Would give 5 stars if buttons didn't unbutton easily. Carhartt is for the on the go cold weather worker usually and these buttons don't keep out the cold the same as a zipper would (especially the click type these are thay easily open up with movement like when i bend down). Great material but without a sturdy Carhartt zipper, sadly not for me.

Best hoodie ever! Thid combination hoodie jacket with Rain Defender coating is everything you could want in a jacket. Tailored style, ample pockets and light-weight yet warm and cozy in the winter weather. Never thought I would find a jacket that I love so much. I have the grey color and plan to.purchase the maroon one to pair with blue jeans. Once again, Carhartt has made me a happy consumer!

Got one in the Basil Heather. It's way more substantial than I was expecting which shouldn't come as a surprise from Carhartt. It's got a a good loose fit where I can add a layer underneath if need be. Casual enough to run around in and nice enough to wear out. I've worn it with weather in the 50's and in the 20's and it keeps me comfortable either way. It can keep you dry from the rain and has a large hood. Fantastic jacket. Likely going to order a second in the Oiled Walnut.

I love the look and fit! It’s a really good looking jacket that you can wear in casual settings, but also looks good when dressed up. I docked one star because, although I know this isn’t a true “winter coat,” it still wasn’t quite as warm as I was expecting, which is what I’ve become accustomed to when buying carhartt cold/chilly weather gear. I think this may be more due to the fact that it doesn’t seem great at blocking wind, which as we all know, increases the chill factor. Overall it’s a good looking coat.
The navy color looks great. I would recommend ordering a size down. I'm 5'7 160 lbs and normally wear medium sized jackets. Should have bought the small as the medium is pretty loose and a bit long. Wore it on a 35 degree winter day when it was raining and it kept me dry and warm.
Great looking, top quality, warm shirt/coat -- but order down in size. I am 6' 1" and a relatively thin 200 lbs., and usually wear a standard men's large or even x-large if it's "fitted." Based on reviews, I ordered a medium of this coat, which to me fits exactly like a relaxed fit large. Even the sleeves are a good length. Feels rugged, warm enough for 30 deg. weather with just a long-sleeve shirt underneath, hood is roomy enough to go over a hat, and when I layer a shell over it (fits great under the large Storm Defender heavyweight jacket), it makes a good wind/water resistant winter coat. The snaps look nice, but a zipper would probably be more convenient. No big deal. All told, really pleased with the coat and my wife approves. Highly recommended.
Ordered this shirt jacket in two different colors (navy & red) in size Large and the red colored jacket fits SIGNIFICANTLY LARGER than the blue one. It fits like a XXL or even bigger. Absolutely ridiculous quality control on Carhartt's part and definitely NOT a good first impression of this brand as this was my VERY FIRST Carhartt clothing item I've ever owned/purchased. Will need to set up a return as a result.
Love the Rain Defender® Relaxed Fit Heavyweight Hooded Shirt Jac. Generally wear size medium. Tried the medium in the store and it was quite large. We had the small shipped and it is a great fit. I'll be able to comfortably wear another layer underneath when necessary. For now, it's a great look and fit and amazingly dry!
Really like this coat. The sizing is a little wonky though, particularly in the sleeves. I'm 6'5, 270, muscular build and the XL fit me pretty well, even over top of a Carhartt hoodie. The sleeves on the XL Tall were cartoonishly long. The jacket seems pretty warm and the I like the material of the outershell. I haven't worn it in rain yet so can't comment on how water resistant it is, but seems like it would be. Took one star off due to no interior pockets. Wish Carhartt would take Ariat's cue and start putting concealed carry pockets in their jackets/vests.
Took this jacket to the beach on a breezy day and the wind cuts right thru this jacket. Do not recommend this jacket for cold weather. It would suffice in a very light drizzle for a short amount of time before becoming soaked thru the jacket. Wil not be purchasing another piece of carhartt clothing because it's gone down hill. Overall I wish I hadn't bought this jacket cause it serves no real purpose.
