delay you can get from this one small pedal. The additional knob that didn't make sense was simply full of a bunch of variables that I didn't even imagine needing even after a full day of just playing around. It can get complicated, but only if you really want it to.3. Versatility: This is simply a multi-effects pedal disguised as a delay pedal. Want a solid multi-effects unit without all the amp models, pedalboard environments and cab simulators? Well this bad boy has a delay with just about every kind of overdrive, fuzz, pitch shift, flange, phase, chorus and reverb you could possibly imagine dialing in. Imagine each patch as your own personal effects loop. Now you have 200 of them. Oh and they're all loopable. Have fun.4. Cost: $450 for a delay pedal seems like a lot. Have you noticed that most other higher end delay pedals cost at least $300 (some as high as $600) and only do ONE THING. I guarantee this pedal can do what that pedal just did.My only Dislike is that there's just WAY TOO MUCH TO MESS WITH: Everything sounds so darn good, its impossible to choose what is needed for each part of each song or riff. You're going to get so creative with this tool that you're going to forget that you had a task at hand that you needed to accomplish. You'll be too busy fiddling and having fun to even take the time to make that perfect song.I just sold my Nova System, my HD500, my RP1000 and my GT-1 because the Strymon Timeline eliminated the need for all of them. Somehow, it will never replace my Carbon Copy. However, If given the option that you only could have one pedal ever. Regardless of cost, this might be the one.
The Strymon Timeline is one amazing delay pedal. The tone colorations that this pedal can produce are awe inspiring and range from subtle, dreamy wisps to wacked out, warp drive driven reverberations. If there is a delay-driven sound that this pedal cannot produce, I couldn’t find it. The configurability is mind numbing. Even after a few months with this pedal, I am still learning about it and experimenting with new sounds. And it’s not just the configurability. The sounds it produces are beautiful and you can dial them in to perfection with the settings. The MIDI interface is a bonus that allows you to build preset configurations that can be quickly switched to during a performance, provided you have a MIDI controller. The MIDI interface is a bonus that allows you to build preset configurations that can be quickly switched to during a performance, provided you have a MIDI controller. It is a large pedal, so you will have to commit a fair amount of pedalboard real estate to it, but that comes with owning such a versatile pedal. The display is also not visible if you perform outside. It’s jus too dim to make out. If you dial in your configurations at home or during rehearsal, however, and use a MIDI controller to switch between them, this shouldn’t be a problem. Overall, I love this pedal and I would give it a six if I could.
beautiful sounds and so much more. From spacy delay to psychedelic to slap or whatever delay you have in mind in just a few pushes and twists away. There are many presets on this pedal so yeah a multiswitch or a midi controller will be in your future shoppinglist. also if you download strymon librarian program you can change your presets on your laptop.but you wil need a special midi cable for that.for the people who are doubting between timeline and nemesis. there are some other sounds on each of them but the same you need a midiswitch for presets and the nemesis has also a app to change the presets? you cant go wrong with any of them!
This is the first time for me trying a Strymon pedal. I really wondered if they lived up to the hype I read on all of the forums. I've owned delays from other companies such at TC Electronics, Digitech, Line 6, and Boss. I was so excited when I got my email from Pedal Genie saying this was on its way! Within a few minutes of this pedal, I was loving what I was hearing. Even the factory presets sound great. It is an expensive pedal but really each mode is essentially it's own delays pedal with unique characteristics. The knobs act differently according to which delay you are using. If you are used to a simple delay pedal you can use this as such and just use the knobs, or you dive deeper into the parameters. I love that I can add modulation to any of the delays. The Ice mode is does one of the best shimmers I have heard. For a more haunting sound, use the Ice mode and go an octave down instead of up. The looper is very good but a little bit of a pain to access unless you get the multiswitch. The biggest thing with this pedal is that it's inspiring. I've had it just for a few days and put together 3 or 4 ideas for new songs.
