I’m usually a Glycerin fan and lately a Glycerin StealthFit fan. I got these on the suggestion of the Brooks rep from my local running store. And, I wanted desperately to love them. They are incredibly lightweight and initially felt really good. My favorite thing about them is the longer toolbox, which saved my toes and toenails from constant pounding and pain. However, for some reason, these have caused me significant pain in other ways. After just a few runs, I started developing shin splints. I now have a shin injury, just weeks away from my 4th marathon, which is devastating. My feet also throb after just a few miles in these, so much so that it’s almost impossible to walk after particularly long runs. I’ve never experienced this kind of pain from shoes before. ... MoreI’m usually a Glycerin fan and lately a Glycerin StealthFit fan. There were even some times when if I landed on my foot just a little awkwardly with these or stepped on a little pebble, it sent searing pain all the way from my foot up my ankle and I’m now concerned I’ve given myself a stress fracture. These are beautiful shoes and clearly have a place in the Brooks lineup for some folks. They simply didn’t work for me. At this price point, I am very sad. In my haste to be excited about these, I also bought a pair of the Tempos so that’s a ton of money down the drain. It also seems like I might have ruined my marathon by switching to these in my training cycle, but that’s my fault.

These are colors I can get behind! So fun! I wanted to love the new soles as well. To the thumb they feel softer than the old Launch shoes I've bought, but while running, I didn't feel that. The ride is very firm which I suppose adds to the responsiveness. I have not noticed a difference in joint fatigue as I have used these which I was hopeful for. I was also a little disappointed in the toe box. I ordered up a half size and my pinkie toes still push on the sides of the shoe. These are narrower up front than the other Brooks I have tried. And I have concerns about the long term stability of the exterior shoe foam because it seems soft. Overall I love the shoe. Just know you'll probably want to get a larger size than normal unless you have narrow feet. Because of ... MoreThese are colors I can get behind! So fun! I wanted to love the new soles as well. Also, it appears as though this model may not hold up as well as others under country running conditions.

I've ran in the Brooks Adrenalines for 6+ years. I'm on my 10th pair and they are awesome supportive shoes for me. I LOVE them, and it's hard to wear something different. My goals have gotten bigger, and I was in search of a lighter speed shoe to train fast and race in — to compliment my Adrenalines. I tried on every potential pair, and I was happiest with the Hyperion Max shoes. I've done a few speed workouts in them, and they are great! So much lighter and I love the cushion. The sole is really helpful for hitting more on the forefoot and not heel striking to be faster. For someone else who is accustomed to the Brooks Adrenaline GTS, the Hyperion GTS may be a good addition with the GTS support. I tried them and liked them too, but these felt best and fastest to me!

Seriously LIGHT and speedy shoes! They feel responsive and somewhat firm — in a good way — without being hard. They really shine when picking up the pace and make you feel like you’re flying. I’m used to running with a high-stack height composite-plated shoe with airpods in the forefoot. I didn’t expect the Hyperion Max to compare, but they make me want to go fast! I I cut some serious time off my 1/2-mile intervals the first time I ran in them. My body felt great afterward, too. I’ve only put 4 miles on them, so I’m not sure how they will feel on long runs yet. I will have to be disciplined and not run too fast in them if I have a slow run on my schedule. If you have wide feet, you might want to size up or try the men’s version. I will have to be disciplined and not run too fast in them if I have a slow run on my schedule. If you have wide feet, you might want to size up or try the men’s version. The toe box is a little snug on my right pinky toe (I do NOT have wide feet), but the upper is stretchy enough to where it didn’t bother me during my run. I’ll try thinner socks on my next run, and I’ll size up if it bothers me on longer runs.A small nitpick: I liked the quality but not the yellow color of the laces on the white shoes with pink/black/white soles. I replaced them with pink laces to match.
I bought 2 pairs of these, 1 for work and 1 for exercising. My workouts have a lot of lateral motions and I do not like these for that. The cushioning is lacking at the toe and sides of the feet. My feet move too much and are hurting after wearing them for exercise. The heel however has amazing cushioning. I am returning the pair I bought for exercise, and still trialing the pair I got for work. They seem to be better for forward motions like walking and running. Still could have better cushioning at the toe and sides. This is my first pair of Brooks that I’ve been disappointed with and I’m on like pair 15.
Out of the box this shoe is so light I didn't think it would give me the support I needed. I was proven wrong. The shoe is lightweight yet magically provides all the support I need. The foot support is strong and firm and the shoe is springy - it seems to give me a little bit of propulsion during takeoff. I love it. Were it not for the sale price I would not have tried the shoe so I am thankful I found it during a temporary markdown. I have 3 other pairs of Brooks shoes for walking/running and I love them all. But this one motivates me to try a little harder, and to go a little further. The Hyperion Max is the Tinkerbell on my toes that keeps my run going. Thank you Brooks for getting this old lady to run when I didn't think I had it in me! Love, Cheryl
I bought the white pair with yellow highlights during the summer sales while thinking of training myself to run better. This is my second pair of Brooks. Another pair of my Brooks is Ghost 14. I wasn't entirely sure at purchase as Hyperion Max is much less popular than Ghost 14. But I went for it after reading the descriptions and asking the online support. The shipping came on time. The shoes look and feel great and are super light. The material is high quality as I went for runs regularly for 3-4 weeks now and the pair still looks new and strong. I love both of my pairs! Thank you, Brooks, for helping me on the journey of reaching life goals in a safe and stylish way!
Max is light and bouncy. I like it very much. I wear the trail running model Cascadia standard width 6.5 size, so I ordered the same for Max. Despite I love the feeling of Max, the width seems to be a bit narrow for my feet in the toebox area. I do have a wider front feet. The customer service was very helpful when I called to ask for advices. She (sorry that I forgot her name) pointed out that the material of Max is different from others. While I felt great in Max after a 10-mile test run without any need to break in, my feet did feel squished toward the end of the run.I had to return the Max but I would definitely give Max another try if it has a wider width option.
I adore how light and bouncy these shoes feel- even running in hot, humid summer temps, they truly keep a pep in my step. My legs never feel heavy and I look forward to putting them on! The fit is perfect. However, they are terrible if raining. The insole slips around a dangerous amount once wet and now they are bent/warped (see picture) after just one 7 mile run in the rain. The shoe laces also become untied very quickly if wet (even from sweat) so they must be double knotted. The sole is showing wear after just 1.5 months of use. That is my major upset with this awesome shoe. I want to wear them to train for and run my 1st marathon (NYC baby!) but worry how they will hold up (and will I need to buy a new pair every 2 months because of deteriorating? If they were better in the rain without the insole moving/getting ruined and more durable without showing significant wear after just a month, I would give them 5 stars, easy.
This has been one of my "go to" shoes for marathon training. It is very responsive during speed work and long distance runs. This is my second pair of them- my first pair has almost 500 miles clocked on them. It gives just the right amount of cushion and support for what my feet need. I was born with very little arch, so I grew up wearing orthotics to help my feet grow properly. This kind of support/stability is exactly what I need. It's not as cushioned as the Ghost, but is just enough to be comfortable during lots of training miles. It is also VERY light weight, which helps a great deal. Highly recommended!
