I highly recommend this product. Practicing has never been so much fun. It is simple, clean and easy to use. I push the pedal, lay down a few cords (up to 3 minutes) then double click and I can replay it as a continuios loop. You can continue to put down layer after layer... Play it back and play along with yourself.. It sounds like you are playing with a band...work on differnt keys, different scales and riffs. It is also great for song writing.... keep trying out different licks, keep them or drop them, your choice. Well worth the cost!

With the rc-3 out, the rc-2 has become more affordable, making it an even greater value! Amazing looper pedal, with good quantization abilities, more recording time than one person needs, and a super easy to understand interface. This is a great investment for beginners to masters, who want looping capabilities at their feet. Works great for looks on the fly, or recording backing tracks you can perform with. Solid Boss construction, per usual. Would definitely recommend.

I had been wanting a looper for a long time. I was afraid that I may get tired of it though, because of the monotony of the same phrase playing over and over. I could not have been more wrong. I think this is the best learning tool there is. You can layer over a basic rythem with a few stabs here and there, then layer over that again and the playback just becomes the coolest groove! There is no monotony factor. I had to read the instructions a couple of times to understand how to operate it correctly, but then I was off and running. I wish I would have bought one 10 years ago. And I'm still only using one of the many drum patterns. It's great!
I use looper while performing live, but I do not save anything on it. What ever I do I do it live, and when that song is over I clear it. This is why I don't need an RC-3 or more. I chose the RC-2 because it was a better sounding piece than the RC-1.

From time to time I need to replicate a recording where more than one guitar track is playing or where a switch from one sound to another is so dramatic as to be problematic for one guy. The RC-2 is my hired gun. I simply program into memory the part I need played and hit the pedal when I need the loop to start and stop. If you are new to working with Loopers, these are a great way to get baptized. Boss packs alot into these boxes but not so much that a reasonably intelligent person cannot make good use of it all. Mine was new for $90 US. I think this is a good value for the technology offered. The only thing stopping me from giving this a five star rating is that there is no way to factory reset this device if something like a digital massacre happens. Boss offers no way to easily repair it and I have seen a number of these show up for sale in non-working condition. This isn't worn out footswtiches, bad tubes or loose inputs we're talking about here, this is digital electronics and diagnosing is not usually a simple matter. Repair will run 90-125 US if you are out of warranty. This leads me to my closing point. Even though Boss is smart about putting this circuitry inside a metal box to protect everything, some players are still in the wah-wah phase of life where the feel you can treat your footswitches the same way you would treat a cock roach. I think if you treat this with some respect and care it should go the usual distance most BOSS products go.... a good long while.
The looper pedal has revolutionized songwriting as well as bedroom guitar practicing. Now rather than playing along with Jam tracks on the internet or just a metronome you can now play with yourself. You record the rythym guitar and add the drum track so you can practice your solos. It is a lot of fun.
I lost my adapter for my Boss looper pedal and bought this to replace it. It works perfectly and I have not had any issues with it. I treat all my equipment pretty gentle but the cord on it looks like it could take some ruff housing.
