A lot of people are complaining about the download size and the xbox live requirement. Let's get something straight. EVERY triple A game has a HUGE download file these days (because we complained so much about load times in the past), so this game is not unique in that capacity. Second, if you are trying to play Call of Duty without an Xbox live connection, you are a fool. Who is spending $60 for a few hours of campaign? Those two things aren't valid complaints in my eyes.Moving on from that: Is the game perfect? No, not at all. I feel like everyone's expectations were a little too high for this game. The online play is a lot of fun, and really brings me back to the original modern warfare days. Are there some balance issues? It's a good bit of nostalgia, and a solid FPS. Would recommend!

This is the best COD since the old MW series. Everyone complaining is probably just trash at the game.Yes it requires a lot of downloads. Theres a lot of content. You give it a bad rating for that? Grow up.The gunplay is awesome. 10yr olds are just crying because they cant spam fire their desert eagles anymore. This is REALISTIC gunplay. Everything you do effects how your weapon performs. The slowmo kill cams show just how much attention to detail they put into recoil.Only thing thats really annoying right now is the 725 shotgun is wayyyy overpowered. They need to nerf that thing asap.Hoping they release more guns/maps soon.Another annoying thing is on retrolio. I preordered this 2 months in advance and they still lost my game on release day. And honestly have been a COD hater. Big time. Hardcore player of battlefield after black ops one. But always played the others, but none sucked me in like they used too. I was curious when this was announced, but they bundled it with infinite warfare and after renting that, I forgot all about it. It has that feeling of old call of duty, mixed with the new. I was skeptical of that first , but after playing you realize that cod4 is very dated and if they were just to remake the original with new graphics, this would get boring quick. Yeah it would have a small loyal fan base, but they additions of weapons and supply drops make it so much better. Plus this has the best supply drop system yet(Looking at you Black ops 3, you get a big middle finger) After only having it for 4 days I have already gotten a new weapon, the people at raven soft have created some of the most amazing weapon kits and skins, I am blown away. Nothing in previous Cods has made want to play to really get them, its kinda been like a "huh thats kinda cool.&#.

First, I'll say that I never played CoD 4 when it came out (I started playing CoD with World at War). I bought this mostly as a curiosity to see if Modern Warfare was as good as people claimed. I liked that it was a standalone (I had and still have no interest in buying Infinite Warfare). As for the game. I like it, but don't love it. Remember that I have zero sense of nostalgia for this game, so I feel my opinion is a bit more objective than those looking through rose-colored, nostalgia-filled glasses. The multiplayer is pretty good, but nothing really new (it is a remaster of a decade-old game, after all). The guns are fine, the maps are good, and there's no stupid jetpacking around. Got this game on a rental and I already owned the original PC version. After not returning it for nearly a month I purchased the game for 40 bucks thru prime and it was worth it. It looks great, it plays great, the campaign is really fun especially the chapter "Death From Above" where you get an AC-130 gunship to provide close air support for the SAS troops. Like any good game its the frustration that keeps you playing over and over and over again. After owning Black Ops 3 I find the multiplayer far superior and a lot more fun than black ops 3. The maps are superior, funner and you're not limited to just "specialists". I don't understand the low reviews at all. I like the play control with the ps4 controller to a mouse and keyboard. The "velcro" grenades that even if you move away from them still kill you, even if you're out of line of sight in a building the AI can still manage to throw a grenade exactly where you are killing you. In a multiplayer map versus bots silencers and the not appearing on radar perk do absolutely no good they still know precisely where you are even thru cover and not visible. They are notorious after a kill comi.

The massive GB download is not a problem if you have external storage (Two terabyte hard drives are cheap and easy to use, so don’t buy into the “It’s too large†complaint. Do some research before you purchase). The game is a wonderful and detailed shooter that brings me back to its amazing roots in COD4 and, where a young me started, MW2.-Campaign is a very enjoyable experience (Price is freaking awesome), although some character and story elements could be fleshed out a bit more. The most egregious con I have for it is the rewriting of history with the Highway of Death and putting blame on Russia when U.S. forces were the ones to gun down civilian vehicles in the incident. I get there is a pandemic going on at the time of writing this, but for God’s sake just take away the option if you’re stalled. I’d rather you guys were honest instead of making me pay more to have it shipped quicker when.

I've always have been a fan of the Modern Warfare series of Call of Duty. I still play the older versions of Modern Warfare and enjoy doing so. What I like about the online game is that even though I'm older, I can still be pretty competitive in the game when playing against the young gamers. I've played the campaign for a little while and find that it is good, although the violence etc is too much. You can turn the violence and language down in the settings, which is good. I just don't see a need for over the top violence when we already live in an increasingly violent world. For anyone who enjoyed the older series with more simple playing and controls, give this version of Modern Warfare a try. It is a game I can see myself playing for a while and enjoying it as well. Might be worth waiting for price drop or finding the game used, but otherwise it is a worth while investment.

Feelings about Modern Warfare are understandably mixed. The campaign, though breathtakingly realistic, overplays how edgy it is while neglecting to say anything meaningful. The multiplayer adds more content and customization than ever before, but is plagued by questionable level design and poor matchmaking. And the Spec Ops mode is, well, indiscriminately terrible. These flaws aside, Modern Warfare is a faithful reboot of the sub-series. The audiovisual quality of this game sets the industry standard—and its gunplay is the most satisfying I've ever seen. And the infinite hatefare needs to stop. They have easily given us the most content rich and consumer friendly CoD of this console generation. There's simply no reason to pounce on them without apology for every design flaw. News flash: All games have them. Modern Warfare—a solid shooter with problems like all other games—is an irrefutable counterargument to #InTreyarchWeTrust. If you care about this franchise, support this game. It's a leap in the right direction.

Arguably the best game of the COD series. Now only better, if you fancy online play and story mode. Otherwise take a pass. I hadn't gamed in several years but when I heard about this I was drawn back in like a month to the flame. Graphics, holy smokes, seriously, it looks amazing and if you don't have a sweet quality HDTV or better then you're missing out. However if your interested in alternate game modes and all the various other features, take a pass. They aren't here on the side version. Maybe the dl version has them, I can't say but the disc version has 3 modes, story mode, online multiplayer and offline multiplayer which is straight up you and a friend going haed to head shooting beside 1 another on the same console via split screen. I have not had any major performance issues either... a few stutters here and there but nothing game-breaking. One thing that was immediately evident is all of the work that has been done on the audio front. Guns and Explosions will absolutely rattle your brain bucket if you have surround sound or nice headphones. The sound is much improved over other CoD games and is really incredible to hear.Gameplay:This is pretty much unchanged from other Call of Duty games. The control scheme is the same, although there are some improvements like being able to mount your weapon on walls and ledges for better cover/accuracy.
