This is one of my top 5 favorites of Chanel perfumes. I absolutely love No.19 in edt. Mossy, Cool, Green, woody and casual with an aire of mystery and sophistication. Like being in a lush forest, sort of dry but not stuffy, slightly detached but not cold. I always feel clean and wonderful when I wear this.This is a perfect scent, the projection is great to for an edt. Lasts quite a while with little whiffs here and there. The edp is beautiful as well, there are lots of notes in this perfume. I can detect a rose heart but it's very subtle, still green creamy and wonderful. Takes me back to a bygone era. A very nostalgic fragrance.

No 19 is by far my favorite scent. I love the great earthiness of it. I bought the perfume not the toilette for a longer lasting scent. If you are looking for something that fits the “academia” aesthetic this is a good scent to try out.

Went through countless No 5 over the years. Well, at first, I thought...meh..no...But once we started looking at the gorgeous lipstick and picking up a few items that a lady must have, the best mascara, etc. I said to my daughter, smell this now. OMG. Well, yes could she ever attach her name to anything that wasn't top notch. OMG. This is fabulous. Run, don't walk and get it, and don't listen to anyone's reviews about cold. Disappointing

Interesting fragrance, close to the descriptions of it I’ve read online, but it doesn’t last long, at all. It is eau de toilette, not eau de parfum, and it’s a very weak composition. I’m disappointed, as it had a lot of hype, and it is Chanel. There wasn’t anyplace for me to try it, as the major department stores near me do not carry No. 19. As one sales associate put it, “It’s more of an elite [fragrance] from Chanel.” To the spirit of Mme. Coco, I am bewildered. I will use it up, but I won’t be buying any more of it. So much for the list of top-rated chypres I’ve been searching for. Now I know this is not one to put on my personal tops list.

Elegant

What's not to love about this. Chanel is a little more expensive than most perfumes but really worth it and will last longer than other, cheaper brands The smell lasts all day, so no need for a top up spray.It's obviously a personal preference to what smells you like. This was Coco Chanel's personal favourite and the perfume she wore. It's light and fresh and I always get complimented on it when I wear it! Go and have a spray in store. You will love it.

It's back, at last!

No. 19 is the most difficult of the Chanel fragrances to find...Thank Heavens for Nordstroms excellent choice in carrying this, my signature scent. It would not be a complete Spring and Summer for me if not for this delicate Chanel staple. Every time I wear it ( which is as often as possible without being a glutton), I am asked frequently what the scent is and where it can be purchased. Of course I respond that, when it can be found it will likely be at Nordstrom. As always it arrived promptly, and carefully packaged. Thanks for continuing to offer this wonderful product...there is definitely a niche market for this little known scent!. I have been wearing Chanel 19 since high school, there are other scents that I rotate in and out but 19 is THE ONE. As it became increasingly hard to find, I became more selective about when I wore it and as more and more counters stopped carrying it I was forced to branch out to other scents. A few years ago I was told it was discontinued (by a Chanel Counter employee no less at a different high-end retail store) and every time I was shopping somewhere that carried Chanel products, I was told the same thing: it is no longer made. I started wearing it in the early 90's so I never had the pleasure of knowing the original scent before 1979, this new formula is slightly different from the one I wore for 15 years but in no way has it strayed so far as to be markedly different. It is still the gorgeous experience I remember and love above all other scents. The perfume industry is riddled with "expensive" brands that wear cheaply and mimic each other. Chanel 19 stands apart, as each note shines the scent evolves and deepens, this truly is a classic scent produced by a classic house that still clearly takes pride in manufacturing luxurious scents of quality. The online order process was a dream, I currently live many hours drive from the nearest Nordstrom, very easy to place my order and it arrived as scheduled. I am so thrilled to have my most favorite scent back, absolutely thrilled with the ease of purchase and more than a little miffed at the lack of knowledge or customer care exhibited by so many Chanel and fragrance counter representatives at other higher end retail establishments. Nordstrom is now my go-to shop for all things cosmetic.
