I have used this brand of Set and Serve Rice Cooker for many years. They are reliable and efficient and the only slight criticism is that the non stick coating starts to wear after a few years. The set itiself seems to be more or less everlasting. A speedy and efficient appliance which is also useful for reheating food and steaming vegetables at the same time s cooking rice. Multi purpose in effect.

Disappointed with the quality of the products materials, which has reduced compared to my last breville rice cooker, which I was replacing due to the coating wearing off. I can already see small spots where the coating is wearing off around where the lid sits and it’s only been a month or 2 since I purchased it. Hopefully the inside coating will last longer - and yes I only use the plastic spoon that comes with it. Wished I could have just purchased a replacement bowl for my old breville rice cooker. Would love for there to be a stainless steel or hard anodized bowl that the coating does not wear off. Cooks rice beautifully, however does spit water and bubble out over edges of lid making a mess when cooking more than 2 measuring cups of rice. This has a non-stick bowl. One must be extremely careful not to scratch the surface because a replacement bowl costs 3/5 th of the complete unit, and a stainless steel bowl is not available at a reasonable price.This would provide many happy years of service, if it werent for the non-stick surface.I would suggest that a purchaser of any non-stick product, research the chemical leaching effect on the human body. Just saying..

Easy to use, reasonable price and good capacity. Good price though there 'big deal' doesnt say how much you save. Turns out it was $20 cheaper not really a big deal. Reliable brand. And so far I have bought all my electronics from Harvey Norman as they are known to have good service and aftecare. Easy and efficent online shopping experience. Click and collect not recommended. Took over 20mins which is slower than me buying it off the shelf. Plus I let them know I was coming when I left home.
I am very happy with this rice cooker. Cooks perfectly. We use it four times a week. I was worried about the splitting water when boiling, but it works clean. One hint to have nice and fluffy rice(Jasmin rice): add two third extra cups of water to the ratio. e.g. 3 cups rice need 3 + 2/3 cups of water. I have just doubt about the capacity. The maximum number of cups I cooked is four; however, I am not sure what happens (in terms of result and cleanliness) when seven cups of rice cook in there.
Loving my new rice cooker. I've been rinsing my jasmine rice very well (until water in bowl is clear, usually 3 times) before adding to rice cooker, add a little more water than equal amounts for fluffier result. No sticking or overcooking and I turn off the cooker when it flicks to warm and remove bowl from the cooker keeping the lid on. Have steamed veges at same time as cooking rice and steamed fresh dumplings in it today.
I highly recommend this rice cooker to anyone who loves rice or wants to make meal preparation more convenient. It is easy to use, versatile, and consistently cooks perfect rice every time. Cleaning this rice cooker is a breeze as well. The non-stick interior allows for easy cleaning, and the exterior can be wiped clean with a damp cloth.
The Breville rice cooker is an excellent kitchen appliance that offers effortless operation. Simply set it up, and it takes care of the rest. Additionally, it has an automatic keep-warm function that activates once the cooking cycle is complete. I find washing the rice behand makes a huge different in the end result. Cook in stock broth or add stock powder for flavour.
Unfortunately for me, I will not use a product where the Non Stick coating is chipped. I have had to replace the bowl due to wear and tear and evidence of chipping came after about 2 years of 3 x week usage.The heating and cooking outer case was perfect and working wellI have asked Breville for a Stainless Steel bowl, but they're unavailable. To replace the inner bowl plus postage was a little short of a new price for the device - hence I replaced the entire unit.What a waste of a resource and an added bit of junk for the land fill.
Perfectly cooked brown rice, easy to clean and not bulky to store. So much better than gas stovetop, watching for the boil, setting timer, cleaning up leaks from the lid. Not only can I switch and forget, but I'm reducing emissions, as I use green electricity.
