Easy to unpack and set up. Instructions manual easy to follow. Once set up, printer is reasonably fast for an inkjet printer. I don’t have a need to print large documents so this printer is just right for us. Colours and printouts are pristine. Only a couple of weeks of using it, but very happy with the printer so far. Very competitive pricing at Inkstation, price was much cheaper than the larger competitors. Thank you

A good multifunction printer for the price

The TR8660 multifunction printer was easy to set up and functions well as a network printer. The build feels a bit flimsy compared to the Canon IP4200 printer it replaced, but the IP4200 lasted for over 10 years and I'm hoping, with light domestic use, the TR8660 will last a similar period. The set up process is run entirely from the printer's console and checked if it had the latest firmware during set up. Once installed, it is simple to use and provides photo and document print functions and confusingly, a subset of the maintenance functions available in the "IJ Printer Assistant Tool".

Disappointed after prior good Canon printer

I purchased this printer to replace my Canon MX870 which had given years of good service with no problems. Compared to the MX870, the TR8660 has the following issues:1. A flimsy receptacle for receiving the output. The paper occasionally falls off and as it sticks out of the printer, I am sure it will eventually break.2. The paper feeder has very small capacity3. No facility to enlarge when photocopying4. The printer automatically turns off after a period of non-use. Annoying when using a computer that is not in the same room as the printer.5. Very expensive on inkI purchased the printer based on a review in Choice

Excellent Home Printer
16 January 2022

Have had this printer over 12 months. I found it easy to set up (pretty much does it all itself). Integrates well across 4 PCs/laptops, a couple of tabs and a mobile phones...even for visitors. Am about to go buy another for my daughter. Only drawback (but only a minor one) is that the front control panel has to be in the open position to operate and if I forget to extend the "paper catcher" my A4 prints go straight to floor.

Load of rubbish
20 April 2022

My Canon MG3500 series printer finally died after giving me years of trouble free use. I purchased this printer in January 2022 and after a day had to take it bake because the lower tray would not feed single sheets. It continuously feeding numerous sheets at a time causing it to jam. It was replaced with another one. The lower tray still would not feed single sheets but because it had a rear feed that worked fine I persisted with it. Last week I scanned documents with no trouble and this week all I could get was that the scanner could not connect to the laptop. Telephoned the techs and after 90 minuets the tech finally admitted that he didn't know what was wrong and would call me back in 1/2 to 1 hours after having talked to his collegues. 26 hours later I was ... MoreMy Canon MG3500 series printer finally died after giving me years of trouble free use. Its going back and I'll buy a different brand

Terrible Machine
14 February 2022

I mean it when I say I never write reviews, but this printer is so god awful that I had to. My husband is out getting a new one as we speak. This thing eats through ink, always gets paper jammed, and takes forever to print properly. I can’t even believe they are allowed to sell this piece of junk. I’m going back to HP. Please do yourself a favor and stay away from this headache! It has made my life a living hell.

The most annoying printer I ever got
17 June 2022

I bought this printer a few months ago.Just to get it running was a headache. It recognises only my husband’s PC and phone neither of mine.I attempted to print to email today and what a failure that was. I though due the the brand it was a good choice but no.We only needed it for basic printing, scanning.Just avoid the headache

Value pack?
15 August 2021

The printer is fine - however, the "Value Pack" focuses on the "2 full sets" of ink cartridges. In reality, one of these is the "starter set" that the normal printer comes with (which does not last anywhere near as long as normal cartridges) so you are only getting 1 additional set. Its a full set in the sense that is contains all of the required colours but not in the sense of a set with "normal" longevity. Its probably still worth buying this over the standard version but good to know what you're getting!

Works functionally well with a few aesthetic flaw
18 October 2021

Reasonable print speed and all around functionality. Setting up a bit fiddly first time as it need to be done via a web link instead on the printer itself. But once done, no need to repeat. Wish paper cassette hold more paper, found we keep having to add paper as it don’t hold much. The cassette also a bit hard to grab to pull out when there are paper on the output tray, and the plastic cover at the front of the paper cassette tray is annoying as it makes loading the paper not as straightforward as you may need to take it off, load the paper and pop it back on.I found it weird that the Front panel must be tilted up for it to operate, no automatic pop up so need to be done manually and looks unsightly in that position, wish canon have designed it more aesthetically ... MoreReasonable print speed and all around functionality. Eg a permanent surface or ability to run without having to tilt the front panel up.
