The watch looks as good in reality as it does in the pictures on the website. This is really good quality and strong. The Bluetooth feature is really easy to use and is very useful although the watch is simple to set and the functions are easy to use. The display is good and the light function is bright. I am extremely happy with my watch and I definitely think it is worth the cost.

Cool watch with "geeky" vibe

This is my first digital watch purchase since I was a teenager 40 years ago (yes, even people over 50 sometimes still have some of their inner geek left). I was immediately taken in by its looks with the fancy steel case, the inverted display and its toughness, when this model was announced. Bought the one on the rubber strap because of my relatively thin wrists (the metal bracelet has fixed and links that stick a bit out to the side) and the reduced weight, plus I prefer the negative display. So, why only 4 stars instead of 5?- For this price and considering the fact that this is an anniversary model, I would expect Casio to use a sapphire crystal (even some of their below 200 dollar watches have one). I am not conviced that a sapphire crystal would shatter easier than a mineral one.- Even though I would still choose the inverted display over the normal one (it just looks better in conjunction with the black bezel part and black strap), I find that the legibility/viewing angle is not great, despite the claim of using a STN display. This is especially true in dimmer light conditions (of course there is always the built-in light).- In the hot/humid climate where I live, the skin under the watch/strap starts sweating rather quickly (not really a fault of the watch, I know). Since the rubber strap is specific to this model, it cannot be swapped for e.g. a perlon or Nato one.- Instead of the bluetooth functionality (which works well, but is IMO rather pointless), why not just make this a super-accurate watch by using a thermocompensated quartz movement? That would be a nice touch to make the anniversary model stand out. Not everyone can receive a radio time signal, and I don't want my watch to update its time by connecting to my phone every night (time synchronization can be turned off, though).

GMW 5000 is worth the price and I got a beauty

Watch is very great-looking and is wearable everywhere. Since having it, for me personally, I use it on dressy or formal occasions, yet as I stated it could be worn anytime! It's got a very classy look. When you get the opportunity to obtain one... get it. You'll like the way it looks and feels. It does have some weight to it and that's part of what makes it a G-shock, rugged yet functional.

This particular series also comes with the much beloved STN display which allows for viewing at any angle. I particularly like the look and proportions of the watch. It’s not overly large like many modern watches, and the general look matches the retro-yet-futuristic stylings of the original resin model. All in all, the watch I received was authentic and in pristine condition. For the listed amount, you won’t find a better deal out there. Absolutely delighted with my purchase. The Casio G-Shock Limited Edition Radio Controlled Bluetooth Solar GMW-B5000D-1ER has fantastic finishing and real wrist presence, with Bluetooth connection, Tough Solar and multiband 6. I love the nod to the original G-Shock from 1983 with the brick patterning on the dial. It has a real cool ice cold white back light. If you are a G-Shock fan then this is one that has to be in your collection. Its a stunner.

G-Shock GMW-B5000D. Wow, what a thing, yes, it’s a G-Shock square but this is the daddy of them all. Lovely watch, has everything, completely accurate, solar powered will dive deeper than I ever will and it looks great with the shiny stainless vase and screw back. The brilliant Casio GMW B5000 is a great quality every day watch with some great features in a retro design. It's chunky enough without being too large and prone to damage. It sits well on my wrist and is on a different much higher level than the usual black resin bodied Casio watches. It also feels well made with quality materials. It even feels better than Casio's own Edifice range which I found from experience to mark very easily and look old very quickly. Worth every penny and highly recommended.

But then I decided gold suits me and I like gold as opposed to the silver of stainless steel.The gold colour is slightly subdued (almost brass coloured) compared to a proper gold watch but still looks very smart. It has a lovely chunkiness about it without being heavy like a real gold watch. It is very retro which I like and the gold LCD figures on black looks different and stylish. The watch on the bracelet strap is very comfortable and easy to adjust.
