Works as it should, you don’t need to buy an entire headset system if you have the existing Cardo unit. These speakers don’t sound much different from the JBL’s, so save yourself the $30 extra, unless you’ve already decided for yourself you need the JBLs ( I could barely tell the difference).

Glad I decided to purchase this 2nd helmet kit. You don’t realize how useful it is until the morning when you decide in the last minute that you want to wear the other helmet. Maybe the more comfortable / road oriented helmet, instead of the more racing / aggressive helmet that you used the evening before the road trip, when you had a night ride with your friends.Or think about this way. You just came from a 1500km road trip in the mountains. It’s the morning of the track day. You just spend 1,5 seconds to relocate the cardo unit on the race helmet so you can talk with your track instructor. The feeling of replacing the union from one helmet to the other is priceless.Cardo really is the best in the world. For the most part, I like my Cardo system.. I’ve never used other comm systems so I don't have anything to compare this to, but here are my pros and cons.PROS• Audio quality is decent. I don’t have the upgraded JBL speakers but I am fine with the quality of the standard ones. I can have phone calls and nobody knows I’m on a bike talking through a helmet.• The noise reduction works well. My riding buddy has an open-faced helmet and his voice is perfectly clear.• Once you go through the agony of installing the first Cardo in a helmet it’s a lot easier to do a second — there are a lot of extra parts, velcros pads so it can be confusing at first.CONS• The range of the Cardo isn’t great. It seems to disconnect if you aren’t in direct line of sight with other ... MoreFor the most part, I like my Cardo system.. It seems to disconnect if you aren’t in direct line of sight with other riders or if you get a few hundred yards away from them which is very easily possible in traffic. This wouldn’t be a big deal — it is understandable that this happens, honestly, but the reconnection process is sometimes frustrating. Sometimes it reconnects without having to do anything. Sometimes not.• I know the Cardo has several functions that can be controlled via the helmet module, but I have a hard time remembering them all. Simply answering a phone call and hanging up is not very intuitive. Is it the front button? is it the back button? Does one answer and another hangs up? I find myself mashing a lot of buttons.

I have not bought a second helmet yet, but the unit I have on the helmet that I use is quite functional and user friendly. I really DIG having tunes cranked up loud in my helmet while I am riding. Music enhances the overall riding experience and
It's pretty simple. You get all of the same pieces that come when you buy the intercom to set up your helmet, just this kit doesn't include the intercom unit itself, and that's exactly what you need for a second helmet. Nothing is a lower-grade version of the same parts. It's the same parts.
I have several helmets and wanted to use the Freecom whenever I ride. Easy install. Has everything needed for a complete install. Only change I made was to install 45mm speakers. Stock speakers are good but can be a bit tinny sounding. Overall, a must have for multiple helmets.
The Speakers that come with the Cardo unit fit the Helmet speaker pockets perfectly. As with the Cardo Sprint unit I initially bought the Product Quality is First Rate.
one of my helmets had an original cardo solo rider, my other helmet has the freecom on it so made sense to replace the old solo with this backing plate , now it s an simple unclip unit and put into which ever helmet i choose to wear.
It works okay.Love that I can switch my cardo freedom 4x to a different helmet without worrying about setting up again.I should have went with the jbl speaker ones. You can really tell the difference as my original cardo system came with the JBL.
