I got this set on sale and it still wasn't worth the price. The sauce pans are okay, but you basically just use those to boil water and sauces. I just used one of the sauté pans following the instructions included with the set - "preheat the pan using the heat setting you'll use for cooking and then add the oil or butter" - the oil burned as soon as it hit the pan. The pan is RUINED. I tried the recommended Bar Keepers Friend cleaning supplies and it didn't do much of anything. All I could do was throw the pan away. I gave this set 2 stars for the sauce pans only, otherwise I wouldn't waste my money.

I can always count on Calphalon for a quality product. I needed to replace the Calphalon 3-quart sauté pan I had for probably ten years for one appropriate for an induction range. I hated giving the old one up. It had served me well and still looked great. I am just as happy so far with the new induction compatible pan and am sure it too will last.

The lid doesn’t have a hole in it so it bubbles up and gets liquid all over the top. You have to move the lid slightly to the side in order to let the steam out. Also these pans have a tendency to stain bad like stuff sticks and caramelizes. Honestly very disappointed for the price and supposed quality of the brand.

From first glance, this Calphalon pan has a lot to offer, whether you've been cooking for years or are a novice beginner. Upon arrival, the pan was packaged well inside the box with no issues. The tempered lid comes sealed onto the pan so as to be ready for the first use. What I absolutely love about this pan is that it does not take much to heat up the pan. I cooked my grilled cheese and almost instantaneously after heating up the pan, the pan was hot enough to melt the cheese without having to wait. During the cooking process, the food cooks evenly and when you are holding the handle, there is no worry of getting burned. This pan is structurally built for any baker who wants to grill chicken, meat, or cook vegetables more seamlessly with five layers of metal ... MoreFrom first glance, this Calphalon pan has a lot to offer, whether you've been cooking for years or are a novice beginner. This pan is structurally built for any baker who wants to grill chicken, meat, or cook vegetables more seamlessly with five layers of metal woven into the pan. The lid is see through to keep a closer eye on what you are cooking. What's important is that the pan is not heavy to lift when picking it up.This pan also has a 10 year warranty and it is dishwasher safe. I have put my Calphalon in the dishwasher but it best to use a very safe cleaner that won't scratch the surface. However, I have bought a powder that cleans my Calphalon pan and keeps the stainless steel feature bright and immaculate. This is my third (of many Calphalon pans I look forward to owning) and I cannot speak highly enough of this brand. This brand designs and cooks up several products to not only add a stylish flair to your kitchen but also to create a seamless process for those passionate about cooking. There are so many different ones to choose from whether kitchen gadgets, stainless steel or hard anodized. I do have to say that two of my pans from Calphalon, including this Saute pan and there is so much promise and potential to be excited for. This pan assists me in creating several types of meals, whether as simple as grilled cheese or cooking large family dinners. While I received this product for free, the opinions and thoughts included in this review are my own. **
I bought this set online after returning the non-stick Calphalon to the store. I've always used stainless so am much happier with the Classic Calphalon. One thing I have noted is that the pans are a little more lightweight than I expected but they do perform well. Preheating the pan helps. I also seasoned the pans even though Calphalon doe not mention doing this to the stainless. As a result, my stainless perform very well with little or no sticking. For the price ? Great deal.
This SS pan is perfect. I prefer straight up sides (no slant). It has 10 (ten) inches of surface. You might think it was larger, I did. But it's ten inches. Certainly enough for a few slices of french toast or pieces of chicken, etc.Extremely good value when combined with free shipping and 20% coupon1
This was a gift nearly 15 years ago. I will never part with this set for as long as I live. With that being said, my sauté pan is starting to warp a little on the bottom. After 15 years, and nearly daily use, I’d say that’s pretty good! I will be buying a new one soon, but will never stray from Calphalon!
I'm trying to figure out how to return this pan. I like the design very much: straight sides, heavy bottom, glass lid; however, when I first washed and dried the pan, there were rusty little pits in the bottom of it. Very disappointing.
It's a quality pan constructed with quality Steele and offers quality in durability. But whatever you throw in there to cook it sticks to the button of the pan, although you put sufficient amount of oil. That's because the surface interiors as well as exteriors are all Steele and not coated with Teflon. In a way I prefer pure stainless Steele for health reasons so that it doesn't have Teflon to peal off and deposit the particles of Teflon into your food. A little extra work for you to stick around the pan to watch it, stirr it, and mix it to prevent the food from sticking to the bottom of the pan, will contribute to your health in a long run.
I bought this in March and stopped using it in May because any food i cook could stick on the pan. I bought it because I had one calphalon skillet i really like. But I am really disappointed and regret buying this. I started using again this month but it only gets worse. It's very hard to clean as well and the stain stays.
