Whilst it was technically harder to use than a toy telescope, the kid was overall content with the Celestron Tabletop. It's a bit more expensive than I thought for its quality/built, but nonetheless a decent product for a first 'real' telescope.

I like this scope, sure it not not biggest or the greatest but it's light and portableI can see objects fairly clear. I can carry it to a sight without hurting my back. The focuser is smooth and it focuses great. the field of view is wide. I got a barlow lens andaccessory kit for my scope. Great for parents and kids...

I like this scope. The mount is very solid and fairly easy to use and, from what I could see through the 20mm eyepiece, gave a well detailed view. Of course, I have only used it once and I won't use this scope again until I can afford to replace the almost useless eyepieces that come with this scope. Yes, I know that chintzy eyepieces like these are included with beginners' scopes to cut costs and supposedly get one started but a Huygens eyepiece, an over 300 year old design; really? I would think that such eyepieces would serve to discourage not encourage a new scope owner. For goodness sake, at least consider a modified achromat. I believe that this little scope could really shine with a better set of eyepieces.

This is a fantastic first telescope for starting your journey to the Moon and Stars! Really pleased with this purchase and looking forward to developing my skills and knowledge so that I can progress to the next stage.
I got this for my 5 year old son after his interest in stars and planets was triggered by a school project. He loves it and can't wait for evenings without clouds so he can look at the moon and try to find planets in the sky
Great first telescope for little ones. This came highly recommended to us for our grandson by a knowledgeable telescope user. Requires adult assistance, but enables wonderful views.
A really good choice if new to astrometry. Easy to use and portable.
Wasn't sure what to expect from this telescope but it has really surprised me. The two lenses provided are really great especially for beginners and young children. I was able to see the moon in great detail as well as Jupiter and it's moons and what I'd wanted to see most - Saturn! You can see the outline of the planet's rings on a clear night and it's a magnificent sight to behold. The telescope is lightweight and easy to use and set up and I'm really happy with it.
Cheap price for a reason. Good for Moon viewing only. couldn't focus Jupiter. Made in China. Should state these things in specs.
Brilliant first telescope had to changed the lenses that come with it made it so much better good clear view would recommend
