Everyone rips on Ghosts being a terrible game. I find it pretty enjoyable even if the TTK is a little fast. I normally claim to be an MW2 guy, but after playing Ghosts, even MW2 hit detection seems a little off, so good job on that. There are a handful of good multiplayer maps and of course the bad ones everyone votes against.People have complained about the maps being too big. I don't really see this being an issue. Sounds like a lot of people don't know how to move across a map without running directly through the middle of open areas. Depending what gamemode you play, spawns are meh. If you have a team that knows what they're doing, you can spawn people where you want - which is how it's supposed to be. i honestly dont understand why there is so much hate for this game. It was one of the greatest call of duty games i have ever played. The new multiplayer is great, there are alot of huge maps which is a little irritating when your trying to do free for all, but great for search and destroy. I'm so glad they finaly put bots in call of duty by infinity ward, not trearch (I was never a fan of any of the black ops.) The bots do act more like humans, they camp, drop shot and use throwing knives. But there have been times they have been annoying, for example i will be running past cardboard boxes, and a bot will instantly turn and snipe me throgh the boxes. Like the other reviews said you do die quite easily. But wheres the real challage if you dont? Its a great game but ... Morei honestly dont understand why there is so much hate for this game. But everyone has a different skill level. The whole squads thing i cant really do beacuse im not connected to Xbox live(another reason im greatful for the bots) The weapons in multiplayer all stink except the sub's and snipers but its still fun.Theres only pistols and rocket launchers as you secondarys which is disapointing to me, i almost always used machine pistols but oh well. Now the story isnt that great. I think it was more of a let down to me beacuse im one of those people who looks up everything i can about the game before i get it. So i was kind of let down when the said an award winning writer was doing the story for ghosts, but it wasn't as.

I've played through it several times now. Such an awesome game, so detailed. Some thoughts on it.- I liked the custom loadout going into each level in BO2, and Ghosts doesn't have a custom loadout at all, you just go in with a standard loadout each level. I like of like not having to think about the loadout, it's just different.- The game seems short. It still takes a while to get through the whole game, but it just 'seems' shorter. I can get through Ghosts in a couple of nights (normal playing, I'm not an all-nighter) where it may have taken me a few nights to get through BO2 and previous CODs. Par for the course, I would say.I wasn't enthralled with the campaign mode, but then I never am; it's always so clear in call of duty where the "triggers" are in a level. You can sit in one place all day and fire rounds to your heart's content, but the enemy will keep respawning until you move up 5 feet behind that other jeep. It ends up feeling like a really cheap experience that encourages you to just run and gun. It is what it is, I guess.Multiplayer is obviously the biggest draw for this one. Although there are many more options and perks, I find it less enjoyable than the past versions. It's far too easy for someone to kill you--you seem to take about half the damage as in previous games, which makes for very quick turnover and some rapid score upsets. I could easily get 8-10 kill streaks in MW3, but in this game, you're lucky if you get 5 unless the matchmaking happened to be really unbalanced.
This is coming from the perspective of someone who has not bought any of the previous COD games until this one. I know other reviewers who are experienced COD players have criticized the game for various reasons such as familiarity between concepts used in previous games. Whether they are right or wrong, I do not know, but I will say for the first time COD player, this game is a great experience! I played the single player campaign mode under the easiest setting since it was my first time. I can say for the most part that I really enjoyed the campaign experience. The story flows like an actual movie. at times it almost feels like you are actually in the game, and some of the levels are suspenseful and challenging, which is what I enjoy about it. I enjoy the various environments that you travel through during the campaign. The audio is great, and the visuals are pretty good too. All around a good experience!
I normally just review the games I play. This was bought for our son. I know it's a mature rated game and he's only 10, but he understands the differences in real-life and video games. That's also why I'm reviewing this a 4 star. I have tried it a few times with him and his friends and personally don't like the game at all. However, him and his friends play it online and they love the online multiplayer part. I've yet to evolve to multiplayer online games. He did play the one player part and said it was okay. So if you're like me and are under a rock when it comes to multiplayer games you can take my advice on this one. It's an average at best one player game and an above-average multiplayer game. For what it's worth I do like the Black Ops versions of this game series.
Ghosts takes the Call of Duty series in a slightly different direction, the gampeplay remains the same but this storyline is very different from what veterans of the series will be used to. I have most of the Call of Duty console games and I much prefer the single player or co-op elements of these games to the online, speaking of which Ghosts has two disc and the first is the main game disc (the one you us to play the game) disc two has in fact to be installed to play the single player campaign. This shows how the series has evolved to support multiplayer over single player, that being said though the game still has a good single player campaign with an interesting story that takes you to an earth where things have not gone the way they were supposed toGhosts is ... MoreGhosts takes the Call of Duty series in a slightly different direction, the gampeplay remains the same but this storyline is very different from what veterans of the series will be used to. You generally play as Logan who is one of two sons to a man named Elias, he tells a story of a division of highly trained men sent to deal with an outnumbering threat and many of them fall but a few remained after the first assault. Those men waited under the bodies of the dead with their fallen comrades blood running over them, when the next battle came the fifteen men killed all ninety of the remaining enemy and became known as ghosts (as they were forever changed because of the events of that battle and considered fearless). They boys wonder if that is a true story or just a tale but by the end of the game both they and you will know the answer to that, aside from the storyline the game centres on a battle between the "Federation of The Americas" and the "United States" after a super weapon was hijacked and used against the latter by the former. Now the Federation outnumber the U.S. forces and bloody stalemate has been going on for the last ten years as the U.S. forces hold what is left of their cities. All this is about to change though as Elias says he is tired of being on the defensive, he sends Logan (you and his other son David (known as Hesh) into no mans land (an unpredictable wasteland as a result of the initial battle ten years earlier) their job is to gather intel on the enemy but they find out more than they expected to. Although the game centres on Logan's perspective and the majority of the game you play as him there are several other characters you will also play as for short stints.GameplayWhen the shooting starts your first fight is actually starts out in space, thus bringing in the first new gameplay element to be found here - Zero Gravity shooting. The control here is not an issue though as physics is not a factor [they like to keep it simple], this means that you can float around shooting but the recoil of the gun won't push you back. They get away with this as you are in a spacesuit and have the RCS thruster pack on to keep you stable, you of course only have to aim your weapon and shoot the bad guys in typical Call of Duty style there is nothing else to concern yourself about. The next new element is underwater combat, in MW3 (Modern Warfare three) there was an underwater mission but the one in Ghosts is much more intense, there are a number of bad guys and as you are told three shots are generally required to take out a bad guy as bullets don't work so well underwater.Beyond that it is pretty much business as usual (as in enjoying simple gameplay thanks to Call of Duty's tried and tested user friendly control method). Aside from running around shooting you also get to drive and shoot from a tank, mounted guns and another powerful item that I will say nothing about as that would be a spoiler. There are a few press the button when indicated sequence (they are annoying but luckily there are only a few). Plus whenever a specific button needs to be pressed you are told and when you have to interact with something it is always highlighted to make it easier to locate. As with many of the more modern Call of Duty games there is an extensive multiplayer option in Ghosts, now as usual there is lots of extra content that can be downloaded (a good way for the developers to rake in extra profits by fleecing customers with downloadable content when it could just as easily have been placed on disc) but it is optional, the last game I did this on was black ops and it was a bad choice as I hardly used it.Ghosts is a great game that does manage to live up to the franchise in delivering the typical thrills a Call of Duty game can, but I would have been disappointed if I had paid the retail price back when this title was first released, the campaign was fairly easy for me even on veteran. But I have to say for the measly £3 I paid recently I am very happy with the purchase. In recommending it, I would say totally yes because the game is dirt cheap now and well worth a few pounds that it costs these days.
Despite all the haters, this was a great CoD game. The multiplayer was the best it has ever been, and the campaign was quite nice as well, though a bit short. Definitely worth the $13 (last time I checked) buy on retrolio, as people still play MW2, 3, and even the original MW, you can probably expect to be able to play the Ghosts multiplayer for a long time still. There is also an extremely fun "Extinction" mode (essentially zombies with aliens and an objective, however it plays much better in my opinion and is much more fun), but they only included 1 map with the base game. That was quite a rip off. The other maps were included with the "map pack" DLCs, likely as a way to force you to buy them for that content, knowing that many of us hate map pack DLC and do not ... MoreDespite all the haters, this was a great CoD game. I refused to purchase the $50 season pass ($60 buying all 4 separate) until it was on sale for $25.When you look at it objectively, I think people are just nostalgic about the older games. When I think back on them, CoD 4 was always my favorite, but objectively, the games have been progressively getting better.
Both discs are covered in scratches. I can't test to see if they work as I'm moving and my consoles are all packed away. The box has a dent in the front. I discard these anyway as all of my physical games are filed in special pouches and folders. The game did not arrive factory sealed. They'd be no point anyway as the item was not remotely like new. The listing is totally misleading. Can't return due to mobility issues. The fact I was charged additional postage made this even worse.
I bought this game last month and is was the best purchase i have ever made!! I was looking for this for ages and saw it was on CEX for a very good price and i got it online. The price was cheap but totally worth and shipping was also very cheap but it came within 3 days, I thought i was getting scammed it was that fast. When it arrived the packaging was so well wrapped and it had no scratches or marks on it. When I decided to download it took only around 1 hour to download unlike any of the newer call of duty games. The game itself was so well made, the scenes were very vibrant and the graphics were so good especially on a playstation4. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who is interested in starting call of duty.
