Casio G-Shock DW-5600BB-1 Black Digital Men's Watch

Setting up was pretty easy if you follow the manual though the pressing of the buttons can be a hassle (small buttons and pretty slick) and one of the buttons (my 'adjust' button) does depress quite a bit (picture 3). Since the band is made of fabric and black in colour, it stains pretty easily (picture 5) since I do apply sunscreen on my hand. If you don't I don't think it'll be a problem. Also the fabric pilled(?) a bit at the adjustment hole (picture 4) 🤷🏽‍♀️. But so far so good. The last picture is how the watch look on my hand (average wrist size for a woman).

Casio fits the purpose!

My main watch is the Casio Mudmaster which was purchased about 10 years ago. Its a large faces multi functional watch that I absolutely love. I needed a smaller watch with basic functionality to wear while I’m at work. So I decided to purchase the DW5600BB-1 model that has a lower profile. I purchased the blacked-out face and band for tactical reasons. So far, it meets my requirements and I am wearing it daily on my job. The only features I miss that my Mud Master has is the solar recharging and the ability to automatically adjust the time from atomic features. I recommend this watch. Casio makes great watches!

Definitely a G-Shock for the smaller wrist. Clean and utilitarian design. Comfortable to wear outdoors and in the office. Negative display which in my opinion is functional. Some users might prefer a traditional display module. Lovely electro luminescent green colour backlight which can also be programmed as flash alarm, in addition to the original sound alarm options. Mineral glass display. Apparently there is some fake "black out" Casio watches out there. Do your research before getting one. YT is great for that. Fake watches might have a thicker back plate with a different model and module number than 5600 + the print on the face of the watch is significantly brighter. Water resistant to 200M. A classic G for everyone. Highly recommended digital watch.

DW5600BCE-1

I like the watch and the band a lot but the buckle and strap keepers are a complete miss. This is suppose to be a durable, stealthy watch but it comes with a dinky steel buckle and strap keepers. I dropped the watch off my lap to the ground (2 feet) and the buckle popped off. The strap keepers make a cheap jingling sound and do not hold the strap well. I upgraded this with some after market parts (matte black stainless steel buckle, black rubber strap keepers and a bull bar) and it is outstandingly better than what it comes with. For $120 I expected better.

Design flaw

This watch was not designed for a human’s wrist. It really boils down to a basic design flaw. The lugs don’t attach where you think they will when looking at the picture or when you look at any other watch in the world. It’s almost like the designers added giant plastic wings to the bezel…and these giant plastic wings don’t bend with the curve of the wrist, so no matter how big your wrists are, the Watch will look like someone put a watch on top of a 6” ruler. Was hoping for a great blacked out square but this one comes with a poor design.

Great tool

This watch has been awesome so far. Very durable and doesn't scratch easily. A lot of people complain about the negative display but I think they're just low IQ morons who don't realize that simply tilting the watch slightly will improve visibility. Extremely visible in daylight. Not the most luxurious or prettiest strap and case, but this is a tool and if you like minimalism, you'll love this watch.

Modified straight out of the box

The “adjust” button is too far set in the plastic housing. I had to take the watch off to actually press it. As I intended to use this watch in a lab environment, taking it off and on was an immediate waste of time. I ended up cutting around the button with a utility knife so I could actually use it. In hindsight, a different watch would’ve been better, but now you know.

People say i have good taste and this looks great. Time, day, date, alarm & stopwatch. All you need. Cant beat the black on black look.

This is my first G shock watch. I was looking for an old school simple but reliable digital watch and this seems to be the standard model but in black on black. I thought it would be more hefty but I have nothing to compare it to. $50 price is kinda steep but only time will tell. Ive had other more expensive watches that would break due to my rough use so if this works for more than a year w/o issues then its well worth it. I would buy this as a gift w/o hesitation. Its hard to read w/o good lighting, but thats what the back light button is for. I like the way it looks the more I look at it on my wrist. Plan on ordering more to give away as gifts. Great price but no box nor manual. Simple but looks very cool.

Sleek and (can a Gshock be?) sexy

Very clean and minimalist. The band with complementary hardware is way more comfortable than the average Gshock strap. I am willing to do without the Multiband 6, Tough Solar and Bluetooth because I already have Gshocks with those features. I think this could work as a dress watch in some situations. Very nice piece of Casio design.

Would Recommend

This watch is simple yet somewhat flashy. I like the strap and colorway. This adds to my outfits as i wear black and gold on a regular basis. Although this watch doesnt feature bluetooth or any of the higher end options, it gets the job done. I would recommend this watch to anyone that doesnt want to break the bank for a gold tone watch.
